Chapter 7 - Malfoy

"Amazing...!"

"You've gotten yourself a strong wand there, Sir Black. Though, admittedly, it can be quite picky." Rune grip tightened on his wand at his word.

A picky wand?

If this wasn't the wizarding world, he'd be questioning that. Then again, there would be no need for a wand outside of the wizarding world. "Remember to stay true to yourself and your choices. This wand isn't too fond of indecisiveness." Ollivander explained this carefully, closing the empty box and setting it aside. Rune held the wand close to myself, nodded to let him know he understood his words.

"Of course. Thank you, Mr. Ollivander." Rune finally returned his smile.

His first wand...

He really was a wizard now.

He'll be able to learn magic, use it, and meet others who can do the same, as well!

"You're very welcome, Sir Black. It's been a pleasure to meet you." Ollivander spoke, waving back to him as Rune waved over his shoulder as he left.

A bright smile remained on his face as he exited the building. When he stepped outside, however, his smile fell.

Rune's parents stood side by side with casual smiles on their faces as they spoke to another pair of parents, a boy who appears to be about his age stuck to his father's side.

Rune had been so focused on getting his wand that he hadn't even realized that anyone had approached his mother and father. He's never seen them around before-- not even while they were shopping.

Honestly, though, Rune doubt any of them were paying too much attention to anyone they passed either. They were too eager to get his things.

The boy was a little shorter than Rune, a bit amusingly so, with blonde hair that was slicked back with gel that pretty much shimmered in the sunlight and eyes a shade of blue-grey that Rune have never seen in person before.

He wore a dressy casual type of attire-- matching his parents. His father had similar blond hair, though it wasn't slicked back and it was longer. His expression remained serious for the majority of his talk with Rune's father, though there was an occasional grin that tugged to his face, albeit a small one that didn't last long.

The boy's mother was actually quite beautiful. She too held a serious look, though not near as cold as her husband's. It was more so the look of a kind yet strict mother held. It was her hair that caught Rune's attention the most. The colors were layered, the bottom being blonde with the top being black. Rune wonder if it was natural or if it was dyed to look that way.

Either way, it was beautiful.

"Ah! There he is! Come on over, dear,. I'd like you to meet Malfoy's!" Rune's mother spoke cheerfully.

Rune regretted walking out of the shop for a moment. The moment he was called out was the moment everyone's eyes were on him. This included the calm gaze of the mother, the cold gaze of the father, and the curious gaze of the boy.

Rune felt his face burn with embarrassment at the sudden attention, moving to join his parents. He straightened his posture, tucking his new wand into his robes before holding his hands in front of himself.

For some reason, he felt like it was necessary to hold himself this way in front of the Malfoy's.

"Rune, this is Mrs. Narcissa, Mr. Lucius, and their son Draco." Rune's mother placed a hand on his shoulder as she introduced the Malfoy's.

Rune bowed his head in greeting and respect, soon sitting back up not too long afterwards. "It's nice to meet you."

Rune watched as Lucius nudged his son forward, who stumbled forward for a moment before quickly regaining his composure. Draco held a hand out to Rune, "It's nice to meet you as well, Rune. Hopefully we can get to know each other during our time at Hogwarts." He spoke rather formally and by the look, continuing to wait for Rune to take his hand.

Though hesitant, Rune took hold of his hand in his own, giving it a gentle shake. "Yeah... same to you."
