Chereads / One Piece: The Devil of the Seas / Chapter 98 - Chapter 97

Chapter 98 - Chapter 97

Tsuru left for Marineford after she had lunch with them and met the new members of his Family and Crew.

They were quite surprised, especially Desire when she saw how he got along so well with the legendary Great Staff Officer of the Marines.

And she very seriously asked him whether the Vice-Admiral was his real grandmother as they watched the Marine Ship leave.

"I do think of her as my Granny." He honestly told her, but then excused himself away as he went inside the Submarine to grab a backpack.

Everyone was curious when he handed it to his sister with a bright smile.

"For you."

Robin curiously opened it, and then her eyes widened in excitement when she found the notebooks he had prepared on Star Island.

"Thank you!" She hugged him, and then straight left for her room to study the new language that he had discovered and to read everything that was written inside the Temple, which he had recorded in these notebooks.

"I guess we won't be seeing her at dinner tonight." Bonney giggled, very familiar with Robin's personality and how crazy the younger Black was about new languages and history.

She truly was the daughter of an Archaeologist and a Scholar.

Bepo laughed at her words and nodded his head, and then excused himself away to go take a nap, and he dragged Shachi and Penguin with him, who now quite admired his strength.

One by one, everyone else left too, and finally, the redhead excused herself away.

"I am going to take a walk around the city." She informed them before leaving.

Hiyori, Yamato, and Lily were already being shown around the place by the younger girls, who seemed quite happy today to have found new friends.

Grount, who had been asleep when they arrived in the morning, had woken up by breakfast, and since he was the youngest person in the crew now, Nami was quite happy about it that she had found someone to bully.

Sin did not stop her from her antics as he knew that she would never go too far and hurt him. The little goblin was way too kind to truly bully someone.

And Grount seemed happy too to meet children his age. It had only taken him a few minutes to get along with Bonney as well, who always had her way of getting along with the lids.

"Are you really going to give your Granny those two Fruits?" The pink head curiously asked as she walked down the beach with him.

"Yes."

"Those two are precious fruits." She reminded him. "Simca is fine, but you don't even know Kujaku."

"True." He smiled. "But if Granny thinks well of her, it means that she has raised her right and the girl possesses a good heart."

"You trust her a lot, don't you?" She smiled.

"She has never given me a reason to not trust her. Besides, she has put a lot of trust in me too." He shrugged, and she smiled at him.

It was something that she could not deny.

After all, Tsuru had helped them a lot and was still helping them.

"What are you going to give Vigaro?" She asked. "He's quite talented and a Devil Fruit would be a great boon to him."

"The Wyvern Fruit. When I met him, I knew that I had found my Second Protector."

She surprisedly looked at him and then smiled again.

"Congratulations."

"Thank you." Sin chuckled at her words and let out her beautiful purple eyes. "And you already know what I intend to give Pascia."

"Yes, but do you have something in mind for Nojiko, Shachi, and Penguin? All three of them want Devil Fruits. I was hoping you would give the Shatter Shatter Fruit to Nojiko."

"I am hoping to let them make their choice. We have a few really good Devil Fruits, and I found another one in Star Island." He said and then took out a green Devil Fruit that he had been keeping in his pocket.

"What Fruit is this?"

"I don't know." He smiled. "However, I saw Nojiko sneaking glances at my coat today, and she was blanking out a little."

Bonney gaped at the implications of his words and amazedly looked at the Devil Fruit.

"It's a Mythical Zoan..."

"Yes."

"Why don't you give it to her already?"

"I don't want her to lose sight of her goal." He smiled, storing the Devil Fruit back inside his coat. "When she manages to unlock her Haki, I will give it to her."

Bonney understandably nodded to his words and then stopped to look right into her eyes.

"When are you taking us on a voyage? We are bored." She told him, and Sin could clearly sense that she was upset about him staying away for over two months and sailing the seas without them.

"We will leave for Winterheim tomorrow, and then we will see where the Log Pose takes us next."

"Yay!" The pink head jumped at him, turning into a young girl, and then settled herself on his shoulders. "Let's go tell Nami and Vivi!"

"Can't we tell them when they return?"

"Nope! Let's go."

"Aye, aye..." He chuckled and then started walking towards the city.

The people of Erumalu were extremely happy to see them, and as they walked down the streets, the citizens kept greeting him and thanking him for all that he and his crew had done and were doing for the city.

Sin was quite impressed with all the Icy decorations that Robin had created throughout the place, which now had very pleasant weather even when the sun burned the rest of Sandy Island.

He also noticed the presence of tourists in the city, and their numbers were not low. This place was truly an attraction that no one wanted to miss after hearing about it. And he could not help his smile when he arrived at the centre of the city and saw a large icy field, where dozens of people were happily skating and having the time of their lives.

At some point, as they travelled around the City, Vigaro, who had been taking a walk as well, started following them, not saying a single word, and neither Bonney nor Sin said anything to him.

"Sin!" Nami and Vivi were showing their new friends around the shopping street when they spotted them coming, and the orange head straight ran up to him. "You brought a gift for me, right?" She expectantly asked, and it was truly a miracle that she had held back the question for all these hours.

"Nope." He grinned at her, and she furrowed her brows and pouted at him.

"Mean!"

"Thanks." He laughed and then gently patted her head. "We are leaving for Winterheim tomorrow." He told her, and the smile that appeared on her face was heartwarming.

"Vivi will come with us, right?" She asked, and the Princess was already by her side, expectantly looking at him.

"Yes." He nodded, much to their glee, and the two girls ran towards their base to pack their things up.

Sin turned to look at Yamato, who had a very beautiful monkey sitting on her shoulders, whose soulful eyes were staring at him.

"Hey, Hit."

"Oo a oo a!" The Monkey greeted him, and he reached forward to caress its crown.

"I am fine." He told the crowned monkey and everyone curiously looked at him.

"You can understand what he just said?" Desire curiously asked, and he just smiled at her question.

"Maybe."

Apparently, Hit was extremely popular amongst the kids of the City now, who all laughed and giggled when they saw him sitting on Yamato's head and happily waved at him. In return, the prideful monkey just kept swinging its fluffy tail, not really paying attention to any of them.

"Bonney! Come play with us!" A group of kids from the skating field eagerly called out to her.

"Not today!" She told them and waved at them before hugging Sin's head again.

Bonney suddenly felt someone jump on her shoulder, and she giggled when she saw Lily, in her miniature form, now sitting there.

Hiyori and Desire could not help their giggles as they watched the two girls sitting on Sin, using him as their ride.

"You can not change the size of living things, right?" The pink-head curiously asked.

"No." Lily shook her head. "Blyue can do it though. I have seen him use Mini Mini Fruit on other Giants and animals."

"Blyue?"

"He was once part of the Giant Warrior Pirates."

"We met Dory and Brogy."

"Sin told me." She nodded her head and smiled. "The two of them are legends in Elbaf. And I don't know how Blyue can do it. I have tried, but it seems like I can't change the size of other living things."

"He has probably achieved his Devil Fruit awakening. And you will be able to do the same once your powers have awakened."

"Devil Fruit Awakening?"

"Yes!" She smiled. "You gain more power, more freedom, and a boost too. Paramecia awakenings are especially very exciting. However, it isn't easy to awaken your Devil Fruit Powers, and it is harder to awaken Paramecia Devil Fruits than it is to awaken Zoan Devil Fruits."

"What about Logia?" Desire curiously asked, and Bonney grinned at her.

"It's extremely hard to awaken a Logia Devil Fruit. Even Sin, despite his ridiculous proficiency of his Powers, hasn't achieved his awakening yet."

"How do you awaken your Devil Fruit?" The redhead frowned.

"To achieve the awakening, your body and mind must catch up with your Devil Fruit Powers. You can't awaken your Devil Fruit without being proficient in Haki. All the recorded Devil Fruit Users with Awakened Powers have had some Proficiency in Haki. I guess, it has something to do with the Willpower." Sin informed them. "And even if your body and mind can keep up with the Powers, you can't achieve an awakening if your desires don't match that of the Devil Fruit."

"What does that mean?" She frowned.

"It means that if you are uncomfortable with your Powers, you can not achieve an awakening. It also means that if you don't have the desire for more, you can't achieve an awakening. Your desires must be in sync with that of your Devil Fruit. And yes, Desire, Devil Fruits have desires. They are manifestations of desires." Bonney playfully said, and the redhead smiled at her words.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome!" Bonney said, and Sin smiled when she rubbed her face on his head.

"Good job." He softly whispered to her, and she giddily giggled at his compliment.

She always remembered all the lessons he gave her, even if she pretended to not show any interest in them.

"I am the best." She told him.

"You are." And he nodded, much to her glee.
