The Griffin stood up and walked towards the snacks, picking and eating them with his mouth. The answer he gave me was vague, but I decided to not ask anymore as it seems that he doesn't feel inclined to indulge in my curiosity.
I shifted my gaze to the old man beside me and asked, "Do I really have to go there?"
The old man, although looking worried, didn't shed a speck of objection as he answered, "You did say that you wanted to use your magic remember? If your magic remains a mystery even to yourself, then you might encounter problems in the future. Besides, since the celestial world is full of spiritual energy, it might make you stronger."
I remember memories of this old man, Sophia, master, and even Kayla, then that scene where the unconscious Kayla was shedding tears from fear. I don't want to see them suffer like that.
Thinking back, I already unconsciously wanted to become stronger to protect the people I care about. At the same time, I wanted to have the freedom I have dreamed of.
This world I transported to is a world that is not only full of wild beasts but also malevolent gods mindlessly destroying worlds. If that's the case, then I wouldn't let those entities destroy this life I now have.
"I'll do it," I said. If the only way to obtain the freedom I dreamt of and protect these people I care about is to get stronger, then I would do so with an iron resolve.
"But before that, how about the northern continent?" I asked. I was supposed to go to that place, to begin with, but we postponed it so that I could train for a few months. Although there is no deadline of sort, I still want to go to a school.
The old man answered me with a jolly smile on his face, "You can still go there after you return from the celestial reality. You are still a child after all, so learning a thing or two from the institute isn't necessarily useless."
"Okay. Then, when do we leave for Ius Viride?" I asked.
The old man looked at the Griffin who was busy snacking. Noticing this, the Griffin coughed a couple of times, before returning to his usual composure.
"As soon as possible," the Griffin said, "I could already feel a small crack in the material reality, so it wouldn't take long before a fissure occurs."
That would mean I would need to say goodbye to everyone soon. thinking of that, I prepared myself to visit Master and Kayla so that I could say my farewells.
"Do all celestial beings know that?" I asked the Griffin. He did say that he was from the original world, but how come residents of this reality cannot feel fissures in reality? That question still bothered me so I decided to ask.
"Indeed, I am originally from the celestial world. However, since I entered this material body, I was able to cross realities, allowing me awareness in case a fissure in reality occurs again."
The old man followed up, "Now, Velxia is the guardian of the forest, protecting it for the sake of having to live in it. But since a large part of the forest got destroyed and he expended most of his celestial essence to fight that celestial hydrangaea, he needs a place where he can be safe until he regains his strength."
Names I wasn't familiar with were spewed out from the old man's mouth. Celestial hydrangaea might have been the name of the giant winged three-headed snake, but I didn't expect the Griffin to have a name.
"I see, so you actually have a name," I muttered. A soaked biscuit came flying to my forehead, sticking like wet paper. The old man covered his mouth as he laughed, while Velxia who spewed that biscuit from his beak looked unamused.
Well I mean, he didn't even introduce himself so how would I know? Picking up a napkin to remove that biscuit in my forehead, I apologized before continuing our conversation.
"Earlier you said your child was missing," I asked, "What's that about?"
Velxia turned gloomy as he recalled what had happened months ago. Apparently, he decided to make a child by making use of his celestial energy. However, that child went missing, enraging Velxia to siege other territories in the forest, hoping to find his child.
In the end, four months have passed, Vexia was exhausted, yet he still wasn't able to find his child. Suddenly, because of the high concentration of celestial energy that Velxia unleashed, a small crack in reality occurred, allowing the entry of the celestial Hydrangaea.
Velxia, with the little strength he had remaining, tried to fight it off so that he could resume looking for his child. He was at a disadvantage because if he used all his remaining celestial energy, then there's a possibility that the Hydrangaea would win in the battle of stamina.
Luckily for him, I arrived. A human with the essence of infinity circulating in my body, allowing me to fight something, I could have not even touched to begin with.
Although the story of his made it sound like I was the hero, I felt agitated knowing that the cause of many beasts leaving and wreaking havoc was his doing.
That mean's that he was responsible for the bear incident a few months back. However, if I also lost someone important, then I would probably do the same thing.
Thinking of that, I can't help but feel a mixture of joy and weakness. I was a person who prioritized thinking before my own emotions, but now that my emotions have bloomed it just felt weird. Like all my thinking was now revolving around these emotions.
Is this what normal people feel? I asked inwardly to myself.
"Does your child also have white feathers?" I asked, "A few days ago, a carcass was dragged out of the storage from the village and was ravaged. All that remained in the scene was that ravaged carcass and a foot-long white feather."
Velxia's eyes lit up in joy as he listened to my story, "Yes, yes! That's probably his! Quickly let's go to the village!" He said as he jumped in all fours and spread his newly generated wings, signaling me to go on top of him.
Although I found his actions rather rash, I did have something to do at Bluior as well. Thinking of such, I asked Velxia to snack for a while so that I could change to more proper attire. After all, I was in pajamas.
Velxia snacked whilst waiting for me. After changing into more casual attire, we headed towards Bluoir so that he can get a clue from Master, and so that I could say my farewells.
