Chapter 62 - The Curse on the Alphas' Bloodline Part 3

Keya P.O.V

Curse? Tainted Blood? What the hell is Kane talking about?! And why's Granny looking so sad? She sighs heavily. "The best way to tell you this is from the beginning. Well as I said before, Viktor Von Klaus is the first of our Kind. Sometime after he was created, there came the Special Wolven Tribal Packs. Every Tribe has a different special ability. We are of the Creek Tribe. We're born with the ability to Split. Meaning if we so choose to. I and my Wolf, Asha will divide ourselves into two individual bodies. I in my own and her in hers. Yet we are still 100% connected. We can think, see, hear, taste, feel, attack, heal, etc, together." Wow, that's so cool! Ja'el cheers, 'I know right!? I told you. We are special!'

I hear Kane, "Hmmm." Thoughtfully, behind me. 'I wonder if Manuel and I are capable of such a special feat?' He asks. I reply, 'Well, you never know until you try.' "What are the abilities of the Special Wolven Tribal Packs?"

"There are so many different things that they can do. Some have wings. Some can create sharp spikes to come out of their skin to impale others. Some have telekinetic powers. Some can roar the fur off of others, because of strong lungs. Some can breathe underwater. Some are immune to silver. There are so many different things they can do. I'm still learning about them. All of this historical information is located in the Lycandome's Archives. It is exclusive to Lycan & Wolven kind. Via the Spirit Realm. And only available after you turn 16. The Goddess wanted her children to be a bit mature when they are allowed to study our history."

I'm amazed. "Wow, this is extremely interesting. Wolves can do so much stuff. Um.. who created this Archive?" Granny replies with great pride, reverence and respect in her voice. She holds her head high, chest out. "The Goddess of the Moon. The Mother of all Lycan and Wolven kind, Selene Ishtar." Whoa... We have our own Goddess! 'Yes, we do!' Ja'el gushes confidently.

But something made me wonder about the Splitting. "What if one of you gets hurt real badly? Would you survive?" "Yes, of course. We can heal one another and ourselves. But I feel as if you're asking about if one of us died?" I nod slowly. Horrid images are popping up in my mind. Me surviving in a world without Ja'el. Or vice versa. She nods.

"Well, if one of us died. And the other survives. We'll just be either without our Were meaning human or our Wolf. It's extremely rare. But it has happened. The wolf turned wild. And chose to dwell in the wilderness. Breeding with regular wolves. Making their Offspring stronger and more intelligent. The Were it happened to still lived among the Pack. Still with the strength of everyone else. But only without their wolf." Oh man, that's crazy!

Granny continues. "This leads me to Our Family's Curse. One of our ancestors around 700 years or so ago. He used his Splitting ability for evil purposes. He and his Wolf would Split to torment or kill innocent people. He was warned many times by Mother Selene Ishtar. But he allowed his title and power to go to his head. So she stripped him of the title of Alpha. And as punishment, everyone who was born from him. His Bloodline. The Prophecy goes: 'Until one is born in his bloodline without an evil soul is Fated to one of equal degree. The Curse will continue.' Until this couple comes. We can not Split or shift into our wolves. Neither can we be at full strength, power, or assume leadership of our Packlands again!"

Oh my God! "Wait, so I actually belong to a Pack?" She nods softly and exclaims with great pride. "Of course you do! It is your birthright to hopefully lead it one day. That is if you are the One. We were not chosen. Because nothing happened when we met our Fated Mates." She was referring to herself and her daughters. "Our Tribe's Pack is called the Mississippi Delta Pack. It's in the Southeastern region of this country. Remember when I told you that, I'm from Alabama?" I nod. "Okay, and my Mate was from Arkansas."

"Was?" Kane questions. She nods softly. A sad expression covers her lovely face. She really is as beautiful as the Natives that we see in our history books. Dark brown flawless skin, strong round nose, and high cheekbones. Her long dark hair is always parted down the middle in two long braids. She absently rubs the necklace on her neck. An intricately embellished gold ring hangs there. "My Mate died when we lived in Los Angeles. I couldn't bear to stay there after his death. Too many memories you see. So that's why we decided to move here to Chicago."

Kane sighs heavily. "I'm sorry for your loss. I don't know how you have the will to go on." He turns me to look into his now brown eyes. "I know I'd die in a world without My Keya." He quietly confesses, a sad and serious frown on his handsome face. He slowly caresses my lips. They quiver as I shiver involuntarily. Man, I still can't believe how crazy this guy is about me. I mean like, we've been together for a week. And he can't live without me? Whoa!

He brings our foreheads together. I've learned that he likes to do this a lot. "Goddess, I love you My Keya!" I hear and feel the overwhelming emotion in his words. And as much as I'd love to get lost in him right now. I really want to know about my family's past. And our Pack. 'I love you too, Kane.' He nuzzles me for a while.

I inhale. Forcing myself to turn away from him and those amazing pitch-black orbs. Which has a blueish-gray ring now. Asking her, "What kind of evil stuff did he do? And if we're not in charge anymore, who is?" I'm terribly interested in all this unknown history. And want to know everything! Granny put her hand up to stop my questioning. "Hold on a second. I'll tell you everything you need to know, eventually. Just breathe, okay?" She chuckles lightly. I nod eagerly.

But before she can continue my oldest aunt curiously inquires of Kane, "If you are Viktor's Son, why don't you have a Pack?" He simply tells her. "Because my father did not have one. He has always been a lone Lycan. The Pack life is more of a Werewolf trait. Not us Lycans. We don't desire many companions. We just require our Mate and Offspring. Simple living." He turns to me smiling, and pats my tummy. Gulp! Oh damn! Is that why he keeps trying to knock me up & keep me to himself so badly? It's all he talks about.

"We also have a strong desire for our Mate and Offspring." Granny defends. Kane retorts. "Yes. But you also have this need to be surrounded by many companions. Especially Family. Don't you?" He rubs my face gently. His eyes narrow thoughtfully. "I see it in My Keya. She gets anxious and agitated when she isn't around her 'Stinkers' after some time." He chuckles lightly. "Don't you?" He asks me quietly. Staring into my eyes seriously yet amused. I frown, Duh. Of course, I do. And it's good that he notices these things. Because they are extremely important to me.

"Yup. I've always taken care of them. We've never really had our parents around. So I'll always be there for them. They know that." His face turns serious and his eyes change. Like he is talking to the other guys. After a few seconds, his face relaxed. He smiles, proudly. Whispering, "You will make an excellent Mother to our pups!"

My aunt Suzette asks suspiciously, "Are you by chance mixed with something else? I smelled some weird scents coming from you just now." He stiffens. Looks at her then me and asks. 'Tell them?' I nod, and shrug. 'We might as well.' He relaxes and then explains, "Yes. I am Lycan, Dragon, Vampire, Merman, Giant, and Demon."

Oh man, talk about being shocked. Cherry- "Damn, Keya?!" Suzette- "What the Hell?!" Granny- "Are you serious?" He nods. He asks excitedly. "Yes. Would you like to meet with them?" "NO!" They all yell horrified. I laugh but also sigh in huge relief. Whew!
