The group was amazed by the quality of the gear in the two chests Rodrigo brought them. Inside there were multiple pairs of bracers all made from different layers of leather and in different sizes. Each of the woken lifted a pair of bracers and tried them on to see what they felt like. The one Xavier was wearing felt very soft and comfortable against his skin and it latched tight and firm with no loose space between his arm and itself. "What is this one made from?" Xavier asked Rodrigo and he smiled in response leaning close. "Leather from a rare beast up north. The elusive icehorn stag of the tundra whose meat is said to be perfection when added to any meal. I found its hide during an auction while visiting a local competitor and I managed to get it for myself. Wasn't much so I decided to turn it into some quality bracers in the hopes a woken may choose it and spread the word of my shop this time around."
Xavier turned his arms over and examined the bracers looking for any flaw he could be able to find but everything from the comfort and sturdiness was perfect for him. "What is the price range like for this?" Rodrigo stood up straight and sighed as he looked up to think. After a long minute of him thinking he looked back down. "I was planning on eight Yintu but ill scratch off three if you also buy a chest piece worth at least five Yintu as well. Is that a deal for ya or what mate?" While Tyler and Sara also talked to Rodrigo about the bracers they found for themselves Xavier returned to the chest pieces and began laying each one out. Xavier knew that he needed something that allowed free movements to properly use his sword however he also needed something that properly protected him and covered enough of his body.
While comparing everything he noticed something and moved two pieces together and then compared their size to himself. Xavier then slide one piece onto himself and examined himself to see how well the piece fit. After having the chest piece on he wrapped the armourer's belt around himself and was now wearing the archer's chest guard and armourer's belt together. He tried turning and leaning in all directions and was surprised at how well he could move wearing the two together. Devi mumbled noticing Xavier in the gear. "You look almost like a barbarian." With that everyone turned to Xavier and Sintarra laughed a bit with a snort. "A bit of a funky one but I see it he does." Xavier smiled nervously not liking the eyes on him and asked awkwardly. "Is this at least functional?"
Rodrigo then walked over and grabbed Xavier turning him about and made him perform several different movements and stepped away with a stern face. "This lot you brought me Ethan I can not describe properly. One seems like they could make do with no armour at all, another seems like they could be covered in armour and possess free movement. And this one here seems to be able to determine what is exceptional at but a glance. Believe you me this group will surely be a force to be afraid of in the wilds." Rodrigo nodded and he looked at all the gear that had been chosen.
"This will cost you 22 Yintu and 57 Xinta total lads. Although I can sweeten the deals in the future if you strike fame with me gear and become regulars. So let's get you all out to the counter and finalize the deal." Xavier then took notice of Tyler and Sara and was surprised they were so different than each other. Sara only picked out the bracers she picked up and it seemed like they had a spot for studs but they were empty. Tyler however looked like he would have been a warrior instead of an elemental as he wore a full leather cuirass that even had shoulder covering. The group then removed the armour and followed Rodrigo to the front half of the store again and proceeded to a small counter in the corner. Rodrigo wrote on a parchment everything they bought and the cost of it then took a stamp and left his mark on the parchment.
"There you lot are, I'll let you be on your way then and also Ethan tell your cousin I said hello, will you?" Ethan smiled and slightly bowed in response to Rodrigo. "I'll let him know you send your best my friend." With that, the group left the shop and once again began to roam the streets of I'llgard capital. Xavier took more notice of the architecture as they walked and he felt like there were several different eras of design along every few streets the more they walked away from the direction of the castle. As they walked every few streets the architecture seemed to grow more elegant and sturdy as more details would be put into windows and doors. What was once was just a simple sliding piece of glass for a window became a segmented glass pane that had flowers or birds designed into them along the base level of a building. And doors now had engravings into them of different scenic views and even a few had engravings of women with long thin arms and flowing curls of hair laying over her shoulders. The women's eyes were always closed and she always wore a robe the hid the rest of her features within the engravings.
Before Xavier could ask who the woman was though he noticed several house fronts were painted red. The further they went the red changed to orange which then faded into yellow. It was after seeing the yellow that Xavier realized that he was walking down the rainbow section he spotted from the top of the castle and sure enough, when he looked around he could see the castle up in the distance. Sara then spoke up and asked what Xavier was thinking. "Is there a reason the buildings here are painted like a rainbow? We passed a few different colours and now we are passing green." Devi then turned and spoke without hesitation. "The first time the goddess summoned woken here over five hundred years ago she let a rainbow stand over every capital city for each nation for a whole week. Once the celebrations began to follow each summoning ceremony of woken the king of I'llgard at the time asked that that in remembrance to the goddess the next installment to the city have its houses painted in the colours of the rainbow to honour the goddess and her gifts."
Devi smiled a bit proud of herself for answering and Tyler asked in following. "So then the city has slowly been expanded on since it was first made?" Devi nodded and continued as they began to pass by the colour blue. "Originally the castle was all there was here but eventually some people working for the castle moved their families here and they made houses for them. Then eventually people moved here to farm and provide for the castle in return for protection. Then merchants wanted to build houses and shops here and after that, the city simply kept expanding as families grew and others moved. Every few years we add several more streets to the city."
Xavier began to wonder just how many generations the kingdom had gone through before he had arrived here and how many more may be yet to come. As he thought he looked up and noticed that that group had stopped as they were near the end of the now violet section and Sintarra was standing on a staircase leading to a shop waving. "Hurry up everyone after this I plan to buy myself all the food I can eat." She then entered the store and Xavier looked above the doorway and read the sign that displayed there aloud. "Madame Mystic's Mystic Magics. This is the place for you then Sara." She nodded and smiled as she followed after Sintarra and Devi followed her closely.
Ethan then grabbed Tyler and Xavier and huddled them together. "I will warn you both Madame Mystic fancies women over men and will cater to them more. Do not trust anything she offers to let you sample for free and if she overs you a love potion just say you're already dating someone trust me it will work." With that Ethan let them go and the trio of males ascended the stairs in the shop of magic. Tyler and Xavier both taking deep controlled breaths as they braced themselves for what may be inside and as they exhaled they opened the door and heard a bell ring above their heads. This was then followed with a flash as a small line of sparks descended from the ceiling and exploded in their faces as they heard a women's voice speak to them through their blindness.
