From Velxia's previous story about the origin of the world, he did say that a progenitor reality is stronger than its descendant realities, so it would make sense that the descendant reality decided to go for a higher progenitor reality to fight against the abyssal reality.
If I put this into an analogy, it's like having a pizza with four different flavors. Cutting them according to each flavor would result in different realities while cutting a part of the same flavor would be like a dimension within that reality.
The worlds, or planets, would be the toppings that make up its flavor, while the pizza box from where the pizza is placed would be infinity. The only difference is that you simply can't look at this pizza from a second-dimensional or three-dimensional point of view, as the descendant reality exists inside its progenitor reality and that the flavor of the earlier flavors of the pizza would be more overpowering than the latter flavors.
That would mean that although it's possible for the powerful entities of celestial reality to fight against the low-level entities of abyssal reality, the same couldn't be said for high-level abyssal entities because that would just be eating plain cheese before pepperoni.
"I guess that makes sense," I muttered, "but if that's the case, can't the gods just wipe out every abyssal entity? I mean, isn't infinity like the strongest reality or something?"
"Remember when I told you that they both exist and do not? It's because of that that they can't," Velxia folded his legs, sitting down on the grass beside me as he responded. "To gain even just a fracture of infinity, they would need to cease to exist."
"The only thing keeping them from not completely vanishing Is the prayers and worships of the people from this world, and from others." In layman's terms, they're basically on a lifeline, huh. I guess that means it's possible for the gods to run out of steam before successfully clearing the abyssal reality, thus resulting in reality without protectors.
"So they still exist. That's what you're saying right?" I asked for confirmation. "They do," Velxia responded, "but since they don't exist here in this reality, they don't. Inside Dorr Valia, there exists a reality separate from all other realities that can reach infinity."
"If I have to put it into words, a reality unbounded by the innate laws of realities," Velxia summarized, "to counter their disappearance from all of the realities and being reduced to infinity, they created a new reality where they can exist as entities ceasing to exist."
So according to what he said, it seems that his criteria for existing are two things: first is that something or someone needs to know that he himself exists, while the other is that something or someone needs to exist within the reality we reside in.
That would mean that the residents of this reality absolutely exist, while gods such as in his story would be both existing and not, which is hurting my head trying just to understand. However, something still bugged me...
"Wait a minute, I thought you said that the gods personally handle the outer gods?" If they are acausal, then how can they personally handle those abyssal entities. Recalling our earlier conversation with the old man, I asked such a question. "They kind of do, since they also serve as catalysts for the high guardians under them."
"They oftentimes also do it personally when they transfer their egos to a material body, but since a material body will easily get destroyed by infinity, they release their egos right before the material body perishes so as to not die with it," Velxia explained.
I took a deep breath to clear my head. Coming to this world not only sprung up hidden emotions within me but also more knowledge that I can accept faster than I can comprehend. It's like my brain just wants to get out of my head and hide in a corner to refresh itself.
Noticing my exhausted look, Velxia breathe out a soft sigh before commenting, "Well, it's understandable that you're having a hard time with this. Even for us celestials, such knowledge would be questionable without experiencing it first hand."
He tried to console me, but the thought of feeling it before understanding it bugs me. "I'm not going to die traversing realities, right?" I asked. "Your unknown energy is probably infinite energy. Though I only say probably because I myself have never felt it before, so I wouldn't know, but if my hunch is correct, then as someone carrying the progenitor of all realities, then you should be fine."
"And if you're wrong?" I asked, my eyes deadlocked on his. "W-well, there's also a trace of abyssal energy in your magic, so it should be fine," he responded after clearing his throat.
What he said did make sense though. To learn about something, it's best to experience it first hand. In my previous world, I only had little field experience regarding certain fields and most of my knowledge was from books, thus I was unable to actually put them to the test.
Saying that this much thinking would only hurt my brain doesn't fare well with me, and although I could do it from time to time, I can't help to just be curious about something like this.
"Have you said your farewells?" Velxia asked while I was contemplating my thoughts. shifting my gaze in his direction, I responded, "Yeah. I feel a little bothered by it, but it seems that everyone just accepted it so easily."
"That's obvious," Velxia scoffed, "traversing realities isn't as common as you'd expect you know. It's a great honor for you, and for those who also know you."
Honor. Such a word triggered memories from my previous life as a prince. Thinking about it, what Velxia basically described is similar to my situation when I had the title of a prince, making me feel a little bitter about it. However, unlike those nobles, these people look at me first before that honor.
A gentle smile crept on my face as the thought of that made it feel even more true. Although this life isn't originally mine, these thoughts and emotions I have are true and my own. Not something I was simply obliged with ever since I was born. For that reason, I would try to live this life to the fullest.
Just as I was thinking that, a huffing Kayla suddenly burst out of the house. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at Velxia and slowly tried to pet him. On the other hand, Velxia looked extremely surprised and uncomfortable, pulling his neck back whilst keeping his sight on Kayla's hand like a child being forced to eat vegetables.
"A-are you really the guardian?" Kayla beamed as she asked the question with quivering anticipation. "Uhh, Yes?" Velxia responded half-mindedly, seemingly overpowered by Kayla's dominative personality. As if asking for help, Velxia eyed me while shifting his gaze back and forth to Kayla and me.
I chuckled at the sight before me, as even I can't put Velxia in this seemingly helpless state. "Kayla, sweetie, take it easy on the guardian now," a voice resounded from the direction Kayla burst out from.
Shifting my gaze, it was Master, carrying his two metal swords. It was already afternoon so I doubted he was still going to hunt, and hunting at night would not be a great idea because of the lack of visual awareness in the forest.
"Are you going somewhere, Mr. Renard?" I asked. Master shook his head as he started walking in my direction. He tossed a sword at me, which I caught rather easily, before saying, "Since you're leaving, a graduation ceremony is needed, right? White?"
"Right now? There's a lot of people and birds here y'know?" I asked. It was true that their backyard was big, but I don't think it's big enough to prevent any possible collateral damages. "Hey! Whose the bird you're talking about? I'll have you know I'm a majestic being!" Velxia proclaimed with his chest puffed.
Giving out a shrug, I ignored Velxia's protest. "No it's fine," Master says before shifting his attention to Kayla and the others, "Can you guys move for a bit, please?" Hearing this, Kayla sat on the opposite side of the bench I was sitting on and was followed suit by Astesia who ran whilst carrying little Velxia.
"That's good enough, right?" Master asked for my confirmation. I started walking to the area with a wider space before unsheathing my sword and giving out a nod. As soon as I did, Master drew his own blade from its scabbard and readied himself.
"Now then, show me what you've learned throughout your time with us, White."
