"Issy, why don't you go home and rest, while Gabby and I will go and shop for the essentials for our new home",Aurora suggested and though I knew she was saying that for my own good, I didn't want to let them take all the responsibilities for our new place.
"You girls can just order the stuffs online and get it delivered to your new address. That way, it would save you the trip as well",he suggested and we took his advice.
So, having nothing else to do, Joshua took us to Zeke's office for a look around and then to his clinic. He showed us around the whole block, and even introduced us to some of the local business owners around there. It was a very kind and generous gesture on his part and I could only admire him for that.
"Shall we have our lunch and then head home?",he asked and we nodded a yes in agreement and he took us to an eatery nearby. "You are a local true and true. No doubt about that",I chuckled and he shrugged.
"This place is small but offers some of the best food you'd love",he said. "Bob, what's the special today?",he asked Bob, apparently the owner of the eatery, who replied with a big grin on his face,"Only your favourites Doc, coming right up. For the four of you?". "Yep, for the four of us",Joshua replied.
I wondered if Joshua was close to all the business owners on this part of the city, from the way they conversed with each other. He seemed to be the type of guy who was aloof and of cold demeanor at the first glance, but this man was very down to earth and humble, and loved by all.
Both the Williams brothers were blessed with good genes, as well as good people. They'd both make great husbands to some lucky wives someday, I mused as we waited for the food to arrive. Before the food arrived,I decided to use the restroom and after I was done, came back and sat beside Gabby.
We didn't have to wait for long when the owner Bob himself brought out our food and placed it in front of us,"Our very special Meatloaf, shepherd's pie, pot roast and gravy, and macaroni and cheese, for the special guests". I had expected something out of the box or something unique but here it was, just the regular lunch, but still I was hungry so I didn't mind it.
"Try it first and then you'll know how special it is",he winked at us and I guessed he might have seen the dejected reactions of Gabby and Aurora and probably mine as well, though I tried to hide it . Joshua chuckled and said,"Don't worry Bob, I'm sure they'll realize how special your food is after trying it out and become your regulars".
We all dug into our food and I realized what they meant when they said it was their special. The food was extra ordinary and we couldn't help finishing our plates empty. Maybe it was the food or it was the hunger, either ways, we all downed our plates empty.
After food was done, we asked for the bill and we insisted on paying it so Joshua obliged and we paid it. We always had the habit of going Dutch so we did just that, of course, I ended up paying for now and we'd collect it later at home.
"So, what next?",Joshua asked and I realized I hadn't asked whether it would be convenient for the two of them to commute to their work. "Gabby, Aurora, how far will it be for you guys to commute to your workplace?",I asked them both.
"Mine's just next block, so I don't even have to board a bus",Gabby replied, so it only left with Aurora. "Mine is more of like yours. I'll be doing most works at home so its no issue for me",Aurora shrugged.
Since our issues were solved,we decided to head home. As we stood up to leave, my eyes fell on a red head and a man, sitting in a corner. My eyes filled with unexpected tears when I recognized who the man was.
Roy Davis and Alyssa Fuller, were engrossed in a deep conversation and didn't seem to notice us. Joshua and the rest followed my line of sight and saw the reason why I was teary eyed.
"Lets go Issy",Gabby took me away. Joshua, who was still confused earlier at my sudden change in reaction, seemed to come to an understanding as well, and led us out to leave for home.
