"...Something you need to ask me?!?" Myeong was confused to say the least, he thought he would be the one asking the questions.
Kwan sat down beside Myeong and stared at the skyscraper with him before continuing on.
"You are fairly strong, you may even have the potential to surpass me someday..."
"..."
Myeong who wasn't familiar with such compliments remained confused for a few seconds before smiling and staring into the distance.
"Speaking of which, what's your Talent?"
"Talent, I suppose I'm good at fighting?"
"Ah right, you lost your memory.. Talents are references to your ability that differentiate you from most people, generally they may be related to your element but often there's an oddball that may have a more powerful ability."
"Oh what's your element?"
Kwan smiled and raised his palm to the sky.
[Skill activated : Ocean of fire]
The sky that was a clear shade of blue, suddenly lit on fire. Despite it's warmth, it bled the sky into a cold shade of red. After a few seconds though, it returned to it's former faded blue.
Myeong remained stunned from the feat and was reminded of the insane gap in strength.
"W-W-What about your Talent?"
Kwan chuckled.
"I don't think you'd want to witness my talent, never being on the other side of it."
"How did you become so strong?"
"By working hard of course, and commitment. Although I'm quite confidently the strongest in the entirety of the kingdom, and even perhaps the continent. I didn't inherit my strength from my parents, if that's what you were referring to. At one point I was weak, but that was a long time ago eh?"
Kwan paused. "It keeps me on my edge, I suppose, after all if life was easy, wouldn't it be slightly boring?" Kwan chuckled.
"What.. if I don't have a Talent.. Would that be normal?"
Kwan smiled and lowered his head before staring into Myeong's eyes.
"You probably haven't discovered it yet, if it isn't an element it may be a physical ability, in which case I'll sort something out.. Whether or not that is normal is a difficult question-"
"I feel like there's a condition though..."
"A minor condition. This may seem sudden. However, I want you to be my disciple. If your talent is 'fighting' I promise you that I can make you into the strongest warrior this continent has ever seen. As long as you can work hard enough to carve your path. I will always be here for you."
"You promise?"
"I will never let you down."
Kwan let out his hand, to help Myeong get up.
"It's your decision, ill respect it either way."
Myeong smiled, he reached towards Kwan's hand.
"Do you really expect me to refuse?" Myeong said jokingly as he pulled himself up.
***
2 days had passed between Myeong's first arrival and Kwan had summoned him to his workspace on the top floor.
"Myeong please take a seat."
Kwan pointed at a seat in the large room.
"Is everything okay?"
Myeong and Kwan stood up and Kwan walked him down a floor all the way to a special room. Although this was the Headquarters of Orlans, the strongest faction, the rooms and resorts seemed more like a luxurious hotel. This room especially, was no exception.
"This is the place you'll be staying, what do you think?"
The bedroom he received was almost 3 times larger than the hospital room he was previously staying in and after further inspection he saw multiple doors which led to his personal kitchen and swimming pool on the balcony. It was decorated pretty well, with crystal chandelier, that hung elegantly above the kitchen.
Although there was a clear white colour scheme, making it seem modern, there was no mistaking the fact that each individual space was detailed and tailor-decorated to match Myeong's taste. From the fireplace in the living room, to the bed sheets, it seemed heavenly.
Myeong was severely grateful for it and immediately sunk into his bed. Kwan smiled and pointed at a white-plated object with steel edges and a lid that closes like a tomb. After further inspection, Myeong realised it had a soft mattress on all sides of the interior.
"There are called stasis chambers and there are only 6 of these in the kingdom and 4 of which people in my family or clan owns, this is the 4th one which was unoccupied. The effects of it are very spectacular if you use it right." Kwan smirked. "I won't give you any more hints, think of this as my 'First test' as your teacher. Speaking of which, it's getting late I should leave you and get to my own room. Farewell!"
"See you later!"
Myeong stared at the TV in his room, attached to which was several video games that may 'help him' in his training. Myeong turned it on and started playing, although the stasis chamber that laid in the corner of the room, never left his mind.
Eventually, when Myeong felt tired, he carried himself to his bed, but he couldn't sleep. After staring at the stasis chamber for multiple minutes, he leapt out of bed to further inspect it. Myeong stared at the stasis chamber harder, from the outside it seemed almost like a death trap rather than a place to sleep in.
Myeong sighed.
"My bed is far more comfortable and I don't doubt I could fall asleep in minutes. Yet, Kwan instructed me to try the stasis chamber. It would be rude of me not to."
The tomb had a metallic smell, that was very distinct, Myeong struggled to find any comfort in the fact that at any time, a metal lid could drop on him during his sleep.
"Oh what, you only live once." Myeong convinced himself.
He carefully opened the lid and rested both of his legs on the mattress, followed by his arms and then his legs. He noticed a small handle inside that he could pull to close the lid. He checked thoroughly to ensure none of his body would be crushed if the lid came down, before hesitantly laying in it and closing the seal...
