Chapter 39 - 39. Good fortune

The room was full of doubt now. Almost every God besides the handful of Gods Mazaya was close to were questioning her. Luther and his allies created a seed of doubt that was making Gods forget that for the last 1000 or so years Mazaya had not lost control. Once he was able to discredit Mazaya Gods would start to submit to his rule and everything else would follow.

They still had a long way to go but the main goal right now was to have everyone in this room questioning what was the right decision. He had Gods fighting him left to right when he ruled before. If he could get complete obedience from atleast half of the Gods who rebelled against him during his first rule, that would be a feat he would relish on.

But like always someone couldn't let Luther enjoy his small victory. "Just because Mazaya is unstable doesn't mean we have to accept this." Kye emphasized by throwing the packet of laws on the floor.

Kye looked around with compete disdain. "I can't believe that you guys are letting them manipulate you into accepting a fate that basically makes you powerless unless Luther says otherwise. You've all read through the laws. And like Selina The Goddess of Seduction said early the laws are made for specific Gods." Kye yelled trying to get his point across before hope was lost completely.

He stood up and yelled. "Listen to me okay. You can't just sit down and accept this even with fear. Mazaya is unstable fine. That doesn't mean that we need to accept Luther as ruler. We can.." Kye was cut short by sudden pain.

He looked down to a dagger made completely out of ice pierced though his chest. He grabbed the dagger and Gritted his teeth as he pulled it out of his chest. Glaring up at the perpetrator, he started to say something but his lips were frozen shut, so he was stuck trying to thaw the ice instead of voicing his opinion. .

Boreis The God of winter just laughed. "You were boring me so I thought I could lliven this up A bit. Anyways now that all attention is on me I think it's time for me to have the floor." Boreis said while giving a gorgeous smile to The Goddess of elements. She blushed. Boreis had snow white hair with bright blue eyes and pale skin that helped add to his beauty. He may have been a second tier God but he still could hold an audience.

"Now I'm just wondering. By a show of hands how many of us can calm down Mazaya if she, hmmm how can I put it? Oh yes decides to have a tantrum?" Boreis asked while looking around for raised hands. He had his hand holding up his chin with his elbow on the table like this was the most interesting meeting he had ever attended.

Everyone started to look around to see who had their hands raised. There were only a few Gods who raised a hand. Boreis looked at the 4 Gods who's hands were raised and raised an eye brow. Exodus and Luther were the obvious ones but The God of Fortune was a complete surprise. He already assumed that The God of light would say he could. All Boreis could do was roll his eyes while freezing The God of pain and sufferings drink.

As Algea The God of pain and suffering looked up at him with a menacing smirk, Boreis froze Algeas hands solid before teleporting next to The God of Fortune. "So let's here your story how did you do it?" Boreis got straight to the point.

The God of Fortune just looked into the distance before downing his drink. Shrugging "Good fortune." The God of Fortune said nonchalantly.

Boreis just started at him. "Good fortune?" He asked dumbfounded. The God of Fortune just shrugged his shoulder again.

Downing one more drink he said mockingly. "Everyone seems to forget that Im not the God of Fortune. I can't tell the future. I'm the God of Good Fortune. Im lucky, not a fortune teller. I guess Gods forget that since Mazaya thought my name would be better without the good in it." He looked at the actual God of Fortune and smiled.

Lucas The God of war was the first to speak up. "What do you mean Mazaya changed your name." This could be huge news if Mazaya was doing something like altering reality. Gods would look at her completely different. They would question whether or not she was completely good when she was stable. They just needed every God to feel like Mazaya was a danger and that they needed Luther. It was simple.

The God of good fortune looked around at all the stares. Alot were accusing and he could understand why. He never lost a game in his life and it seemed like he tricked everyone in this room for favors. He needed to explain himself before he ended up tortured.

"Like I said I'm the God of Good fortune but before anyone starts to want to attack me let me explain." The God of Good fortune said. Everyone perked up willing to listen besides the God of light who was frantically trying to use his power to unfreeze his mouth.

The God of Good fortune started his story. "Okay so I was at the Starlight club the other night, playing games against Gods who wanted favors. I drank alittle to much and started to wander around. I decided to walk instead of teleport and ended up lost. So I decided to open up a Vip room door to ask someone for help. Note I was wasted so I didn't think to just teleport home. As soon as I opened up the door something hit me. It felt Like magic. Then pain came and I fell backwards passing out from how strong the pain was and from the collision."

"When I woke up I had all these new memories and all the memories that I thought were real turned out to be fake. Everything came back to me." The God of Fortune said as he was being cut off by Luther.

"So you got all kinds of new memories? How are you sure they aren't fake?" Luther asked already knowing what happened to The God of Good fortune and just wanting to get more information out of him without being obviously.

"Good one." Lucas whispered to Luther while smiling at this revolution. The God of Good Fortune had such good luck that he came to their VIP room and got his memories back along with them. Mazaya was so full of secrets that unless they discovered every secret they most likely could never truly rule. Her wisdom was showing because this was genius.

"Okay so I'm sure the new memories are real because I never understood my powers. I never could see the future so when Gods asked for me to tell them their future I just told them I don't tell the future for free. I went to Mazaya one time about my powers not working. She got big eyed and than covered up her expression by saying that I'm not the God of the future so my powers only allow me to see others destiny when it was time." The God of Good fortune said.

Luther had the biggest grin on his face. "So do you have any memories that can explain why she would do this?" Luther asked with in joyfully evil tone.

"I can tell them to you if you want." The God of Good Fortune said. Luther just shook his head, he didn't want everyone in this room to know to much. The fact that him being the actual God of Good fortune was out in the open for all council members was nerve reckoning.

"No actually I'll need you to come to my office after the meeting so we can discuss this." Luther said just to The God of Good Fortune. The God of Good fortune gave a small nod of approval before going back to his drink. The God of Good Fortune was one of the biggest drinkers and Partiers of the whole Magical realm, so he always was nursing a drink where ever he went. Noone had ever really seen him Sober besides Mazaya who was the cause of all his partying.

Luther Looked at everyone and made a faux sympathetic face while saying. "Mazaya changing memories and names Is not allowed and this right here is why I need to rule. Yes my laws don't seem fair but I never erased any of your memories and some of us aren't even allies. Mazaya was best friends with the God of Fortune and still altered so much. I help balance her out and I have to say That if Anyone rules but me I will just sit back and do nothing as she loses control. "

"As the same goes for me. I will not be lending a hand if everyone feels like they can handle Mazaya without any help. It's your choice and the consequences will be on you. " Exodus chimed in causing Gods to go into a frenzy with anxiety. Most didn't have their memories of Luther's rule but anyone would be dumb to not take Exoduses words to heart. Him not helping when Mazaya lost control would be like him signing a death wish to every God in the Magical realm.

.

Almost instantly alot of Gods that would've never sided with Luther agreed with him. Gods who fought with him his whole rule before, were now admitting defeat and accepting this fate. This was the biggest revolution any of the Dark High table could've asked for. The Gods who didn't agree kept their mouths shut and disapproval hidden because now was not the time to fight. There would be a fight but another day.
