"What did you want to talk about Joshua?", I asked him once I had kept the ice cream in the freezer and we were both alone in the living room. Thankfully, Leo and Aurora weren't there, and had probably gone out or something. As for Gabby, I assumed she was in her room, binging on Netflix series.
"Issy, these past few weeks, I've been recovering from my surgery, and not once have you enquired about my recovery. I understand that Bethy might have not informed me about you calling me back, but you could have called back again right?", he said and I let out a sigh.
I just shrugged and replied,"Joshua, I could say the same to you. You could have called me back as well, the phone works both ways you see."
I knew I was being irrational and downright mean to him, but if I wanted to let go of him and free of all the drama that would bring by being with him, I knew I had to do it, so despite my heart breaking, I maintained my stoic self and spoke nonchalantly.
