Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

After about ten minutes Kyle placed Thomas down beside Jason. "Jason you can still recieve this treatment for another twelve times. Thomas you can only use it six more times before the acid stops working on you. After that we will use drake venom to corrode your bodies. I will also begin to teach you hand to hand combat. Once you can swing proper punches I might begin teaching you how to use the different weapons I know."

After saying so, Kyle turned and left without another word.

"Don't mind him, War Blade is always like that. We should head up. He has probably already set our "food" out for us. Just a friendly warning it will be raw. We have to kill and skin whatever he has in the pin for us, then we have to eat it raw. The blood will help our healing speed, as well as further strengthen our bodies." Thomas quickly explained.

Jason grimaced. He thought back to those marches through the jungle durring world war three. Running out of MREs and catching wild game. They couldn't light a fire as it would give away their location so eating it raw or starving were the only choices. It was a bad experience that it seemed likely he'd be experiencing again and far more often.

"That is ok, I have eaten raw meat before. It is unpleasant but I will manage. "Jason said to Thomas.

Climbing up the stairs the young boys, one with an old soul, began to make their way to the yard to find their 'food'. After a short while the finally made it outside and saw two tied up leopards.

"Why are there two? One is already bigger than you, and by itself will feed you and me for a couple of days, right?" Jason couldn't help but ask.

"Haha, I know what you mean, but trust me. when you start to eat you will realize your hunger and digestive power has shot through the roof. Eating three to five times your body weight today will be easy. It is a residual effect from the flames, although I do not know how it works exactly." Thomas tried to explain to Jason.

Jason couldn't help but stare in shock at the beast he was expected to eat in a single day, by himself no less. Once again this world was reminding him how truly different it was from his original planet.

After calming down Jason took the dirk that Thomas passed to him. Walking up to the tied leopard he started to kill and clean it, making sure to save the blood like Thomas told him.

"Ok, Jason listen closely I am about to explain how to weave mana into a sigil. a sigil will have runes that cover all four basic components of a spell. These conponents are; mana type, mana strength, direction of spell, spell delivery method. While other things can be added to a sigil these are the basics, everything else is to make a spell more efficient, or better suited to certain things. " Tobias began the lesson on Wednesday.

"After casting the sigil you need to pass your mana through the center of the back of the sigil, the mana will naturally disperse through the runes in the correct order they have been aligned to. This is why you must put the runes in the correct order and with the correct spacing. If the sigil is perfect, the mana will pass through the sigil and cast the spell in less than one billionth of a second. If you make a mistake the spell could be something completely different or cause a backlash in more sever cases." Tobias continued.

"Now lets begin on meditation. As you should know Everyone uses the same starting mana particle gathering technique. until you awaken your inborn element this is fine. Once you are a mage acolyte you can be tested for your element and its affinity. At that point you will be given a technique of that element. Once you become a mage though you will need to creat your own technique of your element to continue progressing. After you reach great mage you can try to add the other three basic elements to your technique. If you can do so and increase your affinity to the other three elements enough you can add their essence to your mana core at the Grand mage tier, that is the path of becoming an Archmage." Tobias said.

"So is Archmage a different tier?" Jason asked.

"No, an Archmage is still technically a grand mage, but an average Archmage can kill ten normal grand mages. Both can ascend to wizards. But once you become a wizard, you can no longer add the other three basic elements to your mana core. This also makes ascension past wizard to be nearly if not entirely impossible." Tobias answered.

"That is enough for today's lesson. You both should practice meditation and try to reach higher levels. Friday I will show you a few simple sigils so you can begin to learn them and Sunday you can both duel against each other. Anna you will be wearing a suppression bracelet since you are five levels higher than Jason." Tobias ended the lesson.

Jason closed his eyes and tried to gather elemental particles. This was his first time using the basic cultivation technique. As he drifted into a dream-like-state he began to 'see' or maybe 'feel' hundreds of small particles around him. Turning his spirit force into a net he began to slowly gather the loose particles. After a couple of minutes he realized his spirit power was significantly stronger than the spirit power of the original Jason. Thinking about it for a few seconds he guessed it was because he now had two souls instead of one. Realizing his soul was stronger he decided to use his soul to make different shapes to see if it could increase his absorption speed. In total he found three methads that were faster but he knew he couldn't have performed them with the old level of spirit power.

He was about to use one of the methods when his mind flashed back to a terrifying sight he saw as a child in Texas. ( The tornado crashed down near the barn. After a few seconds the barn was pulled out of the ground. Trees and the truck were also stolen buy the tornado as he slowly left. They found the barn roughly twenty miles away. The truck had been moved over eighty miles. It was one of the largest tornados to strike, once again showing nature's might and majesty.)

With a gasp Jason rushed to try his crazy idea, worried he would fail. As he struggled to form the vortex he realized he probably didnt have the strength to for such a gathering method, at least not with a basic cultivation technique. But thinking back on that powerful force of nature he grit his teeth and tried to force it. At first there was a blinding pain but after Jason pushed though it for a while there was a snap with a loud bang going off in his mind. Then the vortex stabilized.

Looking closely he noticed that the tornado he made, pulled in particles twice as fast as the second best method he had found, and four times as fast as the original net method.
