An evil expression was plastered onto Axel's face as he climbed onto a nearby hill to be able to get a better look into the goblin camp.
Camps within maps were basically death-traps for normal players who entered alone. However, to those who were strong enough, they were essentially exp farms. A camp was similar to the mob spawner for certain maps which had intelligent creatures.
By intelligence, it was referring to those who lived in communities, like goblins, hobgoblins, ogres, and many more. Naturally, there were plenty of species that possessed great intelligence but did not live in communities, and therefore did not have camps, like those of draconic bloodlines.
The goblin camp was a level 5-10 camp, which meant it randomly produced goblins ranging between levels 5-10 every 10 minutes, in batches of 3.
Of course, goblins had incredibly short lifespans, lasting only for 3 hours, therefore maintaining a constant number around 50, and that number quickly recovered within a few hours when someone like Axel came along to wipe them all out. It was obvious that those mobs that died naturally would not drop any loot, preventing people from stalking monsters to just gain their loot.
This particular camp should have around 20 goblins, and likely even a Variant Goblin as their leader. A few minutes passed and a group of 2 goblins left the camp, and at the same time, a group of 3 goblins appeared from inside the only building that existed within the wooden walls of the camp, where the variant was likely to be present.
Axel took out the [White Goblin Bow] and the arrows he had collected thus far, before pulling back the Bow-string.
The feeling of pulling back the taut bowstring and stretching it even further just before the bow lost its elasticity and broke, created a sense of joy in Axel's heart. It was a feeling that he was experiencing for the first time in this life, and he remained still to just take in the sensation with his eyes closed.
A moment later, his eyes opened and after spotting a goblin within the camp from his position on the hill, perfectly placing the goblin camp at the limits of his range, allowing him to casually snipe away at them.
*whoosh*
The arrow left the bow, but Axel did not bother to look at where the arrow went, since he only had around 10 minutes before the next batch of goblins spawned, and he did not want to waste all his time on goblins that no longer gave him large amounts of exp.
Within just 3 seconds, he had already pulled out the next arrow, pulled the bowstring, and aimed.
*whoosh*
*whoosh*
β¦
He launched 23 arrows and killed off all the 23 goblins within the camp, successfully luring the boss of this camp, and this entire map, out of the spawner room. However, he did not have any arrows left to deal with it, and so he would have to face it with whatever he had on him. Furthermore, after firing those 20 arrows, the [White Goblin Bow] had its durability reduced to 1, which basically made it useless after firing one last arrow.
Even though his profession was an archer, he was not afraid of close-quarters combat.
Taking out one of the 4 goblin knives he had looted thus far, which was around 3/4th the size of the bronze dagger he had in his inventory, and ran towards the goblin camp.
However, he did not enter it, and the Variant Goblin did not sense him.
Axel secured his stance, before pulling back his arm and throwing the knife he had collected, and pulling out another knife just as the first knife successfully landed on the left foot of the goblin, which was about as tall as himself, and had a slightly less ugly face.
*Kreech!*
The goblin yelled out in pain as its left leg collapsed, causing him to kneel on the ground.
However, before it could recover from the pain and find its assailant, another dagger had just flown over his head. Causing it to look over in Axel's direction, immediately finding the one responsible.
'Shit'
Although Axel cursed inwardly because he did not have a knife-throwing skill which caused him to miss, he did not stop, and took out the remaining 2 knives from his inventory and threw them at the goblin, before rushing towards it with the bronze dagger in his hand, completely focussed on the battle.
Out of the two knives, one of them completely missed the goblin by a lot, however, the second one somehow managed to land on the chest of the goblin, immediately reducing its HP by 4. Added with the previous 3 damage done to it, in addition to the continuous burn damage that was being inflicted, the goblin had its HP reduced by 1/4th in just a brief exchange, and rapidly going down. What was worse was that one of those hits had caused one of his legs to fall into the [immobile] state due to injury, and would require at least a day or two to fully recover.
At this moment, the variant goblin, who was in a precarious situation as Axel was nearing it from in front, suddenly grinned as it swung the giant club in its hands, despite being unable to take the proper stance for attacks which reduced the damage dealt by almost half.
However, this attack would still be very threatening to a weakling human like the one that had used despicable long-range attacks to injure it.
