Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1. Abyss

"Darkness" that was all that surrounded me. It's lingering warmth but emptiness filled me as I floated in the distant space, reflecting back at my loss against Kirin. I floated amongst it's emptiness, feeling everything and nothing at the same time. Being in such blackness was odd but weirdly comforting. I had died, I know I did. Nothing survives the abyss. In the midst of total emptiness, I floated around aimlessly, watching myself as I kept on losing the few remaining pieces of my existence. Death, the inevitable price for living. I had paid it without even achieving anything significant. In the end, all that time, all that training, all that death, all that torture. It was all in vain. "Life really is such a bitch". I still joke hopelessly as I reflect back on my three millennia old long life.

My life was never really anything special. Long story short, I was a descendant of a very rich duke. In the town I grew up in, having many siblings and abusive parents, I fled my home to study under a wizard to cultivate and become the greatest cultivator in the realm. Eventually as I was about to ascend from the mortal lands, Kirin appeared from an unknown world with borrowed powers from the immortal lands and trapped me in the Endless Abyss where supposedly no matter can exist.

'Ha ha, what a very chaotic battle, who would've thought he could possess such a powerful weapon', I thought as I continued to float around the abyss. " I'm sure by now he's probably killed Mina and my entire family. *Sigh*, I'm so sorry I wasn't there to protect you. I guess even after being the strongest in the realm I failed to protect my family and the one's I loved most, 'very ironic'. The cultivation journey was always ruthless. Everyone desired power, everyone without it ends up dying an ant with not much to even live for.

As I floated endlessly in the abyss my senses dulled and the spot of light at the center of the abyss shone forth with a blinding radiance, then it all went blank again.

...

.....

....

"Xian Tian, oh my dear Xian Tian", a woman cried out. I'm sure he's going to be a very strong warrior that'll rule the mortal lands one day.

"He's got some dashing red eyes especially since he's the only baby who didn't cry after he was born. He just stared at you the whole time as if he's aware or something, he must be reincarnated", said the nurse.

" No my Xian Tian is special. He would never be like that, he'll be the one who'll liberate us from that evil bastard Kirin".

(Xian Tian? my name's Jung Hwa you idiots)

"I can't wait to show him to his father"

"No need I can already see my son from a kingdom away. He'll be strong and great, far greater than me. He'll leave this pitiful mortal lands just like his great ancestor Min hwang or Jung- Ha".

( I am Jung- Hwa, I guess I did truly reincarnate, but I've never heard of it in all the scrolls and tablets I've read. But I can tell that this a few millennia into the future. It's too modern to be at my time. 'Oh man, how long did I stay in the abyss!'

"Come on, let's go Xian Tian". The woman who was supposedly my mother said as she rushed out of the room with her arms wrapped around me. She had dashing blue eyes and silky black hair which fell below her waist, she had a well carved and defined face as her cat eyes and lustrous skin shone out like diamonds. She was quite elegant with her slit curve waist and profound hips. Actually, she was quite beautiful for my mother, I was impressed by her beauty.

Our home was a very short castle right beside an enormous one. My father held a high position in the royal guards guild serving the royal family, so we were put in a good enough home. Then again the buildings that surrounded the main castle seemed to exude wealth from the rooftops to the very foundation. Ours was a cottage standing very close to tens of mansions.

My mother carried me along the gardens that filled the castle. I, on the other hand, just stared at the beautiful mansions and luxurious environment trying to note if there were any significant changes during these last millennia. The world was quite different from before, I thought it would go into ruin after my fight with Kirin, but instead it seemed to have recovered a lot since then. The buildings were more gigantic and blissful with the well constructed and carved roads and tiles, to great pillars and divisions of the various mansions and castles in the area.

My mother was dancing and singing with me in her arms when a flash of light appeared in the distant clouds. A man stood mid-air in a dark hood as flashes of lightning gathered in his palms. He pointed it toward our castle directly facing I and my mother. The attack seemed deadly, I stretched out my arms to counterattack only to realize that they were tiny and weak without any ounce of power. I watched horridly as the attack exploded with great force, from the man's arms, so disasterous that the gloomy clouds around him dispersed. It came crashing down on our castle directly in front of my mother and I. I started wandering if I could reincarnate another time but saw the possibility of that waning.

As it came closer it suddenly vanished into a distorted space and a red sharp slash came shooting out of it. The assailant seemed to be in shock as I could tell that his eyes widened under the hood at the terrifying display of power. The slash was almost half the size of our mansion and went flying towards the cultivatior.

The spark that came with him flashed again, and then he suddenly vanished without leaving a trace.
