"Is this a good idea?"
Saera turned and hissed frantically to Risa. The girl, knowing her friend's ways, simply raised an eyebrow. "You told me you liked him."
"I… I do. But I just met him!"
"Would you like to stop the wedding?" Shisui's tone was calm, as if he spoke of an everyday occurrence. Saera started at his suggestion, and realized he was serious. He would do it if she asked, regardless of the implications.
She faltered, looking between her friend and cousin. "That's not what I want."
"Would you like to continue with the wedding?" Risa followed Shisui's lead, offering Saera the choice.
Saera nodded. "I am just… nervous."
The priest announced her name in booming tones that echoed through the bamboo screen with ease. Risa pushed her friend forward, and Shisui gave her his arm.
"A finer man than this, we're not likely to find," Risa scolded her friend. "Now go."
