Severus dropped to the floor heavily on his shoulders, trembling convulsively as though he caught a cold.
"Help!, help!, Somebody help!" Everyone in the cell, let out a high-pitched noise that echoed throughout the dungeon.
It could be said that it didn't take a while before the soldiers guarding the entrance left the draft game they had been playing and rushed into the dungeon room, where the prisoners were locked in a cell,
The soldier's eyes first caught Severus shuddering on the ground,
"Do something he is dying!" Marchisio pressured the soldiers.
The soldiers gave glances at each other, Observing deep in thought and having doubts if Severus was truly sick or acting, the other question that struck pangs of fear into the soldiers was, 'what if Severus was struck by a sickness?'
Massimiliano would stab them to death if Severus dies on their watch, he would also do the same to them if Severus escapes on their watch, it became a tough dilemma for them.
The soldiers drew their swords and opened the Cell with a key,
One attended to Severus, the other, stood guard, watching everyone else's movement with his sword in a position of use, he wouldn't mind having their heads roll on the ground, if anyone tries to be sneaky, they all watched as the other soldier squatted before Severus.
He kept his sword aside, and placed two right fingers on his throat, while Severus was shivering, he felt his pulse pumping up and down clearly, the soldier took Severus's right hand and felt the veins, the pulses moved up and down quite well, he also felt his blood flowing like a plain river, free of rocks to obscure its flow.
He went on to dab Severus all through, from his throat down to his torso's, the soldier found his temperature normal like that of a healthy little child, he began having thoughts that it was all an act.
The soldier drew himself up slowly, coming out of a squat, Severus opened his eyes, stretched out his arms at him, and grabbed him on the neck,
Severus drew the soldier down towards himself, picked up the soldier's sword, and drove it into his guts, blood rushed out recklessly, splashing on Severus's all over the face.
The other soldier turned around, having heard the sound of slicing flesh, Severus swiped his leg at the soldier's left foot, and struck it, his feet went off the floor, and his whole body was brought down.
Lorenzo rushed at the soldier, he took the soldier's sword and thrust it deep into the soldier's heart, cracking the bones around the heart, blood made its way out slowly, spreading all over his body.
Lorenzo gave Severus a hand, he took his hand, and Lorenzo drew him up from the floor,
"We couldn't have done it without you," Lorenzo said.
"Am never doing that again, Ever!." Severus uttered with all seriousness in his looks, he wiped his face with his shirt.
"We are free, now what, how do we get out of the castle." Marchisio barged into the moment with words that had everyone feeling worried again.
"Seems like we had an Incomplete plan, we acted too quickly without thinking a lot through." Said, padre.
"We have gone too far to back down," Severus said.
Marchisio with Lorenzo nodded in agreement.
"We won't make it out alive, this is all useless, we don't even know our way around the castle," Berardi revealed to them the huge possibilities of failure in escaping, everyone thought about it in their minds, all Berardi said was true, how can they find their way out, in a castle so big.
They would barely know where they are walking into.
"Shouldn't we just stay back and maybe, stay here and some guards will come down here and lock us back in"
Padre said, he received fierce gazes from Marchisio, Severus, and Lorenzo.
"What?," Padre kept his hands akimbo, asking about the fierce stares driven at him.
"I would call that opinion of yours, stupidity," Lorenzo said at padre.
"Everything is a stupidity to you."
Padre reproved, calling back to memory when Lorenzo called religion stupidity.
"But you are an imbecile for bringing up such an idea." Marchisio barged into the conversation, throwing an epithet at padre, tears wetted his lid, Marchisio's words plastered his face with shame.
"The way to escape is to sneak up on guards and take them out one by one," Marchisio suggested, it seemed a fine idea to others.
"We do not know every Conner of the Castle, some passages or rooms might have no Conners or places to hide."
Severus exposed the blemishes in Marchisio's idea immediately, bringing everyone back to finding a new plan.
"The best idea is to move together, and taking out guards as we Advance"
Severus urged everyone seemed to be running out of ideas, "I guess that's the best thing to do." Marchisio said everyone else agreed with a slight nod.
"You all will get yourselves killed, go and leave me behind." Said padre, he stood firm to his opinion.
"Without me by your side, you won't be left alive," Severus said to padre.
"Who are you, Jesus the savior?"
He replied.
"Am not, but I fit the description, but am sure Masimilano will have you killed the moment he sees am not with you."
Severus made his words clearer, padre came to understand fully what he meant.
"I have heard, just go."
Severus felt he was pouring water on stones by trying to convince padre, to Severus's eyes padre began to fit the description of an imbecile.
"Let's just leave him, it's his choice," Marchisio said.
"It's just as good as begging someone to be alive when he doesn't want to." Said Lorenzo, whilst casting haughty eyes at padre.
With hasty steps, they all left padre behind in the dungeon,
Padre trickled down to the floor, grabbing his arm in his hands, he shuddered and wept bitterly, feeling alone, and abandoned, the doors are wide open, but the fear in him holds him on thrall from trying to escape with others, feelings of uncertainty hovered in his heart.
He had reflected deeply on the subject of escaping, nobody is as valuable as Severus, whoever is escaping with him stands a chance of coming out as a corpse if the escape attempt fails, but Severus might not die if the plan fails, padre sees Severus as a man that has life insurance, he has been assured he won't die.
But padre never felt he had a better chance of living than those with Severus.
