Jack entered the chambers room and another long corridor with many doors on each side was what greeted him.
"How big is this place? The palace looked big on the outside, but it seems like it's even bigger on the inside. How is that possible?"
Jack looked at all the doors and decided to enter the one nearest him. "Might as well go one by one right?"
Just when Jack tried to open the door he noticed that he couldn't open it. No matter how much strength or dexterity he tried to use the door would not even flinch.
"What the hell is wrong with this door? There is no keyhole here so it should open! Is this a decoration door or what? Might as well try the next one."
Jack tried to open next door, and the result was the same than the previous one. "Is this a prank or what?"
This time Jack stopped for a minute and he looked at the door very intensely. He focused on the carvings, materials, color. It seemed like there was only the door in front of him and everything else vanished, his eyes glowed a deep golden color for a second before disappearing. After 5 full minutes he exited that weird state of full focus he didn't even come to notice and saw something.
"There is something floating on the door, it's too ethereal to see. I can only see like little specks of dust but golden in color. It seems familiar to me but at the same time it doesn't, I can barely see them. If I don't focus I would miss them for sure. Are these things the ones that block the door? Maybe I should go see the previous door again."
And just as he said, he went back to the previous door and looked carefully at it and he saw the same little specks of golden dust.
"Just what I thought. So I can't enter the doors with the dust it seems. I wonder if there is any door that doesn't have any dust."
Jack went from one door to another, all of them got some dust, there were less doors every time and it started to seem like Jack would not get anything from this long walk.
"Only four doors left, and these look different from all the previous ones. As long as I can enter one of those four I will be happy already."
Jack looked at the last four doors. One of them was a wood door that look pretty simple, too simple for a palace like this, but it was because of that simplicity that it stood out, especially when it was at the end of the corridor next to the other three doors.
The second one was an iron door with two crossed swords painted on it that made Jack think that the person who lived there should be either quite strict and direct or just and edgy guy. Even though it was just a painting he had the feeling he could get cut by those swords. But he was not stupid enough to try that.
The third but second most impressive door was a beautiful door, it was made of a material Jack didn't know of and a beautiful painting of birds and a lake could be seen on the door. Jack even had the misconception that the birds moved at one moment. But he thought it was just his imagination.
And the fourth and last door was a red door. A plain red door. An intense feeling of dread was what that door evoked. "I will leave that one for the last if it even opens. I will start with the most simple since I'm curious who would want a simple wood door in such a luxurious palace."
He looked at the door and saw that there was no dust on it. "Seems like I'm finally getting some luck, dad always said that luck always found the Immortal Family when they needed it. Ok let's see what is inside here."
Jack opened the door and an intense smell of paper came to his nose and when he entered he understood the reason of that smell. "Why is there a library in the chambers hall?"
Jack got a bit confused but then he saw a big bed above a big mountain of books in the middle of the library. "Who the fuck was the weirdo who lived here? There is no way someone slept there. That person must be insane. And why is there a mountain of books under the bed when there are so many bookshelves. But they all seem full..."
Jack grabbed a random book from the bookshelf next to him and tried to read it.
"What is this language? It's not english, spanish, arabic, chinese or anything similar. If it was any language known on Earth I would surely be able to read it. But this is too weird."
Jack put the book back where it was before taking some more of them just to put them back after not being able to understand anything that was written on them.
"Are there only books here? If I can't read them then this room is useless for me. Come on, there must be something that I could use in this big room."
Jack browsed through all the library but there only seemed to be books that he didn't understand. "There really are only books here! Books I can't read and a bed on top of a mountain of more books I can't read!"
Then a thought struck Jack's mind. "Wait a second, could there be something on top of the bed? There must be right? I mean, no matter how weird the person who lived here was, that person should not have only books right?"
Just as Jack thought of that he went to the mountain of books and started to climb it to get to the bed while at the same time repeating the same thing over and over again on his head. "Please not a book, please not a book, please not a book."
Just when he reached the bed on top and a small smile threatened to appear on his face, despair was what finally seemed to appear on it.
"Fuck the weirdo who lived here! Living in a library full of books and on your bed you have a parchment! Might as well have another book, then the joke would be even funnier! Ok Jack, calm down. Yes it's also paper, but it's not a book, so maybe it will have something else you can read."
Just when Jack got hold of the parchment and opened it to try to read it, the despair on his face turned to anger.
"It's empty!!! There's nothing on it!!! Ok, I'm done with this room, there was nothing useful here, I'm sure that the person who lived here was even a pervert who likes to make jokes on people. Only books and an empty parch..."
Just when Jack was gonna climb down the mountain to exit the room and took a last look at the parchment, a loud bang was heard on his mind no less noisy than the Big Bang before a huge influx of images and words entered his brain at the same time he lost his conscience.
After who knows how long, Jack regained conscience before noticing he was back on the corridor between the four doors.
"What the hell happened? I was cursing the owner on the room for only having books on it and then I heard something like and explosion. I can't remember anything after that or how I got back here."
Jack looked at the door again. And he saw that the door now had some little dust on it and he would not be able to enter again.
"Well, not like I would want to enter this room again. After all, I don't need books I can't read. Ok, let's try the next door, it seems like I can also enter the other three."
At that moment Jack didn't notice, but he was speaking a language he had not knowledge of before. Maybe those books he couldn't understand before would have helped him in the future with many things. But he could have never known how precious each of these books were for any being in the universe...
