Chapter 9 - Tall British Guy (No, The Other One)

Dominic looked over his shoulder to see what he heard, and one of the rooms windows was broken, and something went inside the room. He looked at what it was, and it wasn't a demon, and that was something, at least. The person stood up, looking around at an unmoving Ulrich and a bleeding Lainey. His sight shifted to Dominic, and his sophisticated British accent asked him.

"Excuse me, was this you?"

Dominic finally got a good look at this guy. His hair and eyes were as black as hair and eyes could be, all wrapped up in a black tuxedo. That, alongside his left eye being blocked out of his view, caused Dominic to crack a smile.

"Fuckin' tryhard." He muttered under his breath, before going back to his usual attitude.

"The people on the floor are my humble assistants, wounded from our battle. However, we won the day."

The guy just looked at him. "Sure?" before noticing the dying king in front of him, and his eyes widened.

"Wait, you're the guy threatening the king. And you…was this you?"

"Well, yeah." Dominic smirked. "The people's doubts shall now shrink away, as I land the killing blow."

He turned the to the king, raising his axe for what better be the last time today, ready to land the final hit, but was stopped by a knee to the back by the new guy. As he tumbled across the floor, he tried to get up, but found that no matter what, his legs refused to move. His brain signalled his left leg to go up, but his right leg moved left. All he could do is watch as this new guy started talking to the king, his right eye swallowed up by absolute rage.

"And so, ends your reign. Be sure to give Kim my condolences."

He heard Lewis snarl something at the guy, but he couldn't finish before having his mouth covered by his hand, before he dragged him down to the floor, away from all three of them. When it happened, Dominic caught a very brief glimpse of a pure white energy cover his right hand, before he quickly started pummelling the king. He couldn't hear much, just the sound of blood and flesh ruining the cleaning staff's day. When he was done, the king wasn't even recognisable. The man gestured at the broken window, and two people came into the room.

One was a younger looking guy with short blonde hair, a sword, and a black and white hoodie, followed by a blonde girl with a blue shirt with gold spirals on it. The blonde guy looked horrified at what happened, while the other girl just said "Damn, they actually went for it. Hey Bart, they have the gem?"

But the realization of who they were quickly hit him as fast as the sensation in Dominic's legs. These were the guys Ulrich and Lainey were talking about.

"Hey, Bart!" Dominic yelled out towards the dark-haired guy, who was inspecting the corpse.

He got right in front of his neutral expression, and his slightly taller frame responded with "Yes?"

"Don't 'yes?' me, asshole! Do you know how hard it is to find good royalty these days? He's one of like, seven. What gives you dickheads the right to kill him for me?"

Bart looked confused at what this guy was saying, looking toward Gene and Vivian, who were yelling at each other.

"Did you…have a reason for wanting him dead?" He asked, taking a box of cigarettes out of his pockets, and lighting one up.

"Yeah! The start of my career of blood and glamour! A world of danger, where I rise up as the new ruler of this world!"

"So…it was for thrills? Status? Listen kid. I had an actual reason for what I did. Go chase your thrills somewhere else, we have a job to do." He went over to the other two, either not noticing or ignoring Dominic's anger.

When he was done talking to the others, he went to the sceptre, snapped it in half over his knee, and took out the black gem. He went back to the other two.

"We, uh, done here?" He asked, but Gene and Vivian were still at each other's throats, Gene looking more panicked than Bart saw in the few hours he knew him.

"Okay, they went against his will, but that doesn't mean they have to die! Come on, you gotta heal them!"

"They made their choices, Gene. They are against God, and therefore not worth keeping around."

"They aren't against God, Vivi! They're just…misguided, is all. Trust me, by the end of this, all of us will be working together!"

"Bart, could you back me up on this?" Vivian sighed.

"I don't have enough knowledge to comment on this. And it's Bartholomew, for future reference." Bartholomew responded.

"Look, Vivi. If you're sure that…part of the prophecy will come true, then it's better to have more members for when it happens, y'know?"

"Look, you know." Vivian started, before shutting up and looking over at the dying Ulrich.

"Fine. But only because you're asking."

Vivian looked over at Ulrich, before touching his forehead, and the colour in his face noticeably went up a shade or two, and then towards Lainey, now unconscious from blood loss, and covered her bloody wound with her hand, causing the wound to close up. She then touched her forehead, and she too started twitching, and so Vivian sighed, took the black gem from Bartholomew, and headed out the window, leaving Dominic to watch the duo slowly get up.

Lainey was the first to get up. When she saw Dominic looking over her, sighing with relief, she was immediately filled with rage.

"What the hell happened to me?!" For someone who lost an alarming amount of blood, she was pretty agile, immediately jumping up at him, only for her to slip on the small pool of blood she lost, and fell over into it face first, causing her to get even angrier. Dominic tried to get away, but he was grabbed by her demon, and brought over to her, who grabbed him by his shirt.

"H-hey, let go! You know how hard it is to wash blood out of this shirt?" He yelled, tugging at her hand. It wouldn't budge.

"You think I care, dipshit? Hey Ulrich, what are we gonna do to this guy?"

"Yeah, I'm also furious, but we got bigger things to focus on." Ulrich replied groggily.

Lainey looked over in Ulrich's direction in front of the door and looked over.

Sure enough, there were police officers, and lots of them. And all of them were armed with body gear and weapons. What seemed to be the latest models.

"Well, shit."
