Next morning...
"Naina, aren't you coming for lunch? Come on let's go" Perry beckoned on her. They shared same work desk, and Perry has been nice to her.
Naina raised her head up and replied, "Thank you but I had a heavy breakfast."
"Okay"
Naina's eyes followed Perry and Lili till they walked out of the door, before returning her attention back to her work. Her eyes shifted to a yellow colour file in her desk.
"Didn't I gave this one already?" She pursed her lips. Naina mind was blown up. She rushed to Secretary Koushak desk with a yellow colour file in her hand and started searching a similar yellow colour file.
"Where did it went?" Naina anxiously searching for it. She was sweating profusely.
When a thought came to her mind, Naina paused swallowing dryly, with her eyes blinking.
------
Naina calmed herself, squared her shoulders and knocked on the door just to be sure that Shyam was there inside. She opened the door and peeked her head. She heaved a sigh when she saw that his seat was empty.
"You are safe!" she grumbled in her mind, walked into the office. She walked towards his desk and switch the files.
She received the biggest shock of her life when she turned around and bumped into hard body, one which wasn't there a while ago.
Her body jolted backward making her to miss a step. But Shyam caught her before she fell down. "Careful!!"
Shyam held her shoulders and arm gently. He let go of Naina after she had steadied herself on her feet.
"When did he even appear there?" Naina eyes was fully widened and she was staring at him unblinkingly.
"Sorry! Can you walk now or do you want to rest?" Shyam asked in a tender voice.
His voice made her snapped back to reality. "I can walk" Naina answered. His gaze on her was making conscious and uncomfortable.
"Does it hurt anywhere? Should I ask the doctor to look at you?" Shyam asked.
"Huh?" Naina was dazed, but her eyes were still fixed on him. "I am good" Naina added lifting her legs to take a step.
------
"Here drink" Shyam said as he stretched out the bottle to her. She kept staring at him expressionlessly without reaching for the bottle.
Shyam noticed the awkward way at which she was staring at him. Shyam let out a small smile, he took her hand and placed the bottle in it. It was clear she might keep staring and she'll never take it. Naina looked at him, distaste written all over her eyes.
Shyam gazed at her silently for a couple of minutes. With stoic face and a serious tone, he spoke up "Did you come here to steal something?".
"No...No..." Naina hastily denied. "Actually.. I accidentally misplaced a file. I came to talk with Secretary Koushak but he wasn't here and I thought...I walked directly to your office to switch the right one" Naina replied. Her eyelids were fluttering as she stared at him waiting for his reaction.
Shyam glanced at her and his lips twitched in amusement when he saw the look on her face. His face back to it's original stoic nature, Shyam said, "How can I trust you?"
"I am telling you the truth... Why would I?" Her throat reflexively began to feel dry. "Sorry! Director. It won't happen again. Please trust me" Naina apologized.
Shyam was again amused by her words. His face was stoic as ever, not revealing even the tiniest bit of expression.
"I will trust you if you buy me a lunch!" Shyam said smoothly.
"Lunch...!" Her eyes flew wide open to who was staring at her with an unfathomable expression. Shyam waited for few more minutes waiting for her to say something in return, but she remained mute.
"Okay, Let's see" Shyam said as he jerked up to his feet.
"Okay, I will buy you a lunch" Seems like she has snapped back to herself. Shyam paused for a moment. If anyone was looking at his face, they'd realize that he was smiling devilishly.
