Chapter 3 - Aztec the Creator

Isaac's eyes opened up, and all that was in his view…was nothing but a void. There was darkness surrounding him no matter where his eyes looked and searched in the vastness and deepness of his surroundings. Isaac looked down and realized he no longer had his human body: No arms, no legs, there was nothing. He could still think and see, but he could no longer feel. "It seems souls truly do exist, now it's a matter of figuring out what to do from here. Aren't I supposed to be walking up a huge staircase to be judged by some god"? Isaac thinks in his head but is soon met with more disappointment when he searches in the void, his soul moving across the void, for something that would lead him to anything but just an empty void. Isaac could move extremely quickly as a soul, but all there was no matter how far he traveled, was an empty void. Isaac couldn't actually feel tired due to the fact he no longer had a body that needed substance to keep itself alive, but he shut off his sight and began to drift amidst his own thoughts.

"Watch where you are going". Andres appears in a scene in Isaac's thoughts, staring down at Isaac who had just crashed into him with a glare, as Isaac is backing up from having crashed into the taller individual he knew nothing about, and surely wouldn't know he would be his roommate, and one and only best friend. Picking up the things from the floor he had dropped from the crash, Isaac profusely apologizes to Andres, looking timid to the average person who might see him. Andres only sighs before helping Isaac up off the ground and telling him it's not such a big deal, before continuing on his way. The scene changed to multiple events that almost seemed to play on a fast-forwarded video with 10x speed, as multiple events that had Isaac and Andres in them started to be recounted in his mind, before changing to his childhood within seconds.

"He will be fine, even if I'm not alive anymore, there's no way he would die after me, he's stronger than me in so many different ways, and not as hardheaded". Isaac thinks in his mind about Andres. "If I had run alongside Lucie, would I still be dead as I am right now? Would I have failed the dream that I needed to complete for me and my mom? Mom...". Isaac thinks sorrowfully as many events flash past in his head, of all the good times he has had with his mother, from when he was a child, to growing up with his mother, and all the hardships she had helped him get through. One, in particular, stands out, in watching his mother get abused defending their ability to gain money, suffering terrible damage that couldn't be reversed no matter the amount of money in the world. Despite all of that, she had never stopped working those multiple jobs, just to support her son, who had now wasted all her efforts, by dying such a miserable death. If Isaac had the capacity to, he would have cried knowing just how much he had lost due to his death, he wasn't ready to die yet. With no concept of time, Isaac closed his eyes and allowed them to stay closed.

Within the void, suddenly a light appears that illuminates the originally dark space, in the form of multiple candle lights, surrounding the wisp of consciousness that Isaac had become. The light felt too bright, causing Isaac to open his eyes only to squint and slowly move his soul away from the area of the light. Suddenly; The candle lights converged into a single point, before a body made of pure light, appeared in front of Isaac. It was human-like in appearance, and its body stood straight in the void as if its feet seemed planted on solid ground. The light body was generic but gave off this sense of perfectness, the body wasn't too big, too small, or skinny. The body looked as if it was sculpted by a famous sculptor instead of being generically birthed, with not an ounce of asymmetry to its appearance.

"God"? Isaac thinks in his head, the only thought he finds to make sense considering the weirdness and strangeness of what he sees in front of him. Suddenly a tone that seemed expressionless but still full of strength and emotion, sounded out from what seemed like within his inner mind. "Not quite human, I am Aztec, creator of all things, shape, form, and matter". The voice says before hovering closer to where Isaac was stationed.

"Oh yeah? Well, I'm Isaac, the atheist of all atheists, and I'm not going to believe some talking light...body...thing, to be a god without some evidence. Create me a planet if you are the god of all things or whatever". Isaac refutes the words in his mind, only to have his entire world shaken as he watched what Aztec did in response to his disbelief in his claim. Not even saying a word, he raises his hand, and in his hand, forms a sphere, Aztec stands there as the sphere launches off behind him, growing exponentially by the second and moving incredibly quickly, until a planet that seemed to be the Earth spawned in the void, in all its marvel and grandness. Right after, the Aztec snapped his fingers, and the void suddenly become full of stars and mimicked how space was. Looking around, Isaac stared all around him, in marvel at the scene in front of him.

"Is this evidence enough human"? Aztec asks Isaac, almost sounding like he was mimicking sass, but his tone of voice didn't change even the slightest bit from the tone he had spoken previously. Isaac still marveling at the scene returns back to reality from this quiet, literally, "a reality check" and only replies the one way he knows how to in a situation like this. "Yeah, I'd say I'm about sufficiently convinced, but what do you want with me Mr. Creator of all things"? Exactly like how he created a replica of the Earth, Aztec creates a sphere and throws it in the opposite direction, creating a planet that looked similar to the Earth, but the size of the planet was at least three times as big as the Earth. It was like the Earth's older, more well-developed cousin when looking at the two planets. As Isaac marvels at the even larger planet, his attention is refocused on Aztec as he begins to speak.

"I have a purpose for someone of your standards Isaac, I have watched your life up to this point and deemed you the perfect candidate for a let us say, an experiment of mine. An experiment, that I think you will find to be, what you humans might call, "A once in a lifetime opportunity".

"A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity"? Isaac asks with confusion in his voice, wondering what exactly Aztec meant by the words. The body made of light, known to be Aztec, slowly floats backward before moving his arm so that his palm faces outwards from his body, and a door is summoned next to where his palm is now residing. "This door right here will lead you to the world I have modeled for you. It is a world that instead of being run on technology and electricity, is run on magic, or Arcana as this world's native population calls it. Due to the evolution of this planet's natural life, beasts and creatures have spawned with the ability to use the arcana force, this has caused the almost end of the human civilization on this planet. That is until the humans on this planet learned how to tap into the arcana force themselves. Humans while clever in their use of the arcana force as their research grew, couldn't use it in the way that the beasts and creatures of this planet used it. Regardless, they still equipped themselves and studied the arcana force to prosper and protect their civilization.

"Interesting, but why are you telling me all of this"? Isaac asks, still not quite getting what Aztec is getting at it by telling him a short history lesson about this new world. Aztec only shakes its head slightly, clearly annoyed by the response. "I will be sending you to this world human, unless of course you would rather be sent on the wheel of reincarnation, and hope to be reborn as another human in your next life". Hearing the response Aztec gives him, Isaac is not only in shock and surprise, but he is strangely calm in the situation. "I would like to go to this new world, but would even going there be worth anything? It's not like I can perform magic, can I"? Isaac asks in anticipation of the answer Aztec would give him.

"With my power, I can send you into the body of a newborn, who originally was supposed to die during their own birth. With a body from that world, you will have the capacity to learn magic as long as you are lucky enough. I will also allow you to keep a gift from your old world to this new world, and it will be imbued with my powers, which trust me, will be handy for you. This is also the reason I have chosen you out of all humans Isaac. I believe you have the will and courage to reach the top in this new world if that is what you seek, but for what you will be in pursuit of, is not for me but for you to choose and discover". Aztec finishes, allowing Isaac the chance to digest all of this information and come to a decision.

"Well it's kinda hard to give up an opportunity to possibly use magic, I'll accept the offer Aztec". Aztec only slightly nods before in his hand appears a silver pendant with an egg-shaped object in the center of the pendant, which looked to be made out of turquoise, floats in his hand. The pendant was oddly similar to the pendant his mother gave him, and made Isaac confused if this was the gift Aztec chose to imbue his powers into. Before Isaac could continue with any questions he might have, the pendent inched closer and closer to where Isaac's soul currently floats, and once it touched him, Isaac lost consciousness and returned to a long slumber. When Isaac opened his eyes, he was in a small room, with four white walls, no entrances, exits, or a single window. Isaac would have thought that the room was normal, if not, when he looked around, suddenly a window formed, and outside the window, he saw twinkling stars in space. Not even noticing in the first place, he has a body once again. While staring at his regained body, and touching himself stupidly, Aztec appears in the small room, catching his attention.

"Isaac, in this new world, all humans are capable of magic, but some just have a greater talent for it in comparison to others. Magic is unique, to every person, not everybody uses their magic the same, fire magic which is pretty common in the world can be utilized by the user in many different forms. As if leading by example, the Aztec forms a ring of flames, then a piece of metal that Isaac couldn't discern, but looked like cooper, was created into the center of the ring of flames, and it quickly melted under the heat, as Isaac was somewhat close, he backed off from the intense heat of the flames, until Aztec removes the flames and melted liquid and summons a ball of flame, that he throws out the window. Confused, Isaac goes to look out the window, before shielding his eyes from the explosion that had just occurred, outside the room. Continuing like what he had done was a simple party trick, "The pendant on your chest will help you in a few but practical ways Isaac. I wish you luck when it comes to your reincarnation into this new world. For safety reasons, you will not remember about me, but you will remember about your past life".

Aztec forms the door once again, and ushers for Isaac to go in with a wave of his hand. Isaac stares at the door and slowly walks towards the door and enters the door into a new world. Beginning a new life, in a world full of magic, adventures, and stories to be made for Isaac. The minute Isaac stepped through the door, everything was dark. Strange sounds coming from the outside of whatever place Isaac was right now, but it was so dark, there was no point in Isaac keeping his eyes open. While Isaac was in this dark place, his thoughts went rampant.

"Am I already in the new world? Will I be able to experience magic? I wonder how different this world is in comparison to mine". These thoughts flooded Isaac's head until he heard a feminine voice say something that sent shivers down to his very soul, "PUSH"! With that one word, the peaceful darkness Isaac was entrapped in, began to crumble, as he could feel himself get pushed and squeezed, experiencing one of mankind's greatest heaven-sent miracles…birth.
