Chapter 31 - Chapter 31 - Best Day Ever!

Later at midday, Tohru, Masayuki, and their friends are outside forming two teams, the fists and the palms, despite Kyo doesn't want to play. Arisa then responded how she had to play despite being sick.

Then, Tohru asked Masayuki and Emiko if they can play badminton.

"Well, Tohru-chan," Masayuki answered back, "to be honest, we never played this game before."

"We only played basketball," Emiko added.

Understanding this, Tohru replied, "I see."

She then smiled and continued, "That's alright. It's your first time playing this, right?"

"Yeah, exactly," Masayuki responded back positively. "We'll give it a try."

With that, Tohru turns towards Handa and Souya and asked, "How about you two? Do you ever play badminton before?"

"No, it's our first time," Handa replied back.

"Well, I'll give it a try," Souya added.

"That's great," Tohru responded back. She then thought, "I hoped this will lighten Yuki-kun's mood."

And so, they played badminton together, with Masayuki, Emiko, Handa, and Souya trying their best to win despite having never played badminton before. They played until the afternoon. At that time, they all went home together. While walking, Masayuki commented with excited enthusiasm, "Man, today is the best day of my life. I'll never forget this happy event in my life."

"Really?" Souya asked back.

"Yes, because me and Tohru are now in the same school."

"Wow, you're so supportive of your own cousin, aren't you, Masayuki-kun?"

"Yeah, I'll do anything for her."

Not long after, at an intersection, Masayuki, Emiko, Handa, and Souya parted ways with Tohru and her friends, before going to Tohru's grandfather's house for a short and quick visit. Shortly thereafter, they arrived at that house, and Masayuki rang the doorbell. Then, Tohru's grandfather answered by opening the door.

"Hi there, grandpa," Masayuki greeted him positively.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Honda," Handa added.

"Hello, good afternoon," Tohru's grandfather greeted back. "Come in, come in."

Masayuki and his group did so, and Tohru's grandfather closed the door. At that time, Tohru's aunt was shopping for groceries, Pablo was at work, and Tohru's other cousins are at university. In addition, it was Masayuki's day-off from work, so he has a lot of free time after school.

In the living room, they all sat down, and Tohru's grandfather asked Masayuki and Emiko how was their first day at a new school.

"The best day ever," Masayuki answered back happily. "It was the best day ever."

"Wow, it seems that you're happier if you're in the same school as Tohru's," Tohru's grandfather replied back.

After that, Masayuki asked him how was his half-siblings and where is his mother.

"Oh, your half-siblings are at university," Tohru's grandfather answered back, "and your mom went grocery shopping."

"I see, as usual."

"Mr. Honda," Souya responded politely, "we're having a fun time playing badminton with your granddaughter."

"Oh, so you kids played badminton?"

"Yeah, it was so much fun," Handa replied back, "despite the fact that we never played that sport before."

"I see. That's good. You had tried something new."

"Yeah, it's true," Masayuki agreed with him.

After some time, Masayuki and his group left the house while Tohru's grandfather said goodbye to them from the front door.

Not long after, at another intersection, Masayuki and Emiko parted ways with Handa and Souya, whose houses are at the same street, before going to their apartment home.
