Roy started laughing uproariously, before finally talking.
"You don't want your beasts to get needlessly harmed? What kind of a Battlepet Master Trainee are you?"
Jamie's eyes flashed. "I could ask you the same thing. We have to spend a great deal of time with these creatures to get them to trust us, and when we bond with them we have to spend time with them constantly. What kind of person can spend so much time with another being and still willingly, recklessly and pointlessly throw them into harm?"
"Their not human!"
Jamie looked at Roy in slight confusion. "So?"
"What do you mean so?"
"I mean just that. They aren't humans. So what? Any creature that can gather energy gains a certain amount of intelligence. It's not like the creatures that can't gather energy are lifeless beings in any case. Why would it matter to you if their human or not when you spend a lot of time in harmony getting to know each other? You managed to bond that beast, getting it to initiate the contract, surely you had to get along with each other to do so right?"
"What makes..."
"You kept saying needlessly and pointlessly. To you, what makes it worthwhile to make your beasts fight?"
Jamie looked at Vincent, who had just cut Roy off. "Resources, Survival, and worthwhile Training."
Vincent smiled. "So how about this. I have this...." Roy reached into his pocket, and pulled out a sparkling, silver ball with white specks on it. Jamie's eyes lit up as he saw it. "Basic Lunar Evolution Stone here, that I can give to whoever wins if you fight Roy's Four Horn Buffalo."
Jamie looked at the Basic Lunar Evolution Stone in Vincent's hand. He was planning to try and tame a Two Winged Lunar Snake at Ragas for himself, so he could definitely use it. As for the fight...Jamie chuckled to himself at the thought. The Four Horn Buffalo was at stage three. He was confident that both Blackwing and Eve could take it on. Despite his lower stage, Blackwing could fly, and the Four Horn Buffalo could not. Blackwing could easily avoid the Four Horn Buffalo's attacks and tire it out, before finishing it off. And as for Eve.....
"Deal. But why are you so keen on getting us to fight?"
Vincent's eyes flickered over to Eve, who was waking slightly ahead of the group, sniffing at a structure, her tails wagging.
"Because I have never seen a wolf like that before. I am curious to see what it can do."
Jamie shrugged. "It's your loss. How will we do it?"
Wayne, walking ahead of the group with Lennox cut in. "You guys can fight it out when we have reached our destination. I can be the referee."
"Sure."

After walking for another five minutes, they passed another row of buildings, reaching the center of the city. They came across a massive, charred, piece of land in a circular perimeter around a massive hole in the middle of the smoldering land. Not a single structure could be seen, but piles of ash could be seen laying about, and people walking across the terrain, making their way to the center. Jamie and Emily's eyes widened as they saw the landscape.
Ivan looked at the duo and smiled. "Impressive sight, isn't it?"
Emily just stared at the landscape while Jamie opened and closed his mouth a couple of times, before finally managing to speak.
"How did this happen?"
"The City Guardian. Look behind you." Ivan pointed at the buildings they had just passed, and Emily and Jamie turned to look. The back of the five storey buildings looked deformed, twisted. The lawns before the arch entrances were all blackened. Ivan smiled briefly upon seeing their reactions.
"This was all caused because the Brouis City Guardian briefly engaged a Gredidine Warprince in the center of the city. It was an ambush, they clashed for less then a minute, but this is the result. If you ever come to wield such power, or are caught up in a fight between powerhouses, keep this in mind. Any prolonged conflict between powerhouses alters the environment drastically, and not for the better. I brought you along because I wanted you both to see this."
Wayne laughed. "Ivan, it's not like either of the two will reach that level of power."
Ivan glanced at Wayne, smirking. "If you say so. Now, before we head off, lets watch Jamie and Roy have their fight."

Jamie and Roy stood twenty meters away from each other, on a level patch of land. They observed each other as their beasts, Eve and the Four Horn Buffalo were staring at each other, with the Four Horn Buffalo standing on all fours nearly double Eve's height. The Four Horn Buffalo had a black coat, and had four white horns on it's head, two on either side. The horns were curved, with the tips pointed slightly upwards. The Four Horn Buffalo stood with raised ears on her head, and was stamping on the ground with one hoof, and looked at Eve while making grunting noises. Eve, meanwhile, stood watching the Four Horn Buffalo with her tongue lolling out of her mouth, and her tails raised and ears perked, the golden ring on the center of each of her two tails and the golden tip glowing. Wayne stood between the two, talking.
"I will intervene if a beast looks like it will be killed. Otherwise..."
Jamie sent a transmission to Eve. "Just stick to using one ability at the time. Consider it training."
"Sure. It'll still be easy."
"3"
A gruff voice sounded in Jamie's head. "Try not to expose Eve's unique ability. Wayne isn't exactly the most trustworthy sort."
Jamie tapped into his Astral Energy, sending his thought back to Ivan. "I wasn't going to. It'll be too easy otherwise."
"1"
"And don't get too cocky."
"Begin."
Wayne vanished from Jamie's eyes as Eve stared running forwards, while the Four Horn Buffalo walked forwards at a leisurely gait. Eve managed to cross half the distance while the Four Horn Buffalo had only managed to managed to move two meters. Roy said out loud.
"Quick, use Rock Slam."
Jamie's eyes widened in surprise as Eve managed to cross another two meters in the time it took Roy to finish speaking, thinking to himself "Is this guy an idiot? Who the hell speaks the moves out loud. If he is going to send commands, he should send it through the bond at the very least. It''s much faster."
Eve started to snicker as she approached, and the Four Horn Buffalo started glowing brown and it let out a bellowing roar. As the energy started to gather in front of the Four Horn Buffalo and a rock wall started to form, Eve angled her position slightly so she was facing slightly to the right of the Four Horn Buffalo. A rock wall started forming, and after Eve had managed to close in another meter the rock wall slammed forwards.
As it approached, Eve started slowing down, and angled her body further to the right, as the rock wall approached. Eve closed the gap further by half a meter before she moved forwards instantaneously, dodging the rock wall, and it continued to rush forwards after it had missed. Jamie moved casually to the side to get out of the Rock Wall's vector as Roy started to talk.
"Quick, use Rock Barrier."
Jamie shook his head at the verbal command as the Four Horn Buffalo started glowing in brown light as it let out another bellowing roar, that was swiftly cut off as Eve slammed into the side of the Four Horn Buffalo, causing it to grunt, and interrupt it's skill. After slamming head first into the side of the Four Horn Buffalo, a slight ripple of brown light started to form around Eve's teeth as she bit down swiftly on the back leg.
The Four Horn Buffalo let out a cry of pain, as a loud cracking sounded in the air. The Four Horn Buffalo tried to move it's leg out of Eve's jaws, and blood started falling to the ground. Eve released it's leg, and darted under the Four Horn Buffalo, aiming for it's other back leg.
"Quickly use......"
CRACK
Eve got out from under the Four Horn Buffalo, and turned her body around after she cleared the underbelly of the Four Horn Buffalo. Eve turned her body around, and a slight brown light coated her teeth as she bit down on the other leg, and the sound of the bones of the other back leg of the Four Horn Buffalo breaking interrupted Roy's command.
The Four Horn Buffalo collapsed to the ground with a cry as Eve released the leg from her jaws, and she leaped onto the Four Horn Buffalo's back, a slight brown light visible around her jaws as she latched onto the Four Horn Buffalo's back and bit down. The Four Horn Buffalo shook itself furiously, and Eve opened her jaws, letting go of the Four Horn Buffalo and leaping off the Four Horn Buffalo and turning to face it. She started running forwards to the Four Horn Buffalo before a gruff voice sounded in the air.
"STOP! This match is over."
