"Fuh, finally…" Aubrey let go of her arms around Liam's waist and slapped her palms together like she was cleaning up the leftover food debris on her hands.
"Aubrey, can you explain what were you doing just now?" Liam asked very carefully. This gentleman was worried that his words might hurt the slightly stubborn and highly-characterized Aubrey.
"There's nothing to explain. So, where are we going to eat? I am very hungry." Aubrey replied as she pulled her hair forward. Her smooth white neck was immediately visible. William swallowed hard saliva. His instincts as a man from now on were tested by Aubrey's actions that had influenced him earlier.
"I-I already ordered food. It will be coming soon. You sit down first." Liam went to his chair and sat down with his laptop on the table.
"What are you doing? I'm tired of sitting here doing nothing." Aubrey sat in the chair opposite Liam.
"I'm re-examining the planning of the painting exhibition which will be held in a month," Liam said. Aubrey nodded at that.
Suddenly there was a knock on the front door. Knock knock...
"Who is that?" Liam asked.
Without mentioning names first, the door opened and it turned out that the one who entered was Ruth, a woman who was looking for a husband among one of The Knight's children.
"Liam, you ..." Ruth's words were stopped when she saw Aubrey who was sitting sweetly in front of her target man.
"Hey, we meet again." Aubrey stood up and graciously greeted the woman Liam was about to marry. Ruth's eyes darkened and her hands clenched into fists. Her plan to take Liam out to eat, drink, and give him aphrodisiacs so that the two of them could be caught sleeping together and then married off soon, seemed to be doomed to failure.
"Liam, do you want to have lunch? I've reserved a place for the two of us to have lunch at the family restaurant. I come here on purpose to invite you." Ruth ignored Aubrey's greeting and walked over to Liam. Aubrey smirked at her.
"Another female fox will add to my plans," Aubrey muttered under her breath. Aubrey plans to be able to complete the mission for three months well and smoothly.
"Sorry, Liam and I are waiting for the food to arrive soon. The two of us will eat here. Do you want to join?" Aubrey approached Liam first and sat on his lap. "Shit, what did I do? Why can I be so aggressive like this?" Aubrey cursed herself in her heart but her lips still curled into a smile. Liam smiled faintly at Aubrey's proactive attitude towards him.
"Ruth, sorry I… will eat with Aubrey here. Maybe next time, we can eat together." Liam replied politely decline. However, Aubrey did not think so.
"Next time? It seems my boyfriend has plans to cheat behind my back." Aubrey looked at Liam with piercing eyes. Liam, who didn't realize his mistake, could only smirk with his innocent and guilty look.
"Sorry Ruth, I… looks like I'll be busy these few days," Liam replied timidly.
"This man… doesn't want to be close to that woman but instead gives her hope. Doesn't he know that it's easy for women to get carried away with words even if it's just a glimmer of hope?" Aubrey muttered under her breath.
"Okay then, I'll wait for you to have dinner at home." Ruth turned to want to leave the room holding back the emotions welling up in her chest.
"Sorry Miss Ruth, the house you are referring to is Liam's parents' house. So, you who are the quest shouldn't order the owner of the house to do whatever you want." Aubrey said in a slightly threatening tone.
Ruth stopped walking and smiled sarcastically. The woman turned around and said,
"Miss Aubrey, you are just a girlfriend who can break up at any time. So, don't be too proud just yet." Ruth clenched her jaw and walked out slamming the door.
Liam pursed his lips in contemplation, "This is the first time a woman has fought over me. It feels like you are the most handsome and the only man on this earth." Liam muttered to himself while smiling happily.
"Why are you smiling to yourself? Are you happy that two girls are fighting over you? Liam, listen to me, since we're acting, we have to do our best. After three months, I'll pretend I don't know you if I meet you on the street." Aubrey walked over and sat back in the guest chair provided.
Liam fell silent and the smile disappeared from his red lips.
"I'm sorry, I... don't deserve to be... your boyfriend let alone your husband. In fact, all women will not want me sincerely regardless of my social status." Liam replied with a sad face. Aubrey sighed at the sight.
"It seems that my words were too harsh to hurt his heart." Aubrey thought to herself.
"That is not what I mean. I just want you to know that our relationship is just an agreement. I'm sure there are many out there who want to be your woman, especially you have an almost perfect face and body." Aubrey replied shyly. The blonde-haired girl turned her face to the side. Liam smiled faintly at her.
Knock knock...
"Please come in," Liam said.
"Excuse me, sir William, the food has arrived." Neil, the assistant came with one hand carrying two packs of food and drinks that William had ordered.
Liam stood up and greeted him warmly, "Please put it on the table, Neil. And, thank you." Neil placed the food parcel on the table and the man spoke.
"Have a nice lunch, Mr. William and Miss Aubrey," Neil said while bowing respectfully.
"Have a nice lunch too, Neil," said William.
"Thank you, Neil," Aubrey said kindly.
After Neil came out, Liam sat on the sofa chair next to Aubrey.
"Let's eat first, you said you were hungry." Liam handed Aubrey a spoon and fork which Aubrey accepted with a faint smile.
They also ate lunch in silence without talking at all. After lunch, Aubrey wants to go back home but Liam asks the blue-eyed woman to accompany him one more time somewhere.
"I'll take you home after that. Your car was already delivered home by my driver. I hope you don't mind and I'm sorry if I didn't ask before." Liam replied.
"Where are we going?" Aubrey asked.
"My apartment," William replied curtly.
Aubrey widened her eyes, not believing what she was hearing.
"What? To your apartment?" Aubrey swallowed hard saliva.
"As you said so that our actions can be done to the maximum, I immediately thought of taking you to my apartment. I've never taken a girl to my apartment before, and my mother doesn't even know where my apartment is. Because of the condition of her body that can not travel far anywhere." William said.
