Its a wonder how time flies by quickly when you're having fun and with your loved ones. Just like that, the weekend was over and it was time for all of us to return to the city and venture into the rat race of surviving in the real world.
It felt like just yesterday we were enjoying the riverside and fishing and now we stood outside to bid farewell to my parents and Leo. "Hey man, drop in to visit sometime",Zeke, who had become close friends with Leo, told him. "Sure, I might just drop in unannounced to bunk in with you guys",he added.
"Issy dear, you do know that your dad and I support you whole heartedly? You can work here at your uncle's, and we will be here to take care of you and the baby",my mom said to me.
"Mom,don't worry,I'll be fine with these people by my side, and if it doesn't work out, I know I always have you guys to fall back to",I reassured her. "Don't worry Nora, we'll take good care of the two of them. You can well rest assured",Aurora told her.
My dad came to give me a nice, warm hug and said,"My darling girl,we're just a call away if you need anything"."Sure dad. I love you both",I told my mom and dad,"And you as well Leo",I added.
"Shall we?",Joshua called out to me and I sat in his car as suggested by him,so he could take better care of my health issues if need arose. Aurora and Gabby sat in Zeke's Lexus which had been sent to my address after having it repaired.
"Bye,take care you all",I waved my final byes as he started driving the car away. "Here, use this", he handed me the tissues and I could only take them and wipe my tears which were flowing ever so freely. "Thanks", I muttered between my sniffs and he chuckled. I was a grown ass woman and here I was, crying my eyes out.
"Its the pregnancy hormones I suppose. I'm normally stronger than this", I tried to joke, apparently trying to cover up the embarrassing situation. He glanced at me a with a serious look and said,"You are strong no doubt about that". I gave him a wry smile, not believing a word of it cause in my head,if I were stronger, I wouldn't have let Roy use me despite knowing that he was cheating on me, but I kept those thoughts to myself.
After driving for a couple of hours, I asked him if he could find some place to stop for me to use a restroom as my bladder was almost about to burst. But woe to me cause there was only trees all around and not a sight of motels for a long stretch. He stopped and parked his car nonetheless, and Zeke's car which was just behind us,followed suit.
"What's wrong, why did you park here?Issy, are you feeling alright?",Zeke asked and I said,"I'm alright,just...nature calls". Zeke nodded an awkward ok.
"Take them with you and finish your business",Joshua simply turnned to me and told me and I called out the girls, embarrassed enough but what else could I do. It wasn't the time for me to be ladylike but attend to my pregnant body nature calls,no matter how awkward it got.
"I'd say, go for Mcdreamy. He's obviously caring, practical and obviously very good looking",Gabby babbled on while I was busy doing my business and on the lookout for leeches or other creepy creatures that might crawl up anytime. What I was most afraid of was snakes and I hated leeches and worms and I couldn't be interested in any of Gabby's insane match making ideas.
After attending to my nature call, we went back to where the guys were waiting for us. I sat in the car and buckled up my seat belt. Joshua handed me a bottle of orange juice and I laughed out loud. "What?",he said, looking confused at my sudden burst of laughter and I found that cute.
"Do you always carry orange juice with you for all your pregnant patients?I mean, don't get me wrong, its really cute,I mean, kind of you",I blurted out,now slightly embarrassed at my behavior. I hope he didn't find me ungrateful.
He smiled back at me,"Only for the special ones",and I didn't know what to reply to that. Were Gabby and Aurora right? Did Dr. Williams really have the hots for me? But I dismissed it thinking that he only thought so cause I was Zeke's friend.
We drove off after that and he only occassionally glanced my way, probably checking in to see if I was feeling any discomfort. I leaned my head on the headrest and dozed off.
