Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

"Hey kid what the fuck are you doing in here? If you don't need to be treated make room for everyone else." Said one of the men in black as he rudely woke me up. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to inconvenience you. I was just waiting for someone to treat this gash on my head." As much as I hated being woken up just to be asked to leave, when I clearly needed help, I decided answering in a friendly way would be a bright idea in front of this 6'3 tall man with arms the size of my head. 'Jesus, what the fuck do these people eat; everyone here could be a basketball player.' The mans face suddenly dropped "kid stop fucking around and get out, your heads fine… but it wont be for long if you continue to fuck with me" I had to let these words resonate with me for a bit. I knew for a fact that I had a huge cut on my head, blood was poring down my face through my eyes. How could he say I was fine?

I reached up to touch my face, when I realized the pain was gone. Sure I was a little sore and my hunger was insatiable. But, my pain was gone. I got up to look for a mirror, only to find there wasn't one; but there was a washbasin in the middle of the room filled with water. I walked over to the basin, looked at my reflection and saw my wounds were all somehow healed. There was no scar, scratch, or mark of any kind. The only thing to show me there was indeed a wound at some point, was the dried blood all over my face.

'Gods this world gets crazier by the second' I walked outside where it was now dusk, and decided to look for clues about the world I was in. While, I do have some memories about this Jerrik guy, for some reason the only memories I have directly relate to him. As if there was no world just an autobiography into the life of Jerrik. Anyway, I decided a library would be the best place to start. I walked around for a bit looking for anything that might slightly resemble a bookstore. Until an hour had passed and the sun had nearly set, I realized while I might not have any family here, Jerrik does and if they don't see him soon they are going to get worried. So I decided to walk "home" for the night.

It was a small house near the edge of the walls, with the sickly smell of sewage. I walked inside where my mom was sitting on her wooden chair sleeping with dried tears on her face. Jerrik, or should I say I, had no father due to him dying in some war I cant remember when I was a kid. I had no siblings or family of any kind outside my mom and a friend from forever ago.

My mom must have been worried sick once she figured out I snuck out to fight those beasts off… and she must have felt even worse once I didn't come home. I guess its best to wake her and let her know I'm here. "Mom… wake up mom, I'm home" She was a beautiful woman, only 31 years old, standing at 5'6, with long dark-brown hair, blue eyes, and a beautiful smile; or at least it would be if she was smiling… "Why do you hate me?! I asked you one thing, and you couldn't even follow my one request… you could have died! And what's worse, you were gone most of the night having me believe you had died." While she tried her best to seem mad I could see in her eyes she was relived to see I was alive. "Now let me have a look at you. Where are you hurt?" she began inspecting my body for cuts of any kind before looking flustered "your covered head to toe in blood, yet I don't see a cut anywhere on you."

"Mom I know you're worried about me and I'm sorry to have upset you, but I'm fine I'm just really tired and sore from the long day. I'm going to go to sleep now I'll talk to you more about it tomorrow." I went to the couch where I normally slept, put my head on the side and instantly fell asleep.
