Chapter 9 - Quirk Test

Sorry for the late upload, was busy.

Time Skip (6 months)

It's been another half year, I've kept the same training with my dad and the Pussycats. Takao heard about my training and asked if he could join, the Pussycats agreed but he had to follow the same conditions as Jiro. Jiro however has held back a bit on training, it's not that surprising, she's only 6 and I think Pixie only started training at the age of 7. Takao and I are built differently, we've been training since I was 3 and he was 3. Also, Takao is in fact 1 year older than me, he trained a year before I even knew him. This also might explain why I didn't see him in any of the My Hero I watched, no love for class 2-A I guess. 'Or he might've just gone to a different school, idk.'

As for my quirk, it has developed well with my body. My capacity has increased and so has my technique. I haven't had many breakthroughs in abilities for my quirk. The most important things I've been able to accomplish is a small black hole and a small white hole. Black holes suck in the space around them while white holes expand space out of it. Basically I'm able to cause a mini explosion and implosion. I'm also working on another type of teleportation, swap. The idea is to swap positions with another person or object. 'Like a substitution jutsu from naruto.' Also, maybe a vibration technique would be neat, I could vibrate a sword so fast it could cut through diamond.

As for actual statistics cause I know y'all are nerds. (Remote Teleportation - Current Max: 275m, 15% energy consumption at max. (Long Distance Teleportation - Current Max: 1.4km, 22.5% energy consumption. (Space Bullet - Current Max: to destroy tree, 2.5% energy consumption. (Space Cut - Current Max: Varies based on object cut, but a tree takes 7.15% energy consumption. (Portals - Current Max: 30m, 7.5% energy consumption. (Gravity Manipulation (g) - Current max: 2.35 times gravity. Energy consumption varies based on how far away from the host, but from self, 3% energy consumption a minute. (Velocity Control - Current Max: Varies based on velocity and how much of it you want to change. Redirecting a punch costs .75% energy.

Those are the main uses I've found for my quirk so far, but I think I'm making great progress. As for what I'm doing today, my quirk test has finally arrived. At 6 years old you go to elementary and with that comes a government required test for quirks to have a solid record. I don't think I'll lie, but I won't tell the whole truth. I talked to everyone that knows the capabilities of my quirk, mainly the Pussycats, Takao, and Jiro, to not say anything about my quirk. I had to bring up the friend card because they were against me 'lying' on the test, but they have know idea who All For One is so I didn't let them say no.

Anyways, I think I'll just say I have a weak warping quirk, it kind of is if you compare it to All For One and Kurogiri being able to warp literally 10's of kilometers without much sweat, but my quirk is more versatile. We finally arrive at the doctors, my mom's with me and we head up to meet the doctor. As we enter the medical room I can easily see, 'this is not our doctor.' He's a short round fellow with a bald head and a mustache probably in his 60's. He kind of looks like Midoriya's Doctor in season one.

He asks me about my quirk and I give him a general idea, "It's a warping quirk. It lets me portal up to 15 meters away and teleport up to 500m. It really drains my energy though. I can teleport at max distance 5 times before I have to take a long nap, also it requires a few seconds of focus for me to do." At first he seemed very interested, but after hearing the drawbacks and the weak range he looks less enthusiastic. 'Come on man, that should still be impressive for a 6 year old right?' I'm a little self conscious. "Alright, a general warping quirk with a drawback of physical fatigue," he says in a very factual voice, "Anything else?" "Nope that's it," am I actually weak? "Alright, we'll move to a practical test to test your theories, we'll be moving into a special area for this," he gets up very slowly and slowly walks out the door. 'Jeez, he's only 60 yet he acts 100.'

We entered a padded room under the facility. It's very spacious being at least 50m by 120m. He asks me to test my quirk. "I've never heard of this before," my mother voices her concerns. "It's a special test for certain quirks. Emitter type quirks especially are tested here to gain further insight into the logic behind quirks. For example, people with telekinesis usually get this test and have brain diodes hooked to their head to see the electrical signals coming out. I promise this is completely safe and we won't have to hook anything to your child for this test," the doctor tries to reassure. 'This sounds extremely sketchy, I've never heard of this even in the anime. Is this the doctor character?' My mom and the doctor enter a room adject to this one with a large clear window looking into the room. "Ota I know this might seem strange but it's just a practical test. Use your quirk as you normally would and we'll be out of here in no time."

My mom seems worried, it feels like I'm a guinea pig being watched by scientists. 'I don't think I can refute, I'll just do a couple portals and teleport once or twice and act really exhausted afterwards. If this is the doctor I read about, I should present my quirk as nothing special. ' I get in a relaxed position and hold my hand up making a portal around 10 feet away from me. I then walk through it and end up on the other side closing it behind me afterwards. "Does your portal normally close after one object enters and exits, or can more than one go through?" the doctor asks and I reply, "More can go through it but I get a little more exhausted each time." This is actually true but the energy required is very minimal, something like .5% energy for me to go back through. "Alright, please teleport to the otherside of the room now," he asks as if asking a text subject.

I get back into a relaxed stance and delete the space and remote teleport. I opt to remote teleport over long-distance so my fatigue looks more real. I teleport to the opposite side of the room and look back at the doctor. He looks at some equipment and then gets excited for some reason, "What did you just do?" "I teleported," I gave him the obvious. "No, I mean, describe to me what you did." 'This is sketchy, did he realize my quirk didn't act as I described? Could the devices measure space in the area or something? I've never heard of anything like that in my past life but it could be possible. I can't let him discover more of my quirk.' "I just teleported, I thought of wanting to be over here and I did." He didn't like my explanation much, "Anything else? Did you think of being there like changing where you were or getting there in an instant like moving through the distance," he seems really excited and a bit annoyed but my nonchalant attitude, definitely not the kind of doctor that should be around kids. I visibly display fake confusion and ignorance, "I don't know." "Can you do it again," he asks me seriously. "I don't want to," I give a discouraged and sort of scared face.

"That's enough." My mom looks at the doctor with a somewhat mad face. "Mam, your son might have a quirk not seen before," the doctor tries to protest. "I don't care, my son says he doesn't want to so he won't. He showed you once so that should be good enough," my mother tells him sternly. Unable or unwilling to argue, the man nods his head, and we head back up into the regular doctor's room. "So the idea I've come up with is 2 quirks. The teleporting quirk and the portal quirk. It is possible for them to be the same quirk, but it's even less likely for his quirk to have 2 very different uses like this than for it to be seperate." "Why did you say he might have a quirk not seen before," my mother questions.

"Well, if it's the same quirk then it's one not seen before. We've seen people with the ability to open portals and we've seen people with the ability to teleport. If your son has the 1 quirk but the 2 applications, it could mean he possesses an abridge ability of the 2," he says in deep thought. "I'm not following, what do you mean," my mom, like me, is also unsure what he's talking about. "For example, there's a boy with the power of creating ice and fire. Originally they were 2 different quirks but they fused and met a common ground with thermal fluctuation. I believe he is one of the combinations finding a common ground between teleportation and portals." "So what does that mean, what's his quirk?" He closes his eyes to ponder mom's question, "Displacement? Absolute Distance? It's hard to say but for right now I'll just put it down as 2 seperate quirks, portal and teleportation. If it's what i think it is though it could have even further applications. Please be sure to come back anytime you discover anything about your quirk."

Me and my mom leave not long after getting assigned 2 quirks. On the way home, I question my quirk. 'He's right, my 'quirk' isn't really even a quirk. It's just pure manipulation of space and spatial energy. Kurogiri's quirk turned his body into his portals, I just have spatial energy running in my veins. On that note, what about Deku's quirk? He had those lines of power run through his body when he powers up. Maybe I'm like that, except an emitter rather than an enhancer? My power is also like Deku's in the fact that I can feel it grow. His power is stockpiled based on the more people that have and use it, mine gets stronger by time.'

(Narrator)

After Ota leaves the office, the man sits in his chair and thinks. 'I really think that was the next evolution. I should call up Shigaraki and tell him about the child.' The man pulls out his phone and calls someone. "Kyudai, what is it," The man on the other end asks. "Sir, I might have found the next evolution." "Is that right? This seems like something too special to be discussed over the phone, I'll have you here now," a black-grey sludge then comes from the doctors mouth and surrounds the doctor before dissipating to find the doctor gone.

In an undisclosed location, Doctor Kyudai and All For One talk. "So, you think his quirk can do more than just teleport and portal?" "Yes, the equipment showed a weird drop in air pressure after he used his quirk. Also the equipment used to track Kurogiri's quirk was present. It went off for both the portal and teleportation. I can't be sure but he might have an even greater quirk than Kurogiri." AFO intrigued by the idea a normal child could have greater power than one of his genetically modified Nomu seems very interested in the idea, "We should watch his development, if what you say is right he would make good use in the future. Now unfortunately is not the time, All Might has been very keen on destroying our allies as of late. We can't have more of our organization troubled by the Symbol of Peace. Place some to look over the boy and watch his development."

(Ota)

After arriving home I think more and more about the experience. 'That really didn't feel right. First a random doctor does my test, then we go down to a special quirk testing room, and finally he goes on a rant about my quirk being never seen before. He even somehow had an idea about my quirk deleting the space rather than just teleporting.' My spidey senses are tingling but I'm unable to act. There's nothing for me to do, so I guess I'll just enjoy peace right now.
