Chapter 4 - Shadows of Two Worlds Previously before first chapter

"Where am I?"* John pondered, the surroundings both alien and eerily familiar. A wave of nostalgia enveloped him. *"This feels like home, but how is that possible?"*

Lost in this surreal realm, John was unaware he was amidst a dream. An inexplicable force beckoned him towards an enigmatic figure. Without a second thought, he surrendered to the pull, rushing into the embrace of the mysterious presence.

Meanwhile, in that precise moment, Roger sensed an unfamiliar gaze upon him. A nagging sensation hinted at a void in his soul.

The sudden crash of shattered glass jerked John awake. The vivid landscape of his dream dissipated, leaving no trace behind. Waking up to the disarray in his living room, fear and confusion set in. He was certain someone was still lurking within. And he was right, but unbeknownst to him, he was the very agent of the chaos.

In a panicked frenzy, John dialed the police, reporting an intrusion and vandalism. To further investigate, he reached out to his security service. The footage revealed that before the ruckus, a shadowy figure had systematically disabled each camera. But one concealed lens remained operational. The recorded footage was straight out of a cinematic thriller: a dark silhouette stood majestically, arms extended, and suddenly, objects began whirling and crashing. The shadow dissipated the moment John awoke, creating an effect reminiscent of a scene from "End Game." Even after bolstering his security, the phenomenon persisted every night for a week, pushing John's sanity to its limits.

Elsewhere, in a dimension beyond comprehension, Roger led a life contrasting John's. In his universe, tranquility was unsettling. Roger's opulent abode, set on a pristine expanse, was the epitome of seclusion. Not by choice, but necessity. Despite being inherently kind-hearted, Roger possessed an uncontrollable, nocturnal violent streak. Yet, a curious twist of fate seemed to have intervened. The violent episodes that plagued him for 18 years had inexplicably ceased over the past week. For once, Roger experienced nights undisturbed, offering him a chance at true serenity.
