"Jin, ah…"
He glanced at her casually, the pencil tucked behind one ear. He eyes were so beautiful, wide and soft like a doe's eyes.
"I've had this idea since I was a child. I want to build some sort of sanctuary for animals that are receiving medical treatment or care." Jin stopped and listened, giving her his full attention. "It wouldn't have to be too large, just enough for the animals that need it. That way I could care for them continually as they heal, instead of leaving them in someone else's care." Jin tilted his head to one side, so she felt the need to explain. "I don't know if you were told that I cared medically for wounded animals with my family."
"I know your family came to power by breeding horses."
"Not just horses." Saera smiled, remembering past days. "Exotic cats. Hunting and herding dogs. Messenger birds. Our trainers are the best."
Jin was looking at her intently. "You studied animal medicine?"
