Gray and Nelliel VS Aqualas
"Crap, crap, CRAP!!!" Gray ran through the ruined buildings, dodging massive undead dragons that were rampaging all over the place. It had only been 15 minutes into the battle, and Aqualas had already turned the tables on them, making quick work of Wendy, and managing to totally dominate Gray. As Gravix had told him so long ago.....Aqualas didn't earn the title as the ace of Hydra Head for nothing.
In hot pursuit of Gray was a ginormous wave of black water on which Aqualas stood like a strangly stiff surfer, riding the waves towards his intended targets. With both his hands occupied in carrying an unconscious Wendy, Gray wasn't able to use any ice magic to slow Aqualas down, and was instead, forced to run even faster. Not that it would have mattered anyways. As it turned out, freezing wouldn't have been much use anyways, especially considering that the water Aqualas used could not be frozen no matter what Gray did.
In truth, Aqualas was stronger and faster with his attacks. Something which was able to quickly pierce through Wendy's support magic. Now, Gray could only hope that he might run into some of the other magic guilds so that they could maybe take down Aqualas with a combined effort of some sort. (It was this moment right now that made Gray glad he wasn't fighting in the Black Flood Marshes, where Aqualas acted like a pure psycho.)
"Running will only take you so far..." said Aqualas in his usual calm voice. "Eventually your feet will tire, and you will be forced into battle. I however, never tire...not as long as the water in the air and ground are drawn to me...."
"Shut up!" panted Gray as he ran. "You're just too lazy to use your feet you nutjob!!"
Aqualas did not respond to that (Aqualas is completely oblivious to insults). Instead he raised his hand. "Aquatic Sentinal of The Water God!!"
In Gray's path, the ground erupted with enormous power as a massive humanoid golem made completely of black water crashed out of the earth, splashing and morphing with every step as it seemed to spring up like it had an inner geyser welling up within.
The Aquatic Sentinal stretched out a massive watery arm at Gray, who jumped out of the way as the water fist crushed the cobblestone road beneath it.
Gray cursed as he realized that he was now cornered. The Aquatic Sentinal advanced from the front as Aqualas lowered his wave and stepped onto the road, advancing from the back.
Aqualas raised both his hands up. "Feasting River: Keto!!"
The ground erupted at Aqualas's feet, and a ginormous serpent with sharp fangs made completely out of black water burst out of the ground and shot at Gray like a hungry viper. Before Keto could bite into Gray though, a familiar watery dragon's tail thrashed into it's neck and slammed the move into a black puddle.
"Saphire Lotus: Scalding Beam!!!!!"
Nelliel jumped in front of Gray, her Water Dragon Tail whipping around angrilly as she thrust her finger out and a ginormous steaming blast of burning hot water shot out and blasted into a black water shield Aqualas conjured in front of him.
Nelliel then turned to look at the Aquatic Sentinal and slammed her hand against the ground. "Skyward Geyser Rocket of the Water Dragon!!"
A massive geyser of water blasted out of the ground from below the sentinal and tore it apart with it's enormous pressure. Nelliel fell to her knees panting from the amount of magic she had just performed.
"Nelliel!!" Gray ran over to Nelliel and knelt next to her. "Are you okay!?"
"I-I could smell you....." said Nelliel a tear forming in her eye. "And then I saw you were in trouble....so I snapped a bit."
"Well I'm alright now, thanks to you." said Gray with a grin.
"Alright?" said Aqualas walking forwards slowly. "I haven't even shown you my full power...and you think you're alright? Especially with an injured member of your group..."
Nelliel glowered at Aqualas. "Those who would misuse the power of the ocean in such a way...it's dispicable..."
Nelliel touched a finger to the unconscious Wendy's forhead. "Saphire Lotus: Divine Sanctuary...."
Immediately, Wendy was wrapped in a cocoon of water which disappated into a sweet smelling vapor, taking Wendy along with it.
"Wha!? What happened to Wendy!?" said Gray.
"I transported her to the safest place in the city my magic could find.....we'll be able to retrieve her later..." said Nelliel. "Though I needed to add in a little more esper power so it didn't drain my magic too much....."
Gray nodded. "Thank you....guess now I can fight all out without much worry."
Gray stood up to face Aqualas. He then tore off his shirt and let it fly into the wind.
"Wha-WHA!?" Nelliel exclaimed, her face turning steamy red. "Wh-why are you stripping again!?"2
"I prefer a cool breeze when I fight." said Gray grinning. "Anyways....wanna help me take this schmuck.....cause I don't think I can do it alone."4
"O-okay!" said Nelliel in a small voice, her face still really red. "Oh man....why is my heart pumping so fast!?" (It seems Gray has a little tendency to attract female water mages...)11
Gray shrugged. "Probably just the adrenaline. Now let's get this guy!!"
"Y-yeah!"
Aqualas shook his head. "Fools......I'll show you what your insolence brings....."
Aqualas clasped his hands together, his eyes glowing ominously. "DIVINE DEMON OF THE WATER GOD!!!!!!"1
A titanic surge of black water surrounded Aqualas and engulfed him. Immediately the water grew and expanded until it formed a large ginormous figure with four arms, large horns, and red glowing eyes. The water demon then grew larger and larger, till it's very horns reached 2000 feet in the air. A ginormous monster sized creature of incredible proportions. In each of it's four hands, a long katana formed, the edges of the blades sizzled as black acid dripped down the liquid blades.
"What is that thing!?" said Nelliel, her eyes wide with terror.
"It's Divine Demon of the Water God!" shouted Gray. "He used it when he attempted to kill me and my friends in the Black Flood Marshes....it's the same level as Gramps's Fairy Law!"
The demon roared and raised one of it's swords. It swung the acid blade downwards at Nelliel and Gray.....too fast for any of them to dodge......and Gray.....of course the first thing he thought was........yep, this is it, we're doomed.....
Gray hugged Nelliel protectively with his back towards the incoming blade. He shut his eyes, bracing for impact.
a second passed....
then a minute......
Gray opened his eyes and what he saw absolutely baffled his mind. He was standing inside a ginormous hollowed out shell of black water that must have gone up for thousands of feet. Platforms of rock floated around randomly within the the thing. One of the rocks, Gray and Nelliel were standing on.
"How did we-" Gray began, But then he noticed the large samurai figure made completely out of glowing saphire liquid holding him and Nelliel protectively. It was covered completely in liquid samurai armor, On it's back were two massive swords. beneath the eyehole's on it's mask, there were glowing purple eyes.
Gray looked back at Nelliel, and was shocked to see that she was emitting a massive load of magic power comparable to that of the most powerful of mages.
"Thi-this is my Dragon Force ability...." said Nelliel with a bit of strain in her voice, as if she was struggling to control her power. Sameyoroi (Shark Armor).....I was able to use it to transport us directly inside that water demon...."
"How were you able to enter Dragon Force!?" Said Gray. "I thought you had trouble controlling your power!"
Nelliel held up her wrist, on it was a strange silver device with flashing knobs and lights. "Academy City fused this to me when I was created....it draws magic from the surrounding area over a long period of time...and when I need to....I can activate it to drastically increase my power to the point where I enter Dragon Force.....Though.....I don't know how long it will last...."
"Wait..." said Gray. "If we're inside the water demon.....does that mean we can take down Aqualas from the inside!?"
"You're welcome to try...." a bulge appeared in the water shell and Aqualas shot out of it, his hands engulfed in giant black watery fists. "Demon Fist Of The Water God!!!"
"Sameyorai! Defense Mode now!!" shouted Nelliel.
Sameyorai obeyed and jumped in front of Gray, Sameyorai caught the black watery fists in both it's watery armored hands and threw Aqualas 500 ft into the air.
"Now!! Sameyorai!!" shouted Nelliel. "VICIOUS BARACUDA BLADE!!!!"
Sameyorai jumped off the rock platform and jumped off the black watery walls like a massive ninja until he came next to Aqualas. In mid air Sameyorai drew it's massive swords and did quick x shaped slash into Aqualas, creating a bloody gash in the God Slayer's torso.
Gray put his hands out in his Ice Make motion. "ICE MAKE!!! FREEZE LANCER!!!!"
A multitude of frozen spear-like projectiles shot at Aqualas and colided with him in an explosion of frozen air.
When the frozen mist cleared, however, Aqualas was grinning and hovering in the air on a disk made of black water. Aqualas raised his hands as he began to eminate saint level magic power. "DROWNING BLACK SPHERE!!!!!"
A massive sphere of black water formed above Aqualas and exploded with incredible force, blowing Nelliel and Gray off the rocky platform and causing them to fall down towards the dark abyss below. Before they hit the water however, there was a saphire blur, and Sameyorai caught them and ran up the watery wall at amazing speeds for it's large bulk.
As Sameyorai ran up the water wall, Gray thrust out his hands again. "Ice Make: Cage!!"
A giant cage made completely of ice fell on top of Aqualas, ramming him into the pool of black water below with a massive splash.
Sameyorai landed on another rock platform. Just as he did so, the pool below erupted with massive power, and a ginormous barrage of black watery hands extended outwards towards their targets above...determine to destroy them.
"I can't get Sameyorai to teleport us again!" said Nelliel frantically as she tried to concentrate her magic. We're sitting ducks!!"
No we're not..." said Gray. "You said your esper ability allowed you to control water in the area..."
"But I'm only a level 4!" said Nelliel. "I can't control water of that scale!!"
Gray grabbed Nelliel's shoulders. "Listen, I know enough about Mikoto's abilities to know your esper powers combine with your magic to increase power......see if you can do that the other way around!!"
"I-I'll try....!"
Nelliel closed her eyes...immediately all the moisture in the air seemed to get a little heavier as the large black watery hands rose into the air towards them...suddenly Nelliel gave a tremendous scream, and the all the water that made up the Divine Demon Of the Water God suddenly turned a clear ocean blue......there was a tremendous explosion of vapor and Gray felt him and Nelliel tumble through the air as white spashes of clear liquid crashed into them from all angles.
When Gray opened his eyes, he was lying on the ground. There seemed to be some sort of strange noise in the backround.....everything was blurred. As his vision came into focus again...he heard the one thing that made him stumble to his feet: a clear frightened scream.
Gray looked around to find that Aqualas was standing in the middle of the drenched street....holding Nelliel by the throat.
"How dare you..." Aqualas whispered in extreme fury. "You dare to hijack MY power....I will make sure you never have that chance again!!!!"
Nelliel's eyes pleaded silently with Aqualas as she began to choke to death.
Gray tried to move forward, but cursed as he realized his leg was broken. He limped as fast as he could, thinking only of making it in time...
"And now....." said Aqualas, as Nelliel began to choke even more. "Your end approaches- AAACCCKKK!!!"
Aqualas dropped Nelliel who immediately began to gasp for air, heaving as she felt her own throat.
Aqualas looked down at his chest where a blade made of cold ice was sticking out. Gray put his mouth close to Aqualas's ear. "Not if I end you first...."
Aqualas fell to the ground and exploded into a puddle of black water. The puddle evaporated.....and several strange looking black lobsters crawled away from all that remained of Aqualas........
Nelliel sniffled and hugged Gray, crying into his shoulder. Gray held Nelliel for a moment. "It's okay.....he's gone......."
