"Utro..." [Note: Utro means morning in Russian]
It's Vierne Obolensky here. Russian mornings have only one way of describing them-cold but beautiful. They are not dry like other European countries, at least in Moscow it's a bit different, when you get up from your warm and cozy bed and look outside, you'll find the window pane white and cold due to fog, if you wipe it off and look outside, you'll find an image of peace and serenity. Mornings are a symbol that a new day in your life has started; a chapter is waiting to be written and only you have the power to decide what to write. Mom used to say that everyday may not be good but there is something good in everyday...
"Russian mornings are beautiful." I said to myself.
"Russian mornings are beautiful?" Lord Akagi said as he barged in my room with a black suit on. "It is the act of getting up at three in the morning, putting the cereal of your choice in a bowl and pouring vodka and milk in it.
Eating it, and drinking the rest of the vodka, you get dressed drunk off your ass and go to work in the shittiest clothes you have with no coat in cold weather, and you come home after finding out it's Sunday.
Yeah, THAT'S A RUSSIAN MORNING! Now, get your ass off the bed. I'm driving you to school." Lord Akagi said.
"But it's Sunday." I said.
"So? You're a DEMIGOD STUDENT! You have your orientation day today."
OH! I FORGOT!!! Today I'll be going to this human institution called a 'HIGH SCHOOL', that is a place where children about my age are given education so that they can be good citizens and serve the country once they come of age, or something like that...
"Good morning, Milady. The breakfast is ready, should I set the table?" Lict said. He was properly dressed too.
I stared at him in awe.
HOW CAN SOMEONE LOOK SO GOOD AND BRIGHT SO EARLY IN THE MORNING?!
NOW I HATE MORNINGS TOO!!
"Yeah, lemme just take a bath first, ready the bath" I said.
"I've already prepared it, Milady" he said with a smile.
"...And my clothes?"
"I've prepared them too, they are there inside the basket"
"Uh..okay"
HOW CAN SOMEONE BE SO PERFECT?!!!
DAMN YOU, BUTLER!!
I took the bath and quickly got ready. Lord Akagi stood outside the mansion and shouted "What are you doing?! COME HERE QUICKLY!!" Melissa stood beside him. She was well dressed too.
"Are you both going somewhere?" I asked.
"I WILL COME TOO, TO THE SCHOOL" Lict said as he ran towards me.
"NO, STAY HOME!" Akagi said.
"WHY? I DON'T WANNA BE LEFT ALONE HERE!" Lict said.
"....*Sigh* There's no stopping you, from here on, I'm no longer responsible." Lord Akagi said and got inside the car.
"Mr. Akagi, you're a renowned author, you must be really rich, right?" I asked.
"Well, yeah, kind of." Akagi said while driving the car.
"So then, why don't you have a driver?" I said.
"I don't like keeping servants, I like being independent. Besides, one is enough." Akagi said as he looked at Melissa while driving.
"MELISSA IS YOUR SERVANT?!!" I shouted.
"Yes, and Lict is your servant" Akagi said "Didn't you know that?"
I turned to Lict and he smiled "That's true. I told you the first time we made the contract, right? I'm Milady's servant and my job is to serve and protect her."
"...I see. Lord Akagi, who is the new teacher?" I asked "You said you know him."
Akagi's face turned pale and he said "Yes about that...."
Few days back at St. Escola Royal Academy (Vierne's new school)
"Why am I here?" Akagi said "AND WHY IS SHE HERE??!!" he said looking at Melissa.
"Calm down dear." Ms. Winton said "I've you here to tell you that we're running out of staff for Demigod students."
"Which subject's teacher?" Akagi said.
"Magic." Ms. Winton said "You see, you can employ regular human teachers for subjects like mathematics or science but for a subject like Magic, we only need a Demigod teacher, which is difficult to find, and we can't even openly advertise about wanting a Demigod teacher."
"Well, that's true." Akagi said.
"Also, with the demigod population constantly decreasing due to the intense amount of parades taking place nowadays, there're even lesser Demigod resources."
"So, you want me to find someone?" Akagi said.
"No, I want YOU to teach literature and magic to the students."
"..…Ms. Winton, have you finally lost it because of old age?"
"How rude, I'm only 45 years old and I look young enough." Ms. Winton said "And please, won't you do this small thing for your school? You're just a substitute teacher, you can resign once we find a suitable teacher. You're the most experienced person who can do it, I can't delay this any further, we have to start with the classes."
"But, why literature too?" Akagi said.
"'Cause you're a writer, who could teach literature better than you?"
"....You're totally not wasting the opportunity, are you?" Akagi said with a smile.
"Yes, and you'll even need to a special literature class once a week for the human students."
"....Tell me...why do you keep pushing me to my limits?" Akagi said with a smile.
"I know you'll not die, you're just making excuses. With your sila-Skorost, there's no way you'll die because of workload. A man who can finish one book of 450 pages in 5 hours definitely can't die because of workload, 'cause he doesn't have any work to do anymore!"
"FINE! But, why do we need her?!" Akagi said, pointing at Melissa.
"She's gonna be your assistant during the magic class, you remember right? Your magic teacher used to have one too when you were in school." She said.
"....What if I refuse to work here?" Akagi said.
"Well, Melissa you know, when Akagi was in school, we went for a field trip and do you what he did there?-"
"OKAY OKAY! I'LL WORK!" Akagi shouted.
"Are you sure? I'm not forcing it on you, you can go if you want to. We'll find someone else."
"No, I'll work. But it's gonna charge you a wholesome amount. I don't take cheap jobs."
"Deal! Okay then, young man, see you this Sunday. We have a special orientation for Demigod students, don't be late." Ms. Winton said with a smile.
.
.
.
"Lord Akagi...what's wrong?" Vierne said.
"No, I'm okay, just don't ask. I've been blackmailed." Akagi said.
"Isn't that a crime?" Lict said.
They finally reached the school's front gate and Akagi parked his car in the school basement.
"Read this." Akagi said, giving a pamphlet to Vierne.
"What is this?" Vierne said, opening the pamphlet.
"St. Escola Royal Academy was built 600 years ago for Demigod students only, however, soon it even started giving admissions to human students. Demigod students attend some classes with human students to learn how to merge with the society and some special classes like magic and games are taken separately by Demigod students and human students. Is that so?" Vierne said.
"The system's quite well organised, isn't it?" Melissa said.
"GET OUT, FATASS!" Akagi said to Melissa.
"Wait, Lord Akagi!! Where are you going?" Vierne said.
"To the staff room, you're gonna go to your class."
"But where is the class?" Vierne said.
"On the second floor, room number ABX-234" Akagi said and left the basement with Melissa.
"...What was the room number?" Vierne said as she turned to Lict.
"Follow me." he said as he smiled.
Lict and Vierne reached the stairways. The entire school seemed empty. Everything was quiet and the only thing to be heard were their footsteps as they climbed the stairs.
They both reached a room which said 'ABX-234' at the top.
"Seems like it's the room Milady" Lict said.
Vierne took a deep breath while Lict opened the door for her. She stepped in and found 6 people in total. Everyone was shouting and creating chaos. One guy was even HALF DRESSED! But as soon as they saw Vierne, they became quiet and stared at her.
She felt awkward and slowly started moving towards the seats. Lict followed her quietly. She sat down and everyone still stared at her.
"Uh...Lict" She whispered and Lict leaned towards her mouth "I think we've entered the wrong room" she said.
"Certainly not, Milady. This is the room number lord Akagi has given to us." Lict said, reassuringly.
"But...why is everyone staring at us? Do I look weird? Is it weird that you're following me around?" Vierne said "And above all, WHY IS THAT GUY HALF DRESSED?!!"
"People say that a lot." The half dressed guy said as he came near Vierne. Then, he looked at Lict and said "It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, lord Demigod" he said as he shook Lict's hand.
"I think you're mistaking something. I'm not the demigod, she is." Lict said.
"...WAIT! A GIRL DEMIGOD??!! Stop joking"
"It's true, I'm just a star spirit. Plus, you're rude. How dare you come near Milady half naked like that?" Lict said.
"'Cause that's my sila" he said.
"…Your sila?" Lict said.
"I'm Jade Johnson." he said with a smile.
"Do you really have to remove your shirt?" Lict said.
"Yes, my powers don't work with clothes on." he said.
"WEIRD HUH?" A girl who looked about Lict's age said as she came near him.
"And you are?" Lict said.
"I'm 'Fire Makes the Forest' informally called Bella and this is my Lord Demigod- Lord Jade Johnson. Pleased to make your acquaintance" She said "And you?"
"I'm 'The Hour of Music' informally called Lict and this is my Lady Demigod- Lady Vierne Obolensky. Pleased to make your acquaintance" Lict said.
"A lady Demigod? Very unusual... but interesting nevertheless. It's the first time I've seen a lady Demigod." Bella said.
"Wait! Did you just say Obolensky?" A short boy said.
"Yes, my lady is an Earl" Lict said.
"AMAZING!" All three of them said together.
"That means we'll be studying with a member of the royal family." the short boy said.
He turned to Vierne and bowed "Good morning Ms. Earl. My name is Jenet Ambrace, pleased to make your acquaintance, and that's my star spirit, her name is 'Iki'- 'The Language Of We'."
"Hello, nice to... meet you" Vierne said.
"BUT A LADY DEMIGOD? AMAZING! HEY, HEY WHAT'S YOUR SILA?" Jenet asked with excitement.
"It's-"
"LAME!" A guy sitting in the front row said.
"Huh?" Vierne said.
"A girl Demigod will remain a girl, doesn't matter if you're an Earl. And, I don't like you, girl Demigod, whatever your name is....I HATE YOU, AND I DON'T PROMOTE THE IDEA OF HAVING A GIRL DEMIGOD IN THE PARADE OR EVEN IN THIS SCHOOL!" he said.
