As Maggie came to, she noticed the baron and baroness looking at her, both concerned, and the baroness weeping. As the doctor checked on her, the baron was informed that Maggie was alright and had only fainted due to weariness, but it had been a nightmare for Maggie.
Maggie had no idea she'd be returning to the location where her nightmare had all started. She considered never coming to the kingdom again, but she sees the baron and baroness who was hoping she would help them make Henry better again, and she, too, who loved her brother, did not want to see him suffer.
This was the only way to make money other than moving from place to place looking for work. If she were in the royal palace, she could earn money as a royal maid, and considering the situation, she doesn't need to care about Estephen or Cosette, and the crowned king won't know who she really is because she is not the former empress but the baron's daughter, and on the plus side, she doesn't have to deal with the king or his mistress, but only the king's child.
Maggie decided to work as a maid at the royal palace after consoling her parents, considering numerous options, and fretting that she would die.
The newly Crowned Emperor who's name is Eric can't be king yet until he marries as a lady who he met in the brothel is not a noble and keeps her just as a mistress and the priestess who he he didn't much loved was barely a fiancé who was pregnant with his child when he forcefully made her to sleep with him, and by disgust the empress gave marriage to him which makes him just a bachelor prince until he gets a wife to be crowned the emperor of Kreronada.
It won't be a burden dealing with the prince, and she can simply care for his child rather than knowing what's going on in the kingdom, according to the baron, the emperor did not have a boy but a girl, which is why the empress killed the priestess as she hated her, even though the crown prince didn't like the child and had just abandoned her to the cold palace where it was the former queen Candence who was Maggie's previous life.
"It's truly a cruel thing to do for a princess abandoned," Maggie says, realizing that the princess was similar to her in her previous life after her father died and people tried to take the throne since she was small, but thanks to the old king's men she was able to survive, and now the princess needs her help.
"Fine, I'll go," Maggie responded.
"Really, Thank God," the baroness responded. "Thank you, daughter." "You are definitely a treasure," the baron added.
"I'm not doing this for Henry or for the sake of a decent life for all of us." But Henry is seriously ill... I had to borrow roughly three years' worth of living expenses merely to cover the upfront cost of the procedure.
"Thank you daughter," said the baroness as she hugged her while the baron rushed to the office to fill in Maggie's letter to get the job
Maggie was upset, but if it meant saving her beautiful brother, she was fine with it. Furthermore, even among royal maids, those descended from the families of simple nobles were the lowest of the low. As a result, she was unlikely to come into contact with the despotic prince.
There were few instances where exceptionally attractive maids were appointed as 'hands' for royalty, but in those circumstances, the house the woman was born into was more important. A duke's or earl's daughter was more likely to be recruited as a hand.
Henry came sprinting as they talked. "Sister don't go just because of me"
"No, I have to go to the royal capital," Maggie explained.
"But you will be killed by the prince, I heard rumors he kills his staff if they make a mistake," Henry cried. "Don't worry, your big sister is strong," Maggie says as she wipes his tears away. "Are you afraid?" Henry asked. "A little, but it's better that I'm working elsewhere rather than in the main palace."
"You better not be called," Henry says.
"I'll be OK; in that case, I'll only be allocated to the supposed princess." I feel sorry for her Majesty, who is being treated harshly. "How can a father treat his daughter like that?" raged Maggie.
"How can a father treat his daughter like that?" raged Maggie.
"What to do, if the former queen was there, things would be different," said the baroness
When she sees the baroness crying, she realizes that the kingdom still misses Queen Candence because she was constantly concerned about her country, and after the queen died, the kingdom fell into disarray, with constant battles. If anything happens, she should save the vulnerable princess to avoid a repeat occurrence.
"Everything should be fine if I become her maid." Maggie stated
"You should likewise avoid dealing with the prince's mistress." remarked the baroness
Maggie inquired, "Why is that?"
"From the ladies meeting I attend on Fridays, I learned that the mistress, Rebecca, is a low noble and a hostess though poor, she was beautiful but manipulative like the empress and was the empress' favorite, it was said that the empress killed the priestess for Rebecca to be queen but prince Eric didn't want to deal with her mother and made her mistress."
Hearing this, Maggie realized that Cosette had done it as well, and now it is Rebecca's turn, and she must be cautious if she meets or does not meet her. She has too many responsibilities, but as a maid, she will protect the princess and guide her down the right road.
So Therefore, Maggie decided to become a maid. No matter how much she thought about it, she wasn't Queen Cadence, but Maggie Cunningham, so everything should be fine.
"For the time being, I'll be a bystander who will only watch the sequence of events following the mistress's descent. It may be terrifying, though… to see the sons of high-ranking aristocrats fall one after another, and finally, the crown prince himself…" She packed her belongings and prayed to the goddess for her wisdom and might to protect her from all evil after opting to travel to the capital.
She went to the church a few days before she was to depart, stood across from the goddess statue, and asked for aid.
As she prayed, a light spark appeared and she was transported back to her original self, where the goddess stood.
"My dear Yuna, what holds my pleasure," the goddess says.
"My goddess, it appears I have returned to my past nightmare; please guide me to the correct path and protect me from the prince and the kingdom," Yuna beg.
"My beloved Yuna, you are strong and fearless, and you can pass any test given upon you, such as when you help the girl with what you have."
"Yes, I am brave, but I am also scared about how the prince will be, and I need your encouragement to be strong, so could you do something about that?" Yuna inquired.
"My. My, if you require it, as a reward for assisting the girl, as well as my mistake from your previous life. "I will bestow a gift onto you; use it when the time comes, and I hope you use it for good," the goddess continues.
"I am grateful for your blessing, lovely goddess," Yuna replies.
As she opens her eyes, she concentrates and tests her powers; as she checks, magic appears and she gradually attempts to learn what power the goddess has placed upon her. She trained to be strong by performing magic while keeping it hidden from her family. It was time for her to leave after a few days. As she departed town, she said goodbye to her family and the residents.
Ally used a common carriage because she didn't have enough money. She occasionally stayed at the homes of her father's associates along the journey to the royal capital. Suffice needless to say, it was a lengthy journey. To travel alone at the age of seventeen without fear of risk was perhaps solid proof that Maggie was a strong woman.
As she approached the capital, she held her breath as memories of her previous life during her execution were displayed, but she grabbed hold of herself because she now had a new life and should forget all that happened then.
"I was in horrible shock after the first execution, but after coming back, I should just forget the past..." Maggie stated as she took deep breaths.
She didn't want to see the king's grave or deal with any royal people again after rewinding her life, in which she strove in vain and died, but simply care for the princess and safeguard her from following in her grandfather and father's footsteps.
At the same time, it seemed like after her second life onwards, due to having too much to digest, oftentimes she felt unsure of her reality.
