Chapter 15 - Naked and rageful

"We're so dead," William expressed.

At this point, he had difficulty putting any emotion behind those few words, exhaustion was the prime reason.

His bruises, cuts and sprains ached worse after each second, so surely most of his energy had been drained by now.

Olivia on the other hand, wasn't ready to give up in the slightest!

And she expressed that golden willpower as well, "Just hold on tight, I'll get you out of here!"

The danger they referred to was none other than this massive group of bears!

Over twenty of them had charged towards the circle, and the result was expected. Almost effortlessly, these beasts broke down the body-wall which the soldiers made!

Sure these men were skilled enough to fight for themselves, and they could even send a few bears to their doom, but that didn't matter much.

Simply because this situation had grown beyond their control, the circle had been broken. Necessarily, all of the healers and injured soldiers that took refuge in between it, were completely vulnerable now!

"No!" Olivia shouted.

She saw how two healers got pinned down by these three-ton menaces, and their fate after such a misstep was easy to figure out!

Yet regardless of how her heart ached for these sisters in skill, she still decided to follow the plan.

She saw an opening on the far left, and seemingly no hostile beasts roamed that area either. So if these two could get past that point, it would be far easier to find a safe spot!

"This will be over soon, we'll make it." Olivia shouted, just to assure the other that was on her shoulder.

"Let's hope you mean that," William expressed.

The few sprains on the boy's back were quick to spark afterwards. Such discomfort was related to the lady's blunt actions.

Without much hesitation, she dashed towards that one desired direction. Oddly enough, she attained a grand level of speed in a matter of moments, the semi-dry mud around here was not an obstacle.

Although the healer was in her human-like form, she still proved quicker than a spooked deer!

"We're almost there," She mumbled, as a hint of joy made itself present.

But, a vicious howl broke loose at that very moment, it managed to break the other's smile! Such a shout felt like a barricade, as it wasn't mixed up with the crowd around them, no.

Instead, a creature had gotten a bit too close! And before they knew it, that same beast blocked their path!

Olivia became beyond spooked for once; this situation had rattled her up pretty badly to begin with. But it felt soul-shakingly creepy to see a big creature like this one move so fast!

After a quick breath, the lady screamed. "You furry menaces... there were plenty of bugs to eat, you didn't have to kill so many people!"

It seemed pointless to yell at a bear. These animals had a three-foot wide head, yes, but their brains were painfully underdeveloped.

For that matter, her outburst proved useless in one way. But in another way, this confrontation could be reaped for benefits.

Particularly, she locked eyes with this very beast and seeped one emotion in exchange, rage.

Finally, Olivia screamed once more. "Get out of my way!"

This brute animal surely didn't heed such a demand, it only grunted a few times and remained eager to attack!

Thanks to that foul fact, the healer only had a small pocket of time available, she had a slim chance to run away.

Yet on the contrary, she stood her ground stubbornly and allowed her anger to unravel. Almost instantly she dropped William to the ground, and barely cared if he sustained any damage!

Afterwards she took a step forward, and sprinted directly towards this one opponent!

In a blink of an eye, the lady pounced up and then pushed her arms forward. Through that split second which a glorious mid-air leap granted, she embraced a grand transformation!

Under her breath, she whispered. "Die!"

This furious woman's arms were first to shapeshift; they tilted towards an excessively white colour.

The only thing that gave her limbs some texture were the silver lines which her limited muscle-mass carried.

"What the hell...?" William grunted, as the scene he witnessed felt like the oddest one yet.

Olivia wasn't the biggest creature out there, but her arms surely proved lethal. She embraced a full-body transformation, but that didn't seem necessary if she wanted to put up a fight!

Simply because her great limbs shifted into a horrid form, they swiftly stretched nearly two-meters long! Better yet, her hands were replaced by two lethal spikes!

That sight alone would disrupt the naked eye, but the oddest scene occurred after William looked up once more. He noticed a rageful, albino creature, right on top of the massive bear!

And from the looks of it, this white-coated lady didn't climb up there for any peachy reasons, no. Her spike-shaped hands were swift to dig through the enemy's back!

That horrid sight made the young man express, "Wow... I... well, this girl is amazing!"

As for the enemy that blocked their path, well, its arms finally limped. This three-ton animal crashed to the ground like the chunk of meat it was.

"Let's get out of here," Olivia hollered.

Afterwards she slid away from the fresh carcass, and transformed her arms once more. This time however, she had seemingly normal, five-fingered palms; but they still looked like that of a snakezoid's, in relation to the rest of her body.

But yet the boy focused on a couple of other things, which were fairly unrelated to this disastrous battle.

And although it was a bad time to ask, William still boldly pressured. "Are you sure that you want to run around naked?"

"Snakes don't wear clothes, silly!" She replied with a soft smile.

The healer gazed at herself for a moment, and noticed how most of her clothes were destroyed. Well, apart from her dark shirt, which was usable but still had long tares.

Her figure was exactly that of a slim-bellied lady. In fact, her entire upper body carried a fairly feminine form. But she was still large, so it only made sense that her clothing got wrecked.

As for discretion, it wasn't a huge problem in particular. Any feminine portions she had were covered with countless scales. So although she seemed naked, that wasn't nearly the case.

Those facts aside, William still felt beyond attracted towards the lady. Generally, it was difficult to like a snake-faced creature, but in this case, he didn't hesitate.

In fact the boy was too captivated. He didn't even notice how this woman had already dragged him away from this wretched battlefield.

The healer's silver tail helped him attain some awareness. It was simply odd to see a seven-foot chunk of flesh, to slither swiftly across the mud. In all ways possible, it wasn't a common sight.

However, after what felt like an eternity later, he met with the ground once more. But this time it was for good, Olivia found a great spot for them to hide.

Seemingly, she has transformed into her human-like form as well. Characteristically, her soft pale face helped loosen up the atmosphere.

At the moment, this good woman's arms were crossed against her chest, obviously she lacked clothes.

In an everlasting sweet tone, she requested. "I'm gonna need that coat of yours, sweetie."

Although he was enveloped with sprains, the boy swiftly stood up on his feet and ignored every bit of pain!

Through some effort, the snakezoid gently suited this fine healer. Although it felt like an aimless effort, he covered this lady slowly as if he handled an expensive, but fragile gem.

"Thank you," Olivia finally spoke out, she dispelled the awkward tension through those couple of words.

William rubbed the back of his head, as for once he felt slightly embarrassed. Undoubtedly, the boy didn't think that it would be so easy to submit to a few emotions.

But he didn't want to think about all of that right now. Instead, all of their focus darted towards these new surroundings.

For that matter he finally questioned, "Where are we? Did the others make it out alive?"

"I have no idea, but if they did, they will find us eventually." Olivia answered.

Although William still felt dizzy, he was aware enough to complain. "Eventually? I don't like the sound of that."

"We don't have another choice, I had to find a safe place for us." The other firmly explained.

"What do you mean by that?" He asked.

Afterwards the boy was encouraged to peek out of the little, snug and muddy room they hid into. Once he did so, it was inevitable to notice a grand fact.

They were well over a hundred meters above ground, which meant that they hid in one of the tunnel's walls!

"How the hell did you even get us up here?" A whisper pierced the air, it was shot out from the younger.

"I'm an albino silver-back?" The lady reminded.

"Oh," He muttered.

Memorably, this lady could grow long spiky arms out of thin air. Perhaps those were the tools she used to climb up here? Regardless of the odds and ends, this was not the best time to think about this.

Instead, William peeked out into the far distance, and noticed how there were no signs of a battle. This sour fact pointed towards a couple conclusions.

Either Olivia had slithered away a bit too far, or the battle itself had met a foul end.

Regardless of the prime reason, all these two could do right now was wait. Likewise, they had some time to discuss this matter.

The young man held to a thick root, all so he wouldn't fall over this snug room's edge. Afterwards he felt comfortable enough to converse.

First he craved to understand one thing, "Why did those bears attack us, what do you think about that? Were they supposed to be that many?"

"There was enough food near our camp to get a few of them curious, but this is just ridiculous!" The other specified.

And then she added, "Bears almost never attacked people before, I don't know what ticked them off today!"

At last she swiftly theorized, "Something weird is happening, but I don't know who would win anything out of this!"

"It's a win for me," William thought, but didn't dare to sound out that wish.

He stretched out that thought through a little plot, "If I make it out of here alive, this dumbass king will love to meet me, I'll probably be called a hero too."

Such a thought process seemed painfully selfish at this point, but the boy remained reward-oriented, regardless of what happened throughout this foul day.

Which was why he embraced one idea, "One way or the other, I'll be closer than ever to those golden fangs. Ten-thousand points will be mine!"
