Chapter 9 - Chaos

Leywin looked up from the hole he was in and smiled with complicated feelings. He thought this place would be his grave but it ended up being his greatest fortune.

With a sigh, he jumped as high as he could, his head almost reached the edge of the hole. As he was about to fall back down, he reached out and created a metal pole which he stabbed into the wall of hole. Hanging onto the pole, he created daggers to help him climb out.

When he got out of the hole that used to be filled with blood, he looked around the area for anything abnormal. Everything looked fine, so he exhaled all his turbulent emotions.

He noted that leveling up his abilities made it easier to use and control. Although this was the first time he used his ability, he knew other students struggled to use their ability that's why they spend most if not all of their training time on their ability. He wondered why they didn't level up their ability with their skill points.

However, Leywin didn't know he was the only person who could use skill points to level up his abilities. Other students have practice and slowly increase the level of their ability.

Dusting himself off, Leywin made way to the central part of the cave. Hopefully, he would find the group there. If he doesn't find anyone there, he would have to try his luck with the safe house.

On his way to the central part of the cave, Leywin slaughtered several imps that wanted to court death.

With his recent power-up, killing the imps got much easier. Thanks to his increased agility that was already in the E Rank level, he didn't even break a sweat.

When he arrived at the central part of the cave the scene in front of him baffled him. It looked like a battlefield.

The students were struggling to fight off multiple imps at the same time. The students seemed to have gotten stronger, some of them used Class-based abilities. This proved that some students have leveled up to level 15, which makes sense given that they can fight and kill multiple imps at the same time.

The Professors on the other hand were fighting three blood-red Variant Imps and one dark-green Variant Imp.

Professor Kim and Jim were each fighting against a blood-red imp. The two professors that were with Professor Martha were also fighting against a blood-red imp together. While Professor Martha and Professor Sam we're fighting as the dark-green imp.

The professors fighting the blood-red imp seemed to have an upper hand. While Professor Martha and Professor Sam were struggling against the dark-green imp. It seems that the dark green imps' attacks were corrosive.

When Leywin saw Sam, the little killing intent that he slowly built up from killing the imps, erupted. However, no one noticed him or his killing intent, the students were too engrossed in their fight to sense the killing intent.

As for the professors, Leywin's killing intent was too weak to attract their attention. They were on a battlefield, it made sense for killing intents to erupt now and then, they did not have the time to pay attention to every weak killing intent.

Leywin inhaled and exhaled to calm himself down. He knew he could not act against Sam right now nor was he strong enough to act.

Leywin decided to kill as many imps as he could to level up more. He looked over to the group of students, it looked like some students were missing from the group. There were originally two hundred twenty students but the group was cut down to two hundred five.

On the other hand, the imps far outnumbered the students. From Leywin's quick scan, there were over a thousand imps.

Leywin wondered how the group ended up in this situation.

Nevertheless, he ran towards the students to help. Leywin summoned his Fiendgod Sword and sent out two fiend slashes. The slashes were about 1.5 meters long and were as black as night, it seemed like they devoured all light in their path.

The slashes cut through the imps in their path like butter and continue to cut through multiple imps until the slash ran out of energy and dissipated.

Leywin looked at the sword in his hand with his eyes wide open in surprise. He could not help but think that this sword was indeed worthy to be used by a Fiendgod. Two slashes easily killed twenty imps at the cost of 100mp, what a cheap price!!

Regardless, he could not keep using fiend slashes, he had to preserve his mana for the unexpected. Yet, the boost in strength from wielding the Fiendgod Sword was more than enough and he was used to fighting without any fancy attacks or skills.

Leywin dived into the sea of imps and started to cut everything that wasn't human in his path. He would use diagonal slashes, horizontal and vertical slashes, circular slashes, etc. Leywin looked like an elegant swordsman of death, every movement of his blade claimed a life.

After 30 minutes, Leywin realized that no matter how many he killed, the army of imps did not seem to have decreased. Leywin decided to try using his Fiendgod Creator skill: Fiend Transformation to reduce the load on him.

Leywin used the hilt of the fiendgod sword to hit an imp on the head and it fell unconscious. Leywin then used two fiend slashes to keep the other imps away temporarily.

Leywin then placed his hand and the head of the imp and said, "Transform."

The body of the imp started trembling unnaturally. Some parts of its body popped and cracked as it was reformed.

[Choose the ability you want to give the new Fiend.]

"Magma, " Leywin said. Magma was the most destructive ability he had at the moment and he was excited to see how his magma ability will affect the imp.

After a few seconds, Leywin got the notification he was waiting for.

[Transformation Successful!]

Leywin smiled as he looked at his creation.

The imp got up and bowed towards Leywin. Leywin examined the imp. The imp looked the same as it did before the transformation with a few new traits.

The imp looked a lot more fit, it went from looking like a malnourished adult to someone who has been working out for years. Although it's height did not increase, it looked taller. The most eye-catching part of the fiend imp was the lava-like lines that ran across its skin. The imp now looked like a being made of magma.

Leywin decided to look at its stats and skills.

"Status."
