Chapter 14 - Start of the Struggle

It became a wheezing sound interspersed with the sudden trembling of his body. Drops of sweat started emerging on the side cheeks as he looked at the giant creatures lying dead on the ground.

He was completely confused and astonished because this was something out of his expectations.

"S-Sea kings?!" He said in a trembling voice.

He never once thought that their one and only modus operandi, the sea kings, would lie on the ground together with all the hope and reassurance, throwing away the odds of their winning, over the horizon.

The feature most common to the sea-kings was a long, vaguely serpentine body, which was by no means universal. They varied radically in physical build, to where no two individuals have been observed with matching physiques, proportions, or even coloration.

And all the six sea kings that traveled together with the soldiers for the war were lying dead on the ground, one above another, with a common injury. Each of them was drilled with holes of distinct sizes in random parts of their bodies that, too, were uniquely weird. It was as if someone pierced through their hard skin smoothly like butter.

"Huh?!"

His eyes widened and his eyeballs contracted as he looked at the silhouette of something accessing downwards.

An extremely daunting compulsion surrounded the entire town aloft. Takashi lost his balance for a second but gained back control over his body. Although Takashi looked somewhat unaffected by the intimidation, the extreme pressure that his body was poising was insubstantially perilous.

Soon after, the owner of the silhouette manifested himself in front of the townspeople.

A young man with an innocent look and a rather refined face revealed himself. He had a short stature, a thin build, and very pale skin. Glowing purple eyes like amaranthine and moderately long blackish-purple hair, with the tips, dyed a yellowish-orange variant.

He stood silently in the sky while maintaining the tranquility. With a dark flowing cloak and a leather peaked hat with a gold badge on top of it, giving him a more malicious look, he overviewed the people with a child's smile.

The crowd clammed up their voice as they looked into the eyes of the child. The purple eyes peered into the depths of their soul but gave a warmth of motility at the same time.

He treaded down on the ground and waved his cloak in the air.

He wore a white suit with multiple straps wrapped around his arms and two straps hanging loosely around his legs. Apparently, his pants looked like a piece of punk fashion with bondage pelts, but they were actually just fake belts sewed to the thicker part of the thighs. Shirt hems and collars were ripped, and it fastened most of the uniform with metal clips. Multi-colour button embroidery running down the shirt contrived a funky look.

"Please don't look at me like that. I am just a stripling introvert."

With a smile filled with diabolism and eyes exhibiting melancholy empathy, he said.

Not a single person could raise their voice as they kept looking into his eyes, as if hypnotized. Their body was feeling anxious, but they couldn't apprehend the reason.

"Oh-ho, this is not good. This is thoroughly and thoroughly inadequate." He said while glancing at the dead fishes and displaying his impasse through his expressions.

Takashi was being perceptive as he was contemplating the unsought dilemma that had emerged in front of them.

"It's utterly obnoxious!" The kid said with an incremented tone.

"I thought I could see something tempting, but it's nauseating."

He turned his eyes towards the citizens.

"Eh? Don't get so alarmed. Come on, let's have a little talk."

He sat down on the bare ground and looked at the crowd with an innocent countenance.

"Who did all this?! Who liquidated my disgustingly precious buddies?!"

He asked with the most humane and luscious tone possible, although it had an inverse effect on the people.

Their bodies started quivering as they could feel the nefarious aura intimidating them abaft the kid.

No one uttered a single word, and it was under expectations. Someone comprehensibly perplexed everyone with his entrance.

The kid rubbed the back of his head and stood up.

All of a sudden, he started lamenting and wailing in front of the masses, who were baffled by the sudden change.

"You all are awful. I asked you so sweetly still, still, still, still, still, still, still, you all acted so lousy towards me."

The ferocity of the cry increased, and deep-red aura, like emanation, started exonerating from his body.

"What should I do? What, what, what, what, what, ah, I forgot. I am a good boy, so I won't hurt you. Just a little tickling wouldn't hurt though, right?!" He said.

He concenter his lower arm in front of the crowd with the first three fingers, the thumb, index, and the middle finger, evincing towards them and the rest folded inside.

"You all will entertain me, right?"

The lad wiped his tears and flashed a pleased smile as pivoted his fingers blot upright toward the azure sky.

Coming down the pike, red liquid started emerging in the air above the all the dead creatures and turned into solid thread crystal.

Since the townspeople were standing randomly in distinct directions together with the lifeless fishes, the red thread enveloped them from the outside and the inside.

The people became hysterical as those solid crystals pointed towards them. They didn't have anywhere to run, so they just stayed there, aghast'd. As a result, many fell to the ground because their will was squandered and they were no longer strong enough to resist.

The boy tilted his head with a wide smile and said, "Let's go f-!"

"Cremator Blade!!"

Out of nowhere, Takashi attacked the boy with a sword, entirely engulfed in flame, but the kid fudged the attack as he backed off to a safe distance.

Takashi alighted safely on the ground, creating some smoke around him as an aftereffect. With the fuming sword in his hand embedded towards the boy in front of him, he formed an attack stance.

The blood crystals that were all pointing towards the people returned to their liquid state and spattered on the ground.

"He is…"

"Someone's finally here to save us!!"

"Thank god, I thought I was going to die?!"

"But where was he all this time?!"

"Yeah, so many of us are already dead!"

"Leave that aside, are we even sure that he can protect us?!"

"But I heard that five fingers are one of the strongest forces of the king."

"Who knows?! Who knows what that king has planned for us?!"

"Yeah, I heard he had been to exterminate all of us humans from here?!"

"Don't speak nonsense! Many mermaids and fish-men live here together with you humans."

"Do you think he wi-"

"Shut your damn mouths for a moment or else I will burn you all alive before this guy!!" Takashi shouted in frustration.

Some started gazing at him with discontentment, some looked downwards, but no one spoke a single word.

'Damn! It almost decamped my mana. I don't know how long will it last but I hope that it's more than enough.'

After absorbing the flame sword through his palm, he opened his arms and raised them to his sides, and stayed still at that stance.
