Jack walked again towards the great door and pushed it open. He seemed to endure the feeling of dizziness much better.
"Ok, one more time. Come on!!!"
As if it had been summoned by his words, the shadow immediately appeared and shot towards him one more time.
Jack responded to the shadow's punch once again with his own punch. And this time it seemed like the shadow was at a bigger disadvantage than the previous one.
The shadow acted immediately with a strong kick. But Jack was already prepared for that and punched once again to where the knee should be in the shadow's leg. His eyes turning red, and his blood running like crazy through all his body.
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. So not happening again!!!"
Before the kick even managed to land on Jack's chest, his punch hit just on the shadow's knee.
A huge shockwave seemed to shake the place and the shadow seemed to have lost one leg.
"How can you still fight like that?"
The shadow was still floating in front of him, with one leg obviously crippled but still standing. It was still gazing at him, and something told Jack that the fight was not over.
"Hahaha, bring it on!!! I can do this all day."
Jack's eyes turned even redder with all the excitement the fight was giving him.
And the second clash happened with a long fight taking place.
Some time later, after nobody knows how many punches, kicks and even bites there seemed to be a winner.
Jack was bleeding all over, he had so many injuries on his body that anyone that took a look at him would think that he was on the verge of dying. But there he was, standing in front of a shadow that had already lost all its extremities with an unwavering fierce gaze.
He let out a small chuckle. "Second round?"
Suddenly the shadow disappeared and left Jack feeling stupid. "Come on it's not over yet!!! I still didn't manage to rip your head off!!!"
Just when all the adrenaline was leaving Jack's body, and he started to become conscious of the pain and his injuries, a light warmth surrounded him and he felt better than he had ever felt before in all of his lives. Or at least that's what he thought.
When that warmth left him he looked all over his body and he was absolutely dumbfounded. He had been healed of all his injuries and the blood seemed to have been cleaned.
"What kind of magic was that? Healing magic? That was incredible... If only I could have learned healing magic back then..."
Jack had his thoughts interrupted when a shadow materialized in front of him once again.
"Hahahaha. You want to resume the fight? Wait a second..."
That was when jack realized that the shadow that appeared in front of him, apart from having all its "injuries" healed was holding what seemed to be a sword.
"What happened? Were you afraid of losing with fists so you had to take a weapon to beat me? Then I'm afraid to let you down but I also have a weapon with me."
And then Jack took out the "legendary" sword that maybe was not so legendary.
"Let's begin with the second round."
And with those words, both swords clashed. Jack was fighting too defensive. Jack had never used a sword and the only thing he could do was win by brute force against the shadow.
But the shadow used graceful and fluent movements with the sword. It seemed like both sword and shadow were one being and they left no gaps for Jack to even counter-attack.
The shadow was fast, too fast. Jack believed that all those swordsmen from the movies were kids with a stick in front of the shadow. He had no chance to win, from the beginning he was at a disadvantage and he was not experienced with the sword.
Since he knew it was only a matter of time until he lost he did the only thing he could do. Study the shadow movements and try to improve as much as possible. It didn't matter if he lost this time, he could always come back again and he would eventually win.
"Yeah, enjoy this time. When I learn more I will cut you in half."
Jack was studying the shadow's movements. How it held the sword, his feet movement, the path the sword took... He even payed attention to some baits the shadow made. There were sometimes when it looked like he was gonna be attacked from the left when suddenly it was his right the one being targeted.
After some time and being gravely injured Jack was back again to the corridor. This time he was not pale and sweating all over like the previous one but he still had a bad face. So he sat and meditated for a while until he felt better, and pushed the door once again.
After who knows how many tries a different scene was taking place on the mysterious room.
The shadow seemed to be the one on the defensive and Jack the one with the upper hand. His movements were fast, and they seemed to become faster with every passing second. Attacking from the left, the right, up and down the shadow had no breathing room. Jack's eyes were blood red, and he was watching intently at the shadow's moves until he saw an opening.
"Die already!!!"
And Jack finally cut the shadow in half with an opening the shadow left on its left and with that, it disappeared.
"Yeah!!! Take that!!! The final winner is me!!!"
And just like the previous time, the light warmth surrounded Jack and healed him of all his injuries.
"I could get used to this. I wonder if there is any more enemy?"
Jack looked to the front and he waited a while but nothing happened.
"Was that the last one?"
As if laughing at his words a new shadow appeared in front of him and it seemed to be holding a staff.
"A grandpa?"
Just when Jack was gonna attack the shadow, he saw it wave the staff and all the room shook.
"What the hell is happening?"
He then saw all the mist from the room gather in the same place forming something he didn't know what it was and before he could even get a reaction or look around the room in search of the wizard he felt the mist surround him and crush him in a split second.
And there he was again. Back in front of the door. "What happened? The mist killed me but it was gathering to create something. How am I suppose to beat that?"
Jack tried to push open the door for a second try but this time the door didn't open. It seemed to have been closed definitely and it wouldn't open again no matter what Jack tried.
"I guess there is no use in staying here then. Might as well go to the last corridor. Magic sure is powerful, the thing with the mist was amazing even though I didn't manage to see what the mist was forming and the healing magic can save many lives..."
Jack was lost in his thoughts while he walked towards the last corridor.
"Ok, I hope I manage to find an exit this way. Because if I don't, I'm screwed."
Jack walked through the last corridor hoping to find an exit. He was already tired of so many secrets and things he didn't understand. Right now, there was nothing he wanted more than feeling the light of the sun on his body and the air hitting his face.
So he walked through the last corridor and got to a new room.
"Please just end this. I don't want any more rooms."
Jack looked around and there were no doors on the big room. There were beautiful decorations on the walls, paintings and a long red carpet that led to a big throne atop an altar.
The throne was really big, it was silver in color, but the colors of the rainbow seemed to flash past the throne every few second. It showed power, and made you feel respect just by looking at it. But Jack was more worried about something else than looking at the throne.
"There's no exit." Jack had a wry smile when he noticed there were no doors on the room. And that meant, he had no way to leave the palace.
"Ok, I'm gonna try catch some sleep and then I'll figure out what to do."
Jack walked towards the throne intending to sleep on it. Since the chambers had been locked after he entered them, the only two options left for him were either sleeping on the floor, which he was not going to do, or sleeping on the throne.
But who would have thought that when Jack was thinking about in which position he would sleep the best, the moment he sat on the throne, he disappeared.
Silence came back to the Throne Room. And the Bloody Palace remained the same, with nothing changed even though a "guest" had entered and exited.
Silence. Silence in the darkness was everything that remained.
