Chaos erupted on the east side of the slums as thousands of people scrambled to get away from the two giant beasts who appeared seemingly out of nowhere.
From the air, a falcon soared lightning crackling through its wings, and from the ground, a giant stone-covered lizard clawed its way from the earth.
The Falcon, whose size equaled a jet plane, had neon blue top feathers with golden feathers decorating its legs and underside. Its talons had a silver metallic look while its hooked beak was completely black.
Two dark orbs on the sides of the bird's head gazed predatorily at the stone-covered lizard on the ground.
A third golden eye opened between its brows, blue static electricity pulsating from its small golden eye.
The massive lizard bigger than a six-story building ignored the bolts of lightning crashing all around it as it rooted threw the dirt clearly after something in the soil.
The lizard looked even more bizarre than the bird. Its fat rotund body had dozens of long and thick stone spikes protruding from all directions on its back.
The beast's scales were a maroon red with bulging yellow veins flowing between them like tiny rivers. Huge pangolin-like claws tore apart the earth with ease as it dug.
It had a crocodile-looking mug and a big boar-like snout on its face that sniffed the dirt. The lizard's short stubby tail thudded against the ground as it waddled around looking for whatever it was after.
Erik recognized both these monsters and he couldn't help but chuckle when saw them.
"No way a third-eyed thunder falcon and a stalagmite-spined lizard, these are both disaster-level magical beasts!" Cried Erik in despair.
Erik knew he had to run but he simply couldn't put any strength into his legs.
"Shit we need to...
Erik stopped when he noticed Broadrick had vanished. Looking around he noticed him being carried into the metal structure by two of his men.
Erik then noticed all the remaining men outside were his own the Skull Troupe had retreated!
"Fucking hell retreat, you morons retreat!"
Erik yelled at his stunned men but before...
Screech!!!
The falcon cried bringing down another even larger volley of lightning.
Erik watched as one utterly massive bolt slammed directly onto the top of the Skull Troupes headquarters releasing a blinding flash that blinded Erik as he was flung backward by the shockwave.
The lightning fell from the heavens like rain vaporizing everything it touched in a flash of brilliant light.
It turned the already damaged east side into nothing but smoking rubble, reaping the lives of hundreds in the blink of an eye.
Hoark!!!
Snorted the Lizard momentarily stopping as lightning ripped through its spiny stalagmite armor, but it still appeared unharmed as it continued rooting again after a few seconds.
The falcon looked almost disappointed that the attack barely affected its intended target, not even managing to break through its rocky armor.
It grumbled in annoyance as it charged up its next attack, lightning surging into its metallic talons causing them to vibrate.
Erik groaned as he got back up rubbing his aching head as he struggled to silence the ringing in his ears.
'Wha...what the fuck...happened!'
Erik no longer saw the giant steel building or any building for miles around. He only saw the smoking remains of what were once people and houses.
"It can't be?!" Questioned Erik.
The enemy's headquarters, his own men, all of them were gone turned to ash by the monster's onslaught.
"Fuck no, no, no, no!" yelled Erik tears streaking down his cheeks.
Erik sobbed at the sheer amount of destruction he witnessed all around, never in his entire life of nonstop killing did he ever feel so helpless so weak!
'Run I gotta run to the wall!'
Erik got up and began running toward the outer wall so were all the other people on the east side who survived the volley of lightning bolts.
Whenever there was an attack everyone could agree the closer you were to the wall the safer you were.
Yes everyone fled for their lives except for Roach who was still unconscious under the rubble of the house he had been hiding in.
However, the insignificant lives of the slum dwellers didn't matter in the eyes of the two monsters.
The falcon unleashed a deafening cry as the bird dived-bombed the lizard. Its flying speed was so fast that a sonic boom cracked through the air as it swooped, talons bared.
A screeching sound like grinding metal reverberated from the bird's metallic talons, crackling blue electricity coursing through them.
Screech!!!
Cried the falcon before it collided with the lizard's spike cover back. The vibrating talons tore through the lizard's armor like it was made out of paper leaving six deep claw marks on its dark red scales. Then in a flash, the avian beast ascended into the heavens once more, charging its next attack.
Hoark! Hoark! Hoark!
Snorted the lizard a pained expression on its face. The lizard who had so far ignored the falcon suddenly decided to get serious.
With an angry snort, the lizards bulging yellow veins began to glow as the beast stomped around its powerful legs breaking apart the earth.
Hoark!!!
The lizard called out, the shattered earth forming its spikey armor once more. It didn't stop there, its throat began to glow yellow and expand at an incredible rate.
Its toothy maw opened up revealing a mass of solidifying energy that it spat out in one hefty burp. The hardened yellow energy formed large grey boulders as it shot out its mouth, heading straight toward the falcon.
It was like the beast threw up a landslide!
The falcon who had been preoccupied with changing back up its talons instantly sensed the massive amount of earth energy flying its way, then it began evasive maneuvers.
The falcon began rising higher into the skies until it was consumed by the clouds. The monster's rocky breath passed harmlessly below it.
The stalagmite-spined lizard, being a tunnel dweller, spent most of its time underground it was because of this that it had very poor vision. For a lizard, its eyes were more like that of a mole.
It already had difficulty seeing it before but now it had completely lost sight of the pesky bird.
The lizard snorted and began readying for another attack but even after several minutes, nothing happened.
At first, it thought the bird flew away but it still wouldn't let its guard down, not after it was injured by the big blue tweety.
Screech!!! Boom!!!
The falcon descended from the clouds its entire body coated in lightning. Each beat of its wing was followed by the sound of thunder as it dove toward its quarry.
The lizard snorted in shock before it hurriedly stamped the ground, transforming the crushed earth around it into a protective dome of stone.
At the speed of sound, the falcon slammed its electrified talons onto the barrier of rock shattering it into pieces.
Then the falcon flew back into the clouds while on the ground the lizard emerged from the dust and debris unharmed by the falcon's attack.
Roar!!!
Howled the lizard while stomping around like a child throwing a tantrum.
The lizard glared at the sky with its beedy black eyes ready for when the falcon would strike again.
The battle was at a stalemate with the falcon unable to land a killing blow and the lizard unable to hit the falcon.
At the rate, the fight was going it be days before it ended.
All the while Roach was still unconscious under a pile of rubble.
