Jin shook his head slowly, as if in amazement. "It doesn't bother me."
"Even though Akira sent it to me?"
Jin took the necklace gently from her hand and examined it closely, the chain flowing through his fingers. "I made this for you. Akira didn't have time to have a gift prepared, so I went to the smithy and made this so he would have something to send you." He put the necklace down on the writing table. "I've been watching you wear it every day since you arrived here. At the time I thought I was just being helpful, but it's ironic, now…"
Without a word, Saera slipped forward and straddled his lap, twining her hands around his neck. His hands came up automatically to steady her, pressing against her waist and the small of her back.
"What are you doing?" Jin laughed, and she pressed her lips to his.
