Two Weeks Earlier
`` Honey, I'm sorry but I think this is good for us. A perfect opportunity to start over as a family,'' Mrs Solan was explaining over to her son, who continued to stare at her mother in disbelief.
``Look Mom, I'm really happy that you are engaged and fell in love again but we can't just leave,'' Daniel said with a lustful sigh.
Mrs. Solan has been dating a six feet, forty year old man who liked being called Clayton.
They have been dating for almost seven months.
Over a dinner date Clayton announced that he just got a promotiona at work and will be moving out of town soon due to his work. That's when Clayton proposed, to Mrs. Solan who happily agreed that after their marriage takes place, will be moving out with him also.
``Daniel, I know you love this place but I think Clayton's right, when we moved out, I'll be able to get a better job in the city,'' Mrs. Solan explained over to her son.
``But mom what am I going to tell Sarah? Huh? I know she's not gonna like this and I can't just leave her,'' Daniel exclaimed.
``I'm not leaving Mom, I'm going to stay right here and not going anywhere,'' he continued.
``Sweetheart, the marriage is coming up soon and you have four more weeks to spend with Sarah until we move out,'' Mrs. Solan who was trying to keep her voice firm and steady continued to assured her son that they will be moving soon.
`` And stop talking nonsense, you are coming with us whether you like it or not, or even if I have to drag you out of here myself, I am not leaving you or Jacob behind,'' she said as she leaves Daniel's room.
After having ''The move out'' conversation with his mother, Daniel decided to go out with Sarah and Eva on a movie who both agreed to be a good idea.
Unfortunately, Eva wasn't able to make it because she had to babysit her younger brother. She let them know over the phone and came up with an excuse, that she is not feeling well.
Eva said that just to avoid the teasing and laughing from Daniel who thinks her younger brother is old enough to look after himself.
``Well, guess that just leaves you and me,'' Daniel said over the phone to Sarah.
``Yup, see you at six then. You are picking me up me up, right?'' Sarah asked over the phone, beaming.
``Okay, see you at six,''
``Okay, Bye, love you,''
Then the phone went dead.
Daniel checked his watch and see that it was only ten past twelve.
``Well, I still have few hours left before my date,'' he muttered to himself.
``Mom, I'm going over to Rex,'' he shouted over the kitchen as he leaves.
`` Okay, honey just be back for dinner,'' his mom shouted back.
Rex and Daniel know each other through football games. They are not best buddies but they always have each other's back when one got into trouble or have problems.
``Hey buddy, sup,'' Rex amazed to see one of his best pal standing on his doorstep.
``You busy,''
``Nah man, just chilling,''
``Do you wanna hangout?''
``Okay, let me get my skateboard,''
After a few rounds of skating, the two pal decided to go over to the park and have some drinks.
``Congrats dude. I heard your mom is finally getting married,'' Rex said.
``Well it would have been much easier if she didn't,''
``What's the problem, dude. You sounded unhappy,''
``I don't know Rex. Bad news is we are going to move out soon after the marriage takes place,''
``What, Danny boy you can't be serious. Dude, come on you can't just leave me here or can you,'' he nudged playfully at Daniel.
After a long talk with Rex they decided to take another few rounds, skating.
``Okay buddy, I'm outta here, have a date to get ready to,'' Daniel said over to Rex.
``You just can't leave her alone for one day, can't you,'' Rex teased him and go for another round.
Over their date that night Daniel couldn't get himself to tell Sarah about him moving out.
``This is great we should do this more often,'' Sarah told Daniel as they were sitting on his car in front of Sarah's house.
``Well, you should go in now or else you won't be allowed to hang out with me at night,'' Daniel said without even looking at her.
Ever since Sarah told her parents about her relationship with Daniel, they agreed that she would always be back by eight thirty at night.
``Is everything okay,'' Sarah who seems to sense something is not right asked Daniel.
``Everything's fine babe,'' he said.
When Daniel saw that his answer was not enough for Sarah to leave, he leaned in and kissed her deeply. It was moment like this that makes him think about not ever leaving.
``Night babe,''
``Night, see you at school tomorrow, love you,'' she said before skipping off to her house.
He watched her from behind as she leaves and again dreaded the thought of how on earth will he be able to leave the love of his life and move away.
