Chapter 16 - Chapter 16

As he held her tenderly in his arms, Sophia felt her body calming down at the touch and her heart grew to get overwhelmed with feelings of longing and desire that normally should not exist towards someone like him. Someone who mistreated her love when he had it.

She sure had moments like this one that she couldn't lie to herself and claim that she had no feeling for Jay anymore but every time the truth was to hit her, she just grew more determined to push him away for forgiving him was not an option, when every time he claims to love her, she feels the wound that he caused in her heart, burning up.

Her ego and memories of her pain gave her the strength to push his arms away then she stood up from her bed, having Jay's eyes following her figure as she opened her closet and pulled out a simpler blouse to change into.

"Sophia, did you heard what I told you?" Jay asked her with his eyes looking at her bareback, as she changed her blouse in front of him in a way that made him feel as if he was nonexistent for her.

"I heard. But I do not care. Why should I care about your feelings?" Sophia retorted in a cold tone of voice and he found himself lowering his gaze in an attempt to hide how much her words pierced him like a bullet.

"Can you just let me explain once? Just listen to me, please." His begging voice made her heart get weaker yet she still turned around and met that pleading gaze that made her pity him but also made her recall herself for he had made her feel way more pitiful than he looked at that moment before her. He had broken her so much more when she had found him with that other woman.

" I do not want anything from you anymore. I'm better off without you." She spat her poison with confidence and left her room, leaving him alone in her bed with eyes that got filled with tears that rolled down his cheek briefly for he wiped them quickly and left his facial expression to morph into a determined one.

"You will hear me out whether you like it or not. I will win you over again simply because I can not imagine anything without you inside." Jay spoke his intentions, giving a push to his own self to keep going then walked out of her room and that apartment.

---change of set---

"Ouch .. Hey!!" Shiro's shout pierced Lisa's ears as she was cleaning the small wound near his eye due to the punch he had withstood.

"Shut up! Why are you yelling in my ear, want me to go deaf? You didn't even have to do all that ?! They were children." Lisa gave him an irritated gaze as she scolded him for his actions for he had literally gone and physically fought with each and every one of those high schoolers, leaving them all scattered on the ground like flies after he was done.

Watching that on its own sure was something tiring but the fact that they still had to walk home after that, carry the two buckets of paint she had along and having to be his person to lean on cause he had withstood some hits, surely didn't help on Lisa's tiredness much more her general mood.

"Children?! With attitudes like that? They were asking for a lesson. Annoying shits." He rolled his eyes at the way she used her words that seemed as if she was trying to protect those rude kids then proceeded to plop his body further on his couch and get more comfortable.

Instead of going down to the others, as they should have done, they had ended up going up to Shiro's and the boys' apartment first, so that the others would not see him with a blue eye and bloodstains on his shirt and worry.

The blood on the shirt however was not his, because the only hits he withstood was the first ones since he had it, as a rule, to always wait for him to be hit first, before attacking.

"You and your temper seriously... anyways this isn't working. It won't go away so fast no matter how much medicine we put on it. I think It would be better to cover it with makeup for now ." Lisa suggested after looking at his bluish eye for a bit more then she turned around to grab her bag and use some of the makeup she always carries around despite the fact that she uses it rarely.

"You are to blame for everything. And now if my Sophia sees me like this, she will be worried. You just can't keep yourself out of trouble, can you?"

"Yes, yes I understand, my fault, I got it. That's enough. You are worse than a spoiled woman. Full of nagging and whining." Lisa spoke to him as she took hold of his chin and turn his face towards her, then proceeded to start applying the make-up.

"The heck did you call me?" Shiro raised an eyebrow at her however he got ignored this time as she didn't have time for his stupid remarks.

She proceeded to focus on her job, leaning closer to his face than she had realized however he sure had taken notice of their close proximity and he soon found his trail of thought getting lost in the details of her face.

From all the years he knew her, he didn't recall ever having her at such a close distance. Yet watching her felt familiar for he had done so for as long as he remembers himself. Her purple-coloured hair, her eyebrows, her warm brown eyes that he used to find warmth into. Her nose, her rosy cheeks and the small mole on her right cheekbone. He felt like he was seeing a book that he had already read multiple times in his life, yet strangely his thoughts seemed to be still interested in her, for he didn't take his eyes off of her face not even for a second.

"Her lips look as inviting as ever" That thought travelled his mind and as soon as he realized what he was thinking, he pushed Lisa away from him.

"What are you doing? I'm not done yet!" Lisa told him as Shiro got up from his couch and walked away, leaving her looking at him irritated.

Without looking at her, he unbuttoned the zipper of his jacket and took it off, making Lisa's eyes grow wide for she was not expecting him to be naked under that.

"The heck? Why don't you have anything underneath the jacket?!"She couldn't help but murmur under her breath for it surely was absurd for anyone to go around without a t-shirt on at the very least but truth was that his garderobe choice was not what had made her nervous but the fact he literally was standing half-naked before her, surely was bringing some difficulties to her rationality.

"I was in a hurry to come to get Sophia. Anyways go bring some ice. I got injured a little on the left side of my ribs." He ordered her in a normal tone of voice as if he saw no issue with his appearance.

"Where is the ice?" Lisa questioned as her eyes were now travelling around the room in order to avoid his figure.

"Where else could someone leave their ice but the freezer." He deadpanned and Lisa laughed awkwardly at her stupid question then proceeded to walk to the kitchen and return with the ice, finding Shiro now laid down on the couch, his eyes half-closed.

She halted her steps for a bit and just took in his sight, soon a small smile reaching her lips as some nice similar memories of her past went through her mind.

"What are you laughing at?" Shiro questioned her in his deep voice, his eyes did not even turn to look her way and she just approached him and kneeled close to his side, before proceeding to gently place the icepack over the reddened area on his ribs.

"Nothing important, you just go ahead and sleep. I know you're drowsy." She replied to him, knowing that Shiro always tended to take a nap after any missions they were to do that required his physical activities while she would clean and take care of the wounds he was to gain, slowly and carefully, just like she was doing right now.

"I'm not drowsy. But even if I was, I can't sleep with the devil above my head."

His words hit a nerve inside her as it was obvious that despite the fact that she was helping him, he was calling her untrustworthy. The irritation got the best of her at that moment, making her press the icepack harshly against his wound, a thing that won a scream out of Shiro because of the sudden pain she caused him.

"Damn ... what do you think you're doing? !!!" He stood up from his laying position and furiously glared at her while he hugged his aching side.

"What!? Didn't you say I am a devil? Why were you expecting anything good from me?" Lisa snickered in his face purposely for she wished to irritate him just like he had irritated her.

"Right, my bad." Shiro proceeded to stand up for his seat and took hold of Lisa's arm, his eyes looking at her aggressively.

"You hate me and detest me more than anything, right !?" He questioned her, his eyes fixed on hers and Lisa responded to his challenging stare without a single glimpse of fear.

"I despise you more than you could ever imagine. " She retorted, pure hatred and disgust rolling out of her tongue which she made evident in the tone of her voice and the look she gave him.

"Perfect! Then this is gonna kill you!" He left a sly smile appeared on his lips, right before he pulled her closer to him and pushed her down on the couch, then proceeded to hover above her.

"Get off of me !! What are you doing?" Lisa shouted as she immediately tried to free herself but he took hold of her hands and pinned them forcefully above her head.

She didn't have the chance to complain and the strength he used against her wrists which pained her as Shiro leaned closer and vigorously captured her lips, causing Lisa's eyes to open wide in shock, right before she tried to use her body to free herself, but that only resulted on his legs wrapping around her lower body in order to immobilize her.

He concurred her lips with hunger as if he wanted to devour her whole, his tongue battling to make her surrender to his taste. A feeling that soon brought Lisa to lose her trail of thoughts and generally detach from reality, until he finally pulled away, to give them both the chance to breathe.

Shiro stared down at her as he breathed heavily above her face and she just looked back at him with an uneven heartbeat, unable to utter any words to him.

Their breaths were mixing with each other till he leaned over towards her ear and whispered to her.

"Now go ahead and hate yourself, because I know you liked that." His words felt like an arrow that pierced through her pride and ego and shattered her existence while he just smirked devilishly and pulled away from her.

"No matter what you say, you can not hide the fact that you are thirsty and easy. The worst kind." He stated right before he grabbed his jacket again and walked out of his apartment without sparing her a single glance. As if she was nothing.

As soon as the door closed however Lisa burst into tears for her emotions flooded her reasoning and crashed her front. Some cut breathes escaped her lips as she gathered her body at the side and hid her face under her arms, feeling as if she wanted to disappear at that moment.

For she was strong but there were times like this that she hated having that reputation. Because if she hadn't, maybe people would be more gentle and considerate towards her feelings. Some might have but definitely not him. If he knew that she was weak maybe he would have felt even more victorious seeing her like that. And for that fact, she couldn't help but hate him more.

"I hate you !!! I hate you !!! .... I hate that I still have feelings for you. I hate it!"She yelled only for herself to hear and maybe it was better like that for she sure sounded too desperate and broken than she would have liked anyone to notice that she was.

Because maybe she hated being strong but she hated being pitied even more.
