Saera stood, breaking custom, and took the reins from the man. Careful to keep her skirts clean, she led the horse to where Jin sat in astonishment, his lips parted in surprise. Saera gave him a small bow, ignoring the fact that she was now his equal in rank, and presented her gift.
"As you created something beautiful for me, I hope you will accept the fruits of my talents, as well." She stroked a hand down the horse's side. The horse stood taller than her, much taller than the short, stocky horses used more commonly in the region. It's neck and legs were long and graceful. The horse's tail flicked elegantly, but it stood quietly and calmly, as Saera knew it would - she had raised this horse herself, and would have trusted few others in a hall filled with onlookers and noise.
