Keya P.O.V
We make it to Grammy's. And park in the back. To avoid nosy ass neighbors. Honestly, people act like it's their damn business to be all up in your business. Grammy opens the door and gets her pile of mail.. While Manny and I help to bring in everyone's stuff. And I help them put up everything. While Manny & Grammy drive to drop off the rental van. After we're done, I cook them a pleasant lunch. Consisting of various sandwiches, chips, baked cookies, milk and fruit juice. We all eat and talk about how much fun we had this week. When we're done, I clean up the kitchen. And decide its time to talk to Tey about his dream of werewolves.
"Hey, Tey?" I call him from the kitchen. They were in the living room playing Sega Channel. He comes in. "Yeah, Keya?" "Come sit so we can talk." He sits in the chair next to me. "What's up?" I look down into his eyes. The same brown outlined in blue as my own. And am in awe that he is a werewolf like me. But he doesn't know it yet. I believe that time is now.
"Can you tell me about that dream? You know, the one you had about the werewolf?" I slowly asks. He gasps, spooked. Gulps and shivers, stuttering quietly. "O.. okay. I was in a forest. I think.. There were lots of trees everywhere. It was nighttime. And suddenly I hear a long, deep howl. It was scary. Then this real big, black & silver wolf walks over to me. Out of the trees." He gestures with his arms wide, how big the wolf was. Then he huddles close to me. Looks around wide-eyed and cautious. He whispers, shocked.
"He turns into a man! I've never seen anything like that before! I was so scared..." He pants, slowly shaking his head. He looks terrified. He is slightly shivering and starts to sweat. I embrace him in a comforting side hug. I wipe his forehead. Smoothing out his frown and hair. "It's okay. Just take your time and breathe, ok?" I calmly encourage him with a kind smile.
After some calming breaths, he nods and continues. "I hear him in my head say, 'You're going to be an Alpha, Kinte. But I pray to Mother that you are not corrupt like your ancestor. Because it did not end well for him. And it won't be for you either. If you decide to go down the path he chose.' He puts his huge hand on my shoulder, smiles and nods at me. After that, I wasn't so scared anymore. Then he turns back into a wolf. He comes and bumps his big, furry head into me. Almost knocking me over! But it didn't hurt me." He laughs. I do as well. "Wow, that's weird. But also cool too, huh?" He nods, still laughing. "Yeah. He had really soft fur. It was long too." Damn, I wonder who this Wolfman is?
Hmm? "Did he look anything like Mr. Manny at all?" His little face scrunches in thought. He gasps and nods enthusiastically. "Oh yeah, he looks just like Mr. Manny! But his skin was much lighter. And he's taller too. But I don't remember seeing any tattoos on him." He nods his head decisively. 'I believe it's Viktor. If he looks like Manny. Then there's no doubt.' Ja'el comments. I agree too. I don't remember spotting tattoos on Viktor, either. Oh! "Um, when did you have this dream?" He pouts and squints up at the ceiling, trying to remember. "About 2 months ago? I believe." I gasp, surprised. Damn, that's around the time I met Manny!
What does this mean? How does Viktor know about me and Tey being a Werewolf?! Are we all connected somehow? Just when I thought most of my questions were answered. More need to be asked! Jeez. Oh yeah! "When you were talking to Viktor, um, the wolfman. Were you a wolf or just your regular self?" His eyes grew big as he gasps, awed. "I was just myself. Will I turn into a wolf one day like he did too?" I rub his shoulder comfortingly and tell him the truth. "I believe that one day. We both will." He gulps, "Whoa, that's scary cool." He looks scare-cited now. We return to the living room with the others.
I'm playing video games when I get a mindlink from Manny. 'We're back.' I tell him, 'Tey had a dream about Viktor around the time we met.' 'What, seriously?' 'Yep, I just finished talking to him about it.' 'Was it a nightmare?' 'No it wasn't bad.. But I think Viktor somehow knows about Tey and I.' 'What, that's insane!' 'Yeah, I know right?' He sighs.. 'We can discuss this later though. What are you doing now? Are you ready to go?' 'Just playing Sonic. But yeah, I'm ready.' 'Wait, you play video games?' Duh! 'Uh, yeah. I'm a straight gamer head.' 'Damn, we're gonna have to play together sometime soon.' 'Okay, prepare to get beat! Because I'm really good. Don't think I'll show you any mercy because you're my Man.' He gives a cocky chuckle. 'Oh, it's on now.' I giggle. 'Bring it on, Papi.'
Just then Grammy walks inside looking super relaxed. And a little too pleased with herself. Oh no, what happened? He comes in. Walks past her towards me. She stops to let him walk by her. Gazing at him slyly and smacks his ass! OMG!! He jumps and yelps, surprised. His face is so red as he peers nervously horrified between me and Grammy. Panting heavily as he exaggerates.
'She kept rubbing on me. Like the entire drive back! Saying shit like, "Mm mm mm! Keya doesn't know what to do with you! But I sure do." And shit like, "Oooh Boi! Do you workout every day? How much do you lift? You can always come lift me." Ay Dios Mio, Mami. It was nonstop! Is she always this.. Straightforward? I.. We feel so violated!' The look on his face is priceless! Grammy is a riot! LMAO!
