Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Realization

"Tur..."

"T...er"

"Mr.T...ner"

"Mr.Turner!"

SLAM~

Ethan woke up to the sound of a large book falling on his desk.

Ethan looked up to see Mr.Criley standing in front of him.

Mr.Criley was a 49-year-old math teacher with grey balding hair and large square glasses.

"It's time for math, not sleep, Mr.Turner," Criley said to Ethan.

Ethan looked around to find the whole class staring at him. Most of them were snickering. Ethan looked down and found a puddle of drool sitting on his desk. He hurriedly wiped his mouth.

HAHAHAHAHA~

The entire class erupted in laughter. As Mr.Criley went back to the front of the classroom he told the students to be quiet.

Ethan went back to his thoughts as he rubbed his hazel eyes and brushed his brown hair back with his fingers.

Ethan was thinking about last night. He didn't get very much sleep because he was preparing for today. The day he would finally end his suffering. He wiped his computer's hard drive after saying goodbye to his online friend that he had met in a game just a little over a year ago. He told his only friend what he was doing and why. He then cleaned and folded all of his clothes, cleaned his room, and last but easily not least, He wrote his goodbyes on a note that was sitting on his bed.

SPLCHT~

As he was staring out the window to his left, Ethan was hit in the back of the neck by something. Wiping his neck off, a spitball fell to the ground. Ethan looked behind him, already knowing who had done it.

Jason Riles.

Jason has always bullied Ethan for as long as he could remember, he didn't know why but Jason and his lackeys always got a kick out of seeing Ethan's misery.

Finally meeting eyes with Jason, Ethan sighed and looked at the clock. Only 5 more minutes.

Ethan heard snickering and turned around, but right as soon as he did a series of dings erupted inside the school. Hundreds of people getting the same message. Everyone took out their phones, including Ethan. It was from Jason.

It was a picture of the messages that Ethan had sent to his online friend. All of them. Every time that Ethan had complained about his life and how he was even going to take it right after school.

Then a sudden realization hit. Ethan looked at Jason who grinned back at him before the class erupted in laughter. It was deafening. However, Ethan could hear none of it. He couldn't hear or see anything except for Jason. The man who had tricked him into thinking that someone was actually there for him.

Ethan stood up and started walking towards Jason. The class went silent as Ethan walked over to him.

20 feet~

15 feet~

10 feet~

However, as soon as Ethan was about 5 feet away, the entire building shook, and a blinding azure light flashed and covered everyone. Ethan tried his best to keep his eyes open as he looked around to figure out what was going on.

Ethan looked down to see a massive circle cover the entire classroom. Hundreds of small letters and shapes that Ethan couldn't understand flashed and in an instant the shaking stopped and Ethan felt his body twist and fold before stopping suddenly.

Ethan opened his eyes to an unexpected scene in front of him.

Looking at the thing in front of him, Ethan read each line carefully before looking up. The first thing he saw was a large hall made of white marble. The room was about 100 meters by 50 meters and was about 50 feet high. There were dozens of white pillars along the edge of the room and there were 2 dozen desks and students sprawled around on the ground. Surrounding the students were about 50 men wearing full plate mail armor and were wielding long spears and swords. At the front of the group was an old man with a long white beard that touched the ground, wearing a white fleece robe.

Ethan stood up as he looked at everything that seemed to be transported: desks, chairs, students, Mr.Criley, And Jason.

"JASON!" Ethan roared furiously forgetting about everything else around him. Ethan ran at Jason as fast as he could. As he ran, Ethan grabbed a chair off the ground.

Jason, hearing this turned around just as Ethan swung the chair at him as hard as he could.

THUUM~

All of a sudden Ethan couldn't move anymore.

"What?" Ethan asked as he no longer had control over his body.

"Someone get him away from me, he's crazy!" Jason said taking advantage of the fact that Ethan had tried to attack him. He didn't know why he had suddenly stopped, but he didn't care as long as it made Ethan look worse.

3 guards walked over to Ethan and knocked the chair out of his hands before pinning him to the ground.

"WHY CAN'T I MOVE!!" Ethan yelled, furious that his only chance was taken away.

"SILENCE!" A deep and dominating voice sounded in the large open space.

As soon as this voice was heard everyone turned towards the front, where the voice had come from.

The old man stood straight as he opened his mouth to speak once again.

"HELLO EVERYONE, MY NAME IS KAZILLIS," the old man spoke, his voice louder than it should ever be without him actively screaming.

"I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON BETWEEN YOU TWO, BUT I MUST INFORM YOU THAT YOU ARE NO LONGER IN YOUR WORLD SO RASH ACTIONS LIKE WHAT YOU JUST PULLED," Kazillis said while pausing for a second and pointing at Ethan. "WILL NOT BE TOLERATED."

"THIS IS THE ONLY WARNING YOU WILL GET BOY," Kazillis said with overwhelming pressure.

As soon as he said this chatter erupted. No one cared what could happen to Ethan, they were all confused about what the man meant by 'no longer in your world.

"What?"

"What do you mean 'not in our world'?"

Everyone except for Jason and Ethan had forgotten about what Kazillis had said about actions and tolerance and how Ethan would most likely be punished if he did anything else.

Jason turned to Ethan with a massive smile on his face. This infuriated Ethan 1000 times over. He tried to move again but found that he was still paralyzed.

"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!?" One of Jason's lackeys, Ryan Thompson, yelled.

All of a sudden Kazillis started speaking again.

"SILENCE," Kazillis yelled once again, causing the entire room to go silent. "As I stated before, this is no longer your world. You see, we have summoned you here to our world as the great heroes that will save the human race from extinction. Welcome to Atreia."
