Just as he was opening the description of the quests, a countdown appeared in front of Axel's vision once more, preventing him from getting a good look at what was written.

2nd day of the 6th Month of the Federation Calendar, Year 2612
Realising that it was 7 a.m. already, Axel could only sigh before putting away his headset and stretching his body while in bed.
A minute later, he quickly completed his daily exercise, before beginning to shower and prepare for school. Soon, Lily woke up and came to have breakfast with Axel.
Only now did Axel get time to open his phone and check all the messages. Surprisingly, he not only had a message from Dan, but also from an unknown number.

Hey Axel, you were right! When I asked my father for membership to go to a gym, he immediately agreed. He also agreed to get one for you. As a matter of fact, instead of the usual reluctance that he showed when giving me money, he had a smile on his face.
Do you think he has lost it?

Axel spat out the juice that he was drinking, spraying it all over the food and Lily, who was completely caught off guard. Opening her beautiful jade eyes with tears welling up within, she glared at Axel.
"Sorry, sorry. Just go and wash up once more. I'll fix the food till then"
"Hmph! Brother, you made Lily this dirty, now you need to make up for it later."
"Haha, of course."
*Bleh*
Lily stuck out her little pink tongue at Axel before running off to the washroom once again to clean up, her pigtails bouncing in the air behind her.
On the other hand, Axel quickly cleaned up the table and prepared another batch of food for Lily, while salvaging whatever he could from the spoiled food.

After some time, he had successfully dropped Lily off at school, and quickly made his way to his own school. On the way, he took some time to check his phone and found out that the second message was from the new restaurant to which he had applied for a job. They had actually accepted his job application, and all he needed to do was to appear for a quick interview before it would be finalised.
With a fixed earning of 20 credits per day for working only for 2 hours, he would be able to earn around 500 credits per month, and even be able to start paying rent to the old man. Currently, he was being given 400 credits as allowance for food, travelling and other miscellaneous expenses, while 50 credits had to be spent for the school fee per year. With more than 500 credits of additional earning, he could save up a lot of money, and even start taking proper care of Lily and himself, allowing him to properly increase the strength of his incredibly weak and pathetic body.
'I'll go for the interview right after dropping Lily off at home from school'
Axel met up with Dan, who was once again waiting for him at the school gate, and they spent the day studying at school. Surprisingly, Vex had not once come to take revenge throughout the entire day, even until Axel and Dan were leaving the school gate.
"Dude, listen. My dad already got us the membership and he has already sent me 27 messages, he really-"
*Ding*
Dan looked at his phone before giving a wry smile and spoke, "Make that 28 messages. He really wants me to start the gym, everyday!"
"Sure, then, let's go. When are you free?"
"Hmm, I have to do work till 4."
"I also have an interview today. If I get the job, I will be busy till 5 every day. I'll tell you if I get it or not. Then we'll decide when to go."
"Sure. So, which job is it?"
"Delivery"
"Hoho, shipment delivery? Since when did you have such contacts to get you into such a job?"
"Food delivery…"
Without saying anything else, Dan just patted Axel's shoulder and whispered, "Don't stress too much. If you need anything, just call me."
He did not say anything else, since he knew exactly the type of person Axel was. He would not take any favours, and he especially hated owing others, no matter how small it may be. Even when his parents had vanished, he did not ask anyone for anything, and he only accepted the money from his uncle after considering Lily's situation.
