Sophia and Jay got into his car, both silent. A silence that ate away Jay's soul in worry.
"I am listening. You better give me your version of everyone in full truth." Sophia told him as she crossed her arms and looked ahead of her through the front window of the car, not wanting to face him.
"I didn't have a choice. At that time, I had to keep you away from me, in order to keep you safe. "He answered her, letting his head touch back on the seat, preparing himself for a long due.
"I wanted to break the contract between your father's company and mine because I found out my father was involved with some unpleasant people and some not-so-clean stuff, and once they became partners, your father would be in trouble too..." His words caused Sophia to turn and face him, her eyes now looking at him with worry.
