Chapter 19 - Chapter 19 (the bloody escape 2)

Severus peeked at a group of fours guards, busting into deep hearty laughter, the guards in a long passage three of the guards hung on a wall in the balcony, one stood before the three making a comedy, while Severus and others were hiding behind a wall, at the exit of the dungeon, planning an ambush.

"He tried to run we whipped him at the buttocks."

The soldiers laughed out loudly, falling on each other's shoulders, and drinking vinegar out of a leather water container.

Severus took another furtive look, he got to know what view the balcony commands, it commanded views of the castle's backyard, not the front yard, it was possible no guards would be watching the balcony from downstairs.

A rock thumped its way across the face of the soldiers, they sniggered while taking a look at the position which the rock came from, it points at the dungeon exit, the guards took out the merry faces and wore on a serious face.

The soldier making a comedy walking gently towards the dungeon exit, he knew the exit door had Conners where people could hide.

He brought out a dagger as he came close and was about to check the Conners.

Severus grabbed his head and gave it a powerful headbutt, the guard staggered for a while before dropping to the floor.

The other guards jumped down from the walls of the balcony,

Severus and the rest rushed into the passage, one amongst the soldiers took to his heels immediately he caught sight of them Severus went after him, Lorenzo, Marchisio with Berardi attacked the other two guards, slashing swords at themselves.

Severus stretched out his legs, and clipped the soldier's right heels, he crashed to the floor, his forehead hit heavily on the floor, blood trickled from his forehead to his whole face.

Severus showed no remorse for the severe injury he had inflicted on the soldier, he hold onto the soldier's cloth dragged his face up to him, and rammed fierce punches at his nose, his nostrils bled, hard blows crushed the soft bones in it.

"Where is your remorse?" The soldier whispered at Severus, his teeth were already in shambles, the blows had affected it too.

"I am without remorse," Severus replied, he struck a fist to his nose once more, the guard got so injured he could no longer carry his head, his neck went limp drawing his head down, Severus left the guard, he felt with ease to the floor.

The others had done away with the other guards, when their eyes saw what Severus had done to the other guard, stabs of horror flowed through their veins.

"That's horrific!." Marchisio exclaimed, squeezing his face out of disgust.

With blood all over his right hand, Severus trickled up from a crouch, pulling away from his victim, he looked back at Marchisio and the rest.

"How about we get going before someone sees us here," Severus uttered.

They all trekked to the ends of the long passage, at the end of the passage, there were two other passages, one at their left, and another at their right,

Nobody knew where the way at the left leads to, neither did anyone know where the right way also leads to.

"Where do we go now,?." Lorenzo asked everyone.

"Am as clueless as you are," Berardi uttered.

"Let's take the passage on our right, everything right is safe," Marchisio said.

Footsteps came alive Suddenly, approaching from the left passage, they were yet to see who was coming, probably they were about coming into the passage at their left.

The sound of the footsteps increased a lot, everyone took to their heels, they all took the right passage, running while in great fear.

The balcony of the right passage, commanded views of the front yard of the castle when Severus saw some guards watching the balcony from downstairs with lights on a wooden wall sconce, Severus crooked immediately one the soldiers looked at the balcony from downstairs, he must have heard footsteps for the night in the castle was almost dead silent, it was dark so he could barely be seen from downstairs.

"Get down everyone," Severus commanded with a whisper, everyone crooked, rays of light passed above them, not too far away from them was a door on the side of the passage, they all crawled on the ground to avoid being spotted by soldiers, and entered the door.

Nobody cared to observe the surroundings of the room, they were all panting and feeling relieved from fear.

"Wait, where are we?" Severus asked a question brought about by the kingly bed that was before them, covered from above, by a transparent curtain.

Severus looked observantly, he descried a maiden laying on the bed, wearing a shallow gown.

Severus took steps towards the bed.

"I think it's better to leave that be and be on our way." Lorenzo threw some discouraging words at Severus, he showed deaf ears to those words.

Severus rolled the curtains wide open, the clicking side that came from the curtains woke the maiden up, she yelled at the sight of a stranger.

"Arghhhhh!." Severus cut her scream, covering her lips tight with his hands, it could barely be said that her scream lasted up to a second.

Severus dragged her by her hair, and shoved her against the walls,

"Another sound from you and you become a prey." Severus threatened.

"Take it easy on the lady." Marchisio pleaded, he had little fear that Severus would pound the maiden to death, just like he does to everyone he deems a threat.

"Tell us your name, and who you are," Severus ordered her, he took his hands away from her lips, allowing her to speak.

"Am Chiara, daughter of the Governor." She replied, with light strokes of blood on the side of her lips that came from Severus's bloody hands.

"Oooh, the governor's daughter, she is a meaty mouthful," Lorenzo said and licked his lips.

"What are you going to do to me?" Chiara bulged her eyes at Lorenzo, taking glances at both him and Severus.

"Nobody is touching you, in a romantic way, I guess," Severus said, and pulled his hands away from her hair.

"We just need a way to get out of this castle," Severus said, revealing what they had in mind,

It gave Chiara little hope that they aren't here to take her life.
