AT SILVER BIRD HQ
Phoenix had arrived at Silver Bird Head Quarters at exactly 10:30am that Monday morning. She left her morning paper work with her secretary so as to get to Silver Bird Head Quarters on time. Even though she was a boss, punctuality was of her watchword.
"Hi, good morning," She hadn't forgotten her manners after all.
"Good morning ma'am, how may I help you?"
"Yeah, I have an appointment with the CEO for 11am," Well this receptionist was being polite as should every receptionist unless on extreme cases.
"Okay ma'am. I'm going to check the system to see if your appointment for 11am still stands. Please hold on,"
After about 30 seconds of computing clicking, she finally spoke.
"Okay. It says here that your appointment still stands. I'll ring the secretary's office right away,"
"Okay. No problem,"
"Okay. You may go up now. The CEO's office is located on the last floor,"
"No worries. I can find my way. I have already been here before. Thank you,"
"Have a great day ma'am,"
"You too,"
After finding my way to the CEO's floor, I saw a lady at her corner and I figured it was the secretary Jade. Jade was definitely a gorgeous lady with platinum blonde hair and emerald eyes. Absolutely stunning!
"Hi, good morning, Miss Phoenix,"
"Hi, you must be Secretary Jade Simone,"
"Yes I am. You make it sound like one political appointment job," Jade giggled. Well, she does have a good sense of humor.
"It doesn't have to be a political appointment,"
"As you say ma'am. You are early, like 15 minutes early. Luckily, the boss is in. I'll check in with him and see if you can come in,"
"Okay," Jade left me standing there and I took the chance to observe the place. The décor seems okay for an office setting. It really is a nice place. The door flung open and out came Jade
"You may go in now,"
"Thank you,"
And that was it, with the click of a pen, Cooking Fest was a reality.
LOS ANGELES, CARLIFONIA: CITY B (HOME TO PHOENIX CORP. AND STERLING INC.)
PHOENIX CORP.
On the intercom:
"Liyah, please come to my office right away,"
"Yes ma'am," Liyah sometimes wondered why her boss was being stern or what made her stern anyway, probably because of her relationship with Allen Martins? Tsk, such a pity. Liyah sighed and went into her boss's office.
"Ma'am, you sent for me,"
"Yes I did. I want you to send a memo to all the directors of the hotels, the managers and chief chefs of all the restaurants. Tell them that there will be a conference meeting by 6pm today,"
"Okay ma'am, anything else?"
"Uhhhh, yeah, you'll have to be there too. That will be all,"
"Okay ma'am."
I watched Liyah leave my office and I sighed again.. I noticed that I have been doing a lot of that recently. I was stressed out and I needed to go home and have a long hot shower and a much needed rest but I still had this meeting with the other sub-superiors.
After a while, Liyah came knocking to inform me that it was time for the meeting. Whoa, time really does fly, huh?
"Boss, you're on in ten minutes,"
"Okay, I'll be with you on the conference room shortly,"
CONFERENCE ROOM------ Virtual meeting with the sub-superiors
"Good evening ladies and gentlemen,"
"Good evening, Boss" they all chorused, almost as though they rehearsed it.
"Well, I know that this meeting is impromptu but I have got some urgent news to share with you all. I can't address you all one by one and I can't have you all traveling down here for the meeting, so I had to come up with the virtual meeting,"
"It's no problem, boss," That is Ivan Smith; he is in charge of Hotel PHOENIX in one of the states in the western part of the country. "If it is for the betterment of the empire then we're all in for it,"
The others voiced in their support and I was pleased. Being a lady and also being in charge of all these people—more than 50 men and women, some of whom were older than I was, was a big task. It made me become strict, it made me learn how to control my emotions and gladly, it has helped me. I visit all my hotels and restaurants just to keep everything in check.
"I'm pleased to hear that. Okay, straight to the news, I submitted a business proposal back here to a broadcasting station about 3 months ago and over the weekend, it was accepted," I said
"Wow, that's great news boss,"
"Fantastic indeed,"
"Yeah, our boss is very good,"
"Well boss, what is the proposal about?" they all said simultaneously that made my heart swell with pride.
"Okay. Well, the project is one that is dear to my heart. The project is called Cooking Fest and it is a TV series that airs once in a week and at the end of the month, a mini-competition is held and the winner will either be hired by PHOENIX CORPORATION or they get monetary value,"
"That's an incredible plan ma'am,"
"Yeah, it is wonderful,"
"That means PHOENIX CORP. will employ 24 people every year assuming the contest produces 2 winners every month,"
Phoenix watched everyone's reaction and it satisfied her. At some point, she really was grateful that she handpicked the leaders herself.
"Well, on that note, I would love you all to prepare to yourselves cause the winners would either be sent to work in any HOTEL PHOENIX or PHOENIX RESTAURANT," Phoenix had said to give them an idea of what was going to happen beforehand.
"That's okay,"
"Incredible indeed,"
"Ahhh, Boss is always thinking of helping the country,"
The praises went on and after much deliberation; the meeting came to a close. Phoenix thanked all of them for their time.
The week went on smoothly with Phoenix doing her job and smashing her goals while Sterling did his own job too and also his side job---keeping tabs of Phoenix and finally, it was the weekend.
