Screech!!! Hoark!!!
Cried the two beasts in frustration. Neither one of them was able to land a killing blow.
The falcon's aerial maneuverability made it impossible for the lizard to hit with its earth attacks and the lizard's defenses were simply too tough for the falcon to land a fatal strike.
Both had been fighting for hours throwing lightning bolts and boulders at one another, never being able to injure either side.
The wounds that the lizard received from the falcon earlier had already healed so now both the beasts didn't even have a scratch on them.
The lizard was especially pissed off because it was the only side to have been injured but now it had enough.
It was tired, hungry, and irritated now it was going to finish this annoying conflict.
Hoark!!!
The lizard stomped around once more this time even more intensely as its yellow veins glowed brighter than they have ever glowed before.
This caused the earth to break apart and fissures to form for miles around it terraforming the terrain of the entire east side.
Under the curious gaze of the falcon, the lizard turned the obliterated earth into giant squid-like tendrils overflowing with yellow energy.
Roar!!!
Howled the lizard sending its stone tendrils into the air.
The falcon was startled at first but quickly recovered and began desperately evading the tendrils that tried to ensnare it.
The falcon displayed its expert flying ability as it weaved its way through the hundreds of glowing tendrils and on top of evading the attacks. The falcon gathered the ambient electricity around it and formed it into a protective shield of static energy.
However, the agile falcon couldn't dodge forever, and just when it was about to evade another tendril.
Boom!!!
One of the tendrils exploded next to the falcon's wing sending shards of rock that tore into its delicate feathers and dispersed the static armor the falcon had erected.
Screech!!!
Cried the pained falcon as it began to lose altitude.
Its right wing had been shredded by the explosion of rock and it could no longer avoid the tendrils that began wrapping around its body.
The falcon knew its days were numbered but that didn't mean it would go quietly.
Screech!!!
With one last mighty screech, the falcon began condensing every last trace of electricity in the sky around it, focusing it directly into the golden eye between its brow. This would be its final move!
The lizard, however, either didn't notice or care about what it was doing and only focused on pulling it down to the ground so it could finish this.
Hoark! Hoark! Hoark!
The lizard bellowed as it rearrange the dozens of spikes on its back into one single giant spike. That's right it was gonna impale the falcon on its back!
The lizard wanted to end it by skewering the pesky bird with the very same precious spikes that it cruelly destroyed at the beginning of this battle.
The lizard's face contorted into a hideous grin, in its mind, it had won. But sadly this battle wouldn't end the way it had hoped.
As the injured falcon fell to the ground it continued to compress the electrical energy stored in its eye. Like magma bubbling beneath the surface of a volcano, it was ready to erupt and take out everything in its vicinity at a moment's notice.
The falcon was resigned to its fate. It no longer cared about surviving this fight all that it wanted now was to kill the lizard by any means necessary.
Screech!!! Hoark!!!
They both howled at each other, both ready to deal their killing moves!
Then it happened, in a fleeting moment splat! The falcon was impaled through its chest. Then boom! The falcon's head exploded.
A shockwave of raw power swept the slums enveloping the lizard in a ball of neon-blue energy that expanded exponentially until it reached several miles in diameter before collapsing.
An eye-melting flash appeared upon the orb's collapse accompanied by a blast of ear bloodening sound, it was as if tons of TNT had gone off!
Hoark!!!
Cried the stalagmite-spined lizard one final time in utter despair as the light consumed its body. Until the very end, it never understood why the falcon attack it.
...
No one knew how long it took for the dust to settle. Could have seconds, minutes, or even days but eventually, the shockwaves stopped, and the bright neon light dimmed until vanishing.
The landscape which had been raised, cracked, and crushed an unknown number of times was once again a flat barren wasteland without a trace of anyone or anything ever having been there.
The east side was no more all in all thousands may have died in this fight between monsters. The east side was heavily populated after all and only a few had managed to get away after the initial strike but surprisingly there was still one person who still survived.
"Oh God what happened! My head is killing me!" cried Roach as he pulled himself from a pile of rubble.
Luckily he had been just far enough out of the blast radius so that he wasn't vaporized but even so Roach had come extremely close to being killed.
All it would have taken was one stray bolt of electricity or maybe a boulder that flew a little bit too far to snuff out his life.
Roach obviously didn't know this since he's been out cold for hours however for some reason he still felt like he had dodged a bullet.
"What the fuck! Everything's gone what happened while I was out?" said an irritated and confused Roach.
Roach got up and then immediately fell flat on his face. He looked at himself and almost gasped in shock.
He was covered in a thick layer of ash from head to toe, purple contusions decorated his tiny body, and large red gashes traced his calves that gushed blood.
Roach's face paled when he saw this but then he thought.
'Well, it'd be weirder if I wasn't hurt!'
Roach knew he couldn't stay here so he dragged himself over to where the hideout used to be but he suddenly stopped when he noticed the giant burnt-out corpse of a peculiar creature some distance away.
"Now, now what's that?" said Roach curiously.
'Should I or?'
Roach debated it in his mind but he thought he might as well, after all now that the Skull Troupe was gone he had nothing better to do.
Roach then changed his direction and began dragging himself over to the charred corpse a mischievous look in his eyes.
