Chapter 38 - Chapter 38 - Brothers

Later, after that, after placing Ayame and his clothes in his room and closed the door, Shigure explained to Tohru and the others about him and his sensitivity to the cold.

Then, Yuki was upset by his older brother's presence in his life, and doesn't want to talk about it.

"Why, Yuki-senpai?" Masayuki responded to this.

"You two are brothers, right?" Emiko added.

"I said I don't want to talk about it," Yuki replied back.

But then, Tohru realized that Masayuki and Emiko had found out her secret, the zodiac curse secret, and immediately apologized to Masayuki and Emiko for that.

"That's okay, Tohru-chan," Masayuki reassured their friendship. "We understand. We'll keep it as a secret from anyone."

"Yeah, you can count on us," Emiko added.

"Thanks, Masa-kun, Emiko-chan," Tohru responded with a smile.

"Wow, you guys are so close to one another," Shigure commented. "Like the three musketeers."

"Shigure-san!" Kyo, Yuki, and Handa responded to Shigure.

"Sorry, sorry," Shigure apologized in response.

Then, suddenly, Ayame transformed back to his human form and worn his clothes, before opening the door while greeting, "Where have you been, brother?"

Everyone, except for Yuki, in the house looked at him in various reactions.

"What in the…?" Masayuki commented on Ayame's appearance. "His appearance is so…"

He then aborted that last part of his comment and thought to himself, "Don't judge, Masayuki-kun. That's not nice."

Then, Shigure introduced Tohru, Masayuki, and Emiko to Ayame.

"Nice to meet you, Ayame-san," Masayuki greeted while bowing a bit.

"Nice to meet you, Masayuki-kun," Ayame responded back with positive vibes. "Your fashion is so unique."

"Oh you think so?" Masayuki asked back. "My choice of colors is a bit strange."

Ayame then smiled. "Yes, your choice of colors and style are so fashionable." He then chuckled for a few seconds while Yuki was not that happy of his older brother's presence in Shigure's house.

"Wow, Yuki-senpai is not comfortable," Masayuki commented in his mind.

Then, Shigure introduced Tohru to Ayame.

Ayame was more than delighted to meet her. This causes Yuki to be pissed off.

And then, Ayame sat down and told Tohru to make some tea for him, causing Yuki to snap and berated him for treating Tohru like a servant.

Ayame regrets this, but he stand up, grabbed Tohru's hand, and left the house with her.

"Wait up, Ayame-san!" Masayuki reacted as he tries to catch up with Ayame and Tohru, running out of the house.

Because of this, Kyo, Yuki, and Handa are mad at Shigure.

Not long after, Ayame and Tohru are about to enter a restaurant when Masayuki catches up with them and catches his breath.

"Masa-kun, what are you doing here?" Tohru asked him.

"Just in case something bad happens to you, Tohru-chan," Masayuki responded as he finishes catching his breath, before letting out a big sigh.

"Oh, don't worry about that, Masayuki-kun," Ayame said to Masayuki with a smile. "I won't do something not nice to Tohru."

Straightening his back, Masayuki responded, "Thanks. Can I come with you?"

"Sure thing."

And so, the three of them went into the said restaurant and settled at a row of single seats next to the counter.

Then, Ayame ordered some food to the chef, and the chef did so in response.

"Wow, this place is neat," Masayuki commented positively. "Thanks, Ayame-san."

"You're welcome, Masayuki," Ayame responded back to him.

Then, Ayame tells his backstory with Yuki to Tohru and Masayuki with some dramatic parts.

Tohru and Masayuki listens to him attentively, with Masayuki thinking, "Wow, he used to be like my older half-siblings: uncaring and neglectful."

In turn, Tohru tells her story with her mother to Ayame.

Ayame was listening to her attentively.

Then, after Tohru's turn, Masayuki tells his story with his half-siblings to Ayame.

"Wow, they are like that?" Ayame commented in asking.

Masayuki then nodded. "Yes, and I hated their treatment of Tohru-chan, so me and my younger sister left the house and rented an apartment unit for ourselves, while I work part-time to pay off our expenses."

"Oh, I didn't know that you work part-time," Ayame responded back. "You must be a hardworking person, right?"

"Yes, and I did everything to provide for myself and my sister."

"Yes, and her younger sister is Emiko-chan," Tohru added. "She's also at Shigure-san's house."

"Oh, I didn't see that coming," Ayame replied back. "Your sister must have been cute."

"Yeah, she acts more like Tohru-chan," Masayuki responded with positivity, "and we share most of the same hobbies we have. For me, I loved stationery and writing stories on the internet."

"So you're a writer?" Ayame asked back.

"Masa-kun, you are?" Tohru asked as well in surprised shock.

Masayuki then positively nodded. "Yes, and I earned a small amount of money out of that hobby, and all of my stories are in English."

Tohru and Ayame are impressed by it, and Tohru commented, "Wow, I think you can make a living out of it if your books and stories became popular."

"No, that's not possible, Tohru-chan," Masayuki objected. "It's not always a lucrative career path. I preferred to be an office worker for a foreign company."

"Oh, okay, so you're going overseas once you graduate college or university?" Ayame asked back.

"No, I will attend university overseas," Masayuki objected again, "then I'll work for a foreign company here in Japan once I graduated."

"I see."

"Yeah, I don't like most companies here," Masayuki expressed his dislike to Tohru and Ayame. Masayuki knows this because he did a lot of research about the work lifestyle in Japan.

"Okay, good luck, Masa-kun."

"Thanks, you two."

And so, their order came, and they all eat up.
