The trio made their way down the spirals stairs and met Tyler and Rachel at the bottom of the steps. "So how did it go those two seemed scared for you Xavier?" Tyler asked seeing as the trio was all grins and chatter now. "It went great she managed to help me connect my interface so I now have access to everything." Tyler smiled hearing Xavier say that and hugged the boy in a bear hug lifting him with a soft crack as he squeezed. "Glad to hear that man now it should be a bit easier for you to get stronger." Rachel scoffed and turned walking back the way they came. "If it's fine with you all now I plan to get some dinner seeing as we've done all you're stuff today."
Sintarra jumped on the chance to use Rachel's own insult against her. "Whos the glutton now running to get food?" The group had a small laugh at Rachel's expense before continuing down the castle towards the feast hall. Ethan chimed in partway there. "I feel like we should leave Rachel be for now we had our moment but we shouldn't torment her as she did us. We are a team now after all even if we don't get along the best we shouldn't attack each other once we begin working together." Xavier shrugged at the comment as he hadn't been insulted that much by her and felt he already had his payback against her. Sintarra on the other hand was not going to let it go so easily. "She has made fun of me my whole life and you the past three years since you became friends with me. I am not gonna let this pass without taking full advantage of it." Ethan looked to Xavier for support but again he just shrugged. He looked at Tyler and his response was the same as Xavier's. "She's my party member but I don't believe I have a say in how she treats you guys or how you treat her as you've known each other personally for years."
Ethan simply slumped in his walk clearly getting no support against Sintarra. "Fine but if you overdo it I am gonna pull you off her by your ears." Sintarra covered her ears and ran off turning back to stick a tongue out at Ethan as she caught up to Rachel and began to tease her. Ethan had quickly begun to follow her and was attempting to get her hands off her ears so he could pull on them which made Tyler laugh. "You group of kids are great, makes me feel glad knowing there are people like you three in this world. I honestly assumed it'd be all serious." "Thanks, although I'll be honest it feels weird being one of the youngest people who was summoned here. I wonder who our squad leader is and how old they are too." Tyler shrugged at Xavier's comment not sure. The two then began to catch up to the others and the group of five finally reached the feast hall again.
Seeing a private table available the group sat there and waited for their food to be brought out to them. While waiting Tyler seemed to take notice of something and began subtly watching it. Two women were watching them and Tyler got Ethan's attention carefully to not get caught by them. "Do you know either of those two over there watching us? They are at the feast table one has long black hair and the other short curled brown hair." Xavier and Ethan both looked over to the women but Sintarra and Rachel were preoccupied mocking each other to notice. "Yeah, I know the shorter-haired one. Her name is Devi Wisteuff her husband is the city's best baker. He's often hired by the king to make pastries and cakes for parties and celebrations. That's also why she's a bit plumper than most of the soldiers here but don't let that fool you, she hits like an ogre with her Warhammer. She's probably stronger than most of the people soldiers here aside from the quartermaster and some of the elite trainees." Xavier and Tyler both watched them intently now as the two of them were watching them back and talking to themselves as well. Tyler took his turn to speak again. "So then you don't know anything about the other one so she must be a woken like us."
After saying that the two women got up and walked their way over to the group keeping their eyes locked as they approached. As they got closer Xavier could tell they both looked closer to Tyler and Rachel in age compared to himself and his party members. "Can we help you at all ladies? You seemed a bit fixated on us for some time now." Chimed Tyler Taking the initiative in the conversation which helped Xavier relax a bit. "Yes I was trying to make sure but after a while I'm certain of the fact you are a group of five but two parties correct?" The black-haired woman asked and Xavier could notice a small black dot resembling a beauty mark under the corner of her left eye. Xavier also noticed her lips were a deep purple with lipstick giving a somewhat mature look to her face beyond just her age. "Yes that's correct and what's it to you anyway?" Snarked Rachel giving her notice to the women that had come over. The black-haired woman and Devi both sat at the table with the group taking up the last bit of space at the table. "Well, miss sass I am your boss now. You all joined my squad earlier today remember." "Xavier took a second to remember but once he did he sputtered out. " So you're Sara Carter then right?" She glared at him. "Carters get that right, not carter. But yes I am she and she is me!" She smiled and held a thumb up to her chest and as it squished into the softness there Sintarra covered Ethan's eyes until she had removed her hand from her chest.
Tyler looked at her and held a hand across the table. "Nice to meet you Sara. I hope our parties all get along in your squad." She shook his hand and glanced over to Xavier. "I am hoping for the same but also a bit more curious as to one of our members." As Xavier gulped a bit intimidated by the older woman three people in the white uniforms brought over several plates of food covering the entirety of the table with them. "Enjoy your food everyone as the chef knows you will." All three said in unison before bowing and walking off to clean up an empty table. The three woken all began to eat as the people from the world watched for a moment before they began. "So are all you woken gluttons?" Rachel asked before sintarra commented against her. "You were the one eager to come get food were you not?" Rachel huffed and began eating food without speaking again. Everyone at and introduced themselves for about an hour and what their classes, elements and main weapons were before it finally came to Xavier. "I assume you all know me and my stuff or lack thereof. I am an elemental without an element or a weapon. My name is Xavier Howell and I hope I don't drag our squad down."
Devi pointed at Xavier and shook her head being a bit silent. "The quartermaster gave you the graduation badge. He only gives those to a select few. You'd have to be strong enough to earn it so you won't drag us down." Hearing her say that Xavier smiled a bit feeling more welcome by the fact people accepted him even if he didn't seem strong enough to be accepted by himself. "Well thank you miss Devi. It makes me kinda happy to hear that. I plan to work hard and get as strong as possible to be able to help everyone. Till then I hope you all don't mind carrying my weight for me as I can't seem to use any weapons." Ethan and Sintarra turned to Xavier. "I didn't realize you thought that. Everyone can use any weapon even the woken it's just that you only gain proficiency levels and skills for your main weapon while you use it. You can use whatever you like though so we can stop by the armoury as I'm sure we can convince the lord to let you choose a tier-one weapon to start with instead of having to buy one with the funds we are provided. We'll use that to get you some armour and potions instead if we get it approved." Rachel rolled her eyes and got up walking off.
"I'm gonna call it a night see you all tomorrow." Devi then yawned and she seemed to be dozing off already in her seat. "I should... get home... to my... " She fell asleep and woke up just before having her face hit the table. "Husband!" She gasped and realized what she did and blushed a bit embarrassed. "Good night." Devi then ran off with a sudden burst of energy to head back to her house. "We should all get some rest. Tomorrow I want our group to buy equipment and begin training while we have a grace period here. Goodnight everyone." After saying that Sara got up and the rest of the group followed and when they left the feast hall Sara noticed Xavier going with his party instead of the woken. "Aren't you coming to sleep?" Xavier turned and realized how it was probably confusing for her. "I am going to sleep. My party members and I are sleeping under the stars as they look beautiful but only last a short while after each woken ceremony. You are free to join us if you like Sara. You as well Tyler if you'd like. " Tyler shrugged and turned around following the trio but Sara shook her head in denial. "No thank you I plan to enjoy this comfort while it lasts." "Okay see you tomorrow then. Meet here for breakfast?" Xavier asked her and to his surprise, she responded with a wink. "It's a date then. See you all in the morning." The group all walked towards the exit so they could sleep under the stars once more adding Tyler to the star-gazing group this night though. Xavier could only wonder what the city was going to look like tomorrow.
