"I know Lucy, don't freak out". I probably shouldn't have told Lucy about what happened with Ivan last night because she's been talking about it for the last ten minutes.
"L-LUCY! Listen to me", I scream to the phone to get her attention.
"Sorry, sorry. But do you know what it means? You just kissed the most popular guy at school ON THE FERRIS WHEEL. And let's not forget that he confessed that he liked you." I can feel her excitement through her voice.
"But I mean, he didn't say it. What if it was a normal kiss, nothing more?"
"Oh come on! Cut the bullshit. He's whipped and it's pretty obvious." She murmurs. "You like him too. Perfect couple".
"We're not a couple". I correct her. "I mean....not yet."
"So you do want to be his girlfriend?"
I know she's smirking. I can sense it.
"Like...I wouldn't mind it. I have the fattest crush on him."
"Crush is an understatement."
"Whatever. Anyway, I've got to go get some groceries, so I better get ready."
"Okay, I'll talk to you later. Bye."
"Bye."
I hung up the phone and head to my closet to get dressed.
But I couldn't stop thinking about what Lucy said.
Is it more than a crush?

"I know that she's hot Roger. But it's more than that."
Roger was laying on my bed as I was standing walking in circles around the room.
He's like my brother. We spend all our time together.
"Listen, bro, I haven't seen you that stressed over a girl since the one you married at the playground when we were 6." He says sitting up and trying to prove his point. "I'm just saying, drop the question. What could go wrong? "
"What if she doesn't like me like that?" I state with a worried tone
"You're extremely dumb for a straight-A student." He says with sarcasm.
"Yeah shut up." I stop for a second then continue, "Listen. I like her mate. She isn't one of my casual hookups with random girls at school. She's just different."
"If she's that special, why won't you ask her to be your girlfriend?"
"I'm worried that she'll say no and that I'll lose her. It would be too awkward to still hang out if she doesn't feel the way I do about her."
"I understand. Just be flirty with her and stop hints. If she likes it, you won. If she doesn't, you'll wait until the feeling is mutual. She'll fall for you eventually."
"That's smart. For a boy that fails all his classes, you're not that dumb."
"I'll take it as a compliment. Now stop walking like an idiot and get dressed, I'm hungry."
"Okay, let's go have lunch."
