'I'm dead last haha, well as long as I pass.' Rei thought as a minute had passed since the coach started the tryouts, and everyone started running like wild animals with no destination, wasting all their stamina.
Then 2 laps later Rei saw some guy in the front zooming off like Speedy Gonzalez breaking away from anybody.
Within a minute the guy in first was right behind him about to pass him.
"Fucking try hard," Rei exclaimed in a low voice just loud enough for the guy next to him to hear him.
"Sorry bro better look next year haha." the guy exclaimed as he was about to pass Rei with a smug smile on his face that Rei just wanted to stab the guy with an icicle.
Within a matter of seconds, Rei decided.
'Fuck this guy.' He thought as Rei speed up, as he made the guy behind him eat his dust, as Rei went from 200th to 180th in a matter of seconds.
'Haha, I wish I could see that dumbass face of his right now.' he thought to himself as he reduced his pace again to stay at 180th without losing his position.
Rei could hear the guy trying to catch up to him as he heard people starting to get disqualified. It started with 5 people but after 45 seconds before it turned into 15 people being disqualified meaning 180 people were left and meaning Rei was dead last again which wasn't so bad.
That's when the same guy as before was right behind him.
'I wonder how many people are gonna be left after this test.' Rei pondered to himself as he picked up the pace again in a blink of an eye as he could hear the guy cursing at him.
'He's got a sharp tongue.' Rei chuckled.
He passed a lot of people picking up his pace every time until he realized that he was in the 20th spot.
While the other guy at first kept going eliminating people like he's the grim reaper going after chickens.
The guy alone eliminated 60 people and they've only run a mile and a half leaving 140 people left.
'Ugh, this is so boring.' Rei thought as he thought how funny it would be to pass the guy in first so he kept picking up his pace almost all the way zooming straight to 2nd.
Soon he passed the guy in first without even talking to him like he was a piece of cardboard while Rei heard him try and talk to him but he just kept running eventually reaching the backline.
'This is bullshit, it's already been 2 miles but... people are giving up.' he thought as people just stopped running and soon in a few minutes 35 people disqualified themselves leaving 105 people left.
Rei went full speed since it didn't look like they were stopping without a certain amount of people being eliminated, and he was bored again so he figured might as well speed up the process.
Soon he started eliminating people faster than the guy before, left and right like a dog biting their asses, and soon he eliminated 65 people at a drop of a hat as some people would say figuratively.
Once he eliminated the 65th guy Coach Miller blew his whistle indicating it was over.
'Finally, it's about time, we ran for three miles.' Rei mumbled as he started counting how many people were left which was 40 players in total counting himself.
"Okay everyone 3-minute break do not waste it and try to savor it." Coach Miller said with a smile on his face as a lot of participants fell on the floor trying to catch their breath while he walked to the grass area, and sat down wiping off his sweat.
As he was cooling down he suddenly felt someone tap his shoulder as he looked over his shoulder.
Rei saw it was the same guy he beat earlier.
"Where are you from?" he asked Rei in a condescending tone of voice that irritated him for some reason.
"What do you mean?" Rei asked in his usual tone of voice which is colder than Mount Everest as the temperature dropped a few degrees making the guy shiver a bit.
"What middle school did you go to?" he asked as he rubbed his arms, feeling cold even though the sun was out.
"It's none of your business, but I didn't play in middle school," he replied even colder than before slightly annoyed for him as he tried to rest, as Rei saw the guy start laughing in front of him once he answered.
"Haha you'll never make it past the real tryouts so don't bother showing your face again especially in front of the campus belle fucking loser," he stated as he started walking off, but Rei just ignored what he said thinking he was an idiot for trying to start something for something so meaningless.
After a few seconds, later someone tapped his shoulder again, and when he looked over he saw her again.
She was smiling, a gentle affectionate smile that seemed to make spring bloom as her soothing voice entered his ears. Her lips were curved in a way that made his heart flutter, and her eyes sparkled with a warmth that seemed to reach out and caress him.
Her cheeks were rosy and her skin glowed with a soft radiance that made him feel like he was standing in the sun.
The sound of her voice was like a gentle breeze, caressing his soul and calming his spirit. It was like a lullaby, soothing away all of his worries and fears. He felt like he could just sit and listen to her forever, and he was filled with a sense of peace and contentment.
"Wow you're fast," He couldn't help but be mesmerized by her beauty. Her silver hair flowed in the wind like a river of liquid silver, the sun behind her making it seem like a halo of light. Her giggle was like a melody that made his ears twitch with delight, and the smile on her face was like a ray of sunshine that lit up the entire world.
Her eyes were like two pools of sapphire, sparkling and twinkling in the sunlight. Her lips were like two petals of a rose, soft and inviting. Her skin was like porcelain, smooth and flawless. Her figure was like a sculpture, perfect, graceful, and seductive.
Her light grey eyes were like two pools of sapphire, sparkling and twinkling in the sunlight. They were so captivating that it was almost impossible to look away. The color of her eyes was like a stormy sky, with a hint of blue that seemed to be illuminated by the sun. Her gaze was so intense that it felt like she could see right through you. With a gaze so deep and mysterious that it was like looking into a bottomless abyss, something he could admire for a long time without ever getting tired.
"Thank you," he responded with a charming smile that made her face red, and her heart flutter.
As for her, once she saw his charming smile she thought to herself. 'Calm down you stupid heart of mine, stop fluttering.' she thought as she took a deep breath and said with a smile.
"I think you're faster than the varsity shortstop."
"I'll take that as a compliment so thank you," Rei replied warmly.
"So I never asked you for your name," She asked with a shy voice, her words barely audible above the sound of the wind rustling through the field, but Rei heard her due to how close they were.
"Rei Kitsune..." he replied with a forced smile.
"That's a cute name, the spirit fox" she responded with a cute chuckle as her expression turned from a smile into one of pure shock.
"Kitsune!? As in Ryuu Kitsune?" she almost yelled for the world to hear but she stopped herself in time.
"Haha yeah, that's my father..." he replied while he started laughing at how adorable she acted.
"So when you mentioned you were trained by your father you meant you were trained by a..." She was about to finish her sentence before Rei cut her off.
"Yes, a professional," he replied with a chuckle as he saw the shock still lingering on her face.
'Quite kissable.' he thought as he looked at her cherry rose lips that looked so kissable, and enticing but that thought only lasted for a second.
"Wow, that's amazing," she exclaimed with a smile.
"Yeah, I guess but he's never really home though. So what's your name," he asked, trying to change the subject.
"Sun Yuxin," Yuxin said with a smile as she did a little jump that made her peerless snow skin breasts jiggle which made him a bit light-headed.
"Wait Sun? As in Sun Academy, the school we are currently in, meaning your father is Sun Jian? and the sophomore who is softball's varsity star player and captain!?" Rei asked almost screaming out the same way she did but stopping himself the shock on his face was the same as hers.
"Yes hehe," Yuxin replied with a cute giggle and a tomato-red face as she looked at his adorable reactions that almost made her want to jump in his arms.
Though she did grab his hand rather quickly and shyly as she turned her head away.
"So I also know how it is not to have a father home all the time," Yuxin said as her face turned as red as it can get as she was cherishing holding his hand that was so smooth like jade yet so warm.
He was slightly better than her as his face had a red tint to it as he felt her small delicate slim hand holding his cherishing it with a smile on his face.
The moment was electric. As their hands intertwined, they felt a spark of electricity that seemed to course through their veins. His hands were strong and warm, while hers were delicate and soft. They looked into each other's eyes, and the intensity of the moment was palpable.
His eyes were a deep, passionate purple, while hers were a perfect shade of light grey. The air around them seemed to thicken as they both realized what was happening.
Neither of them wanted to let go.
They quickly released their hands like scared kittens, and both of them turned their heads away, their cheeks flushed with steam. The moment seemed to linger in the air, and neither of them wanted it to end. They both felt a connection that was unlike anything they had ever experienced before.
As if the gods felt embarrassed just watching their interaction with each other, Coach Miller's voice bellowed through the field again.
"Round 2 will begin." Coach Miller said, startling both of them.
"So I guess I gotta go," Rei said with a gentle smile on his face.
"I'll still be watching," Yuxin responded with a charming smile as they both grabbed each other's hands again looking at each other.
"Better cheer for me haha," he stated as he let go of her hand reluctantly and ran back to the tryouts as he threw her another charming smile.
